why would u need an hdmi cable if u got a laptop lol
well i have cables from my series x to hdmi port 1 on monitor. dp cable from pc to monitor. worklaptop to hub. minidp to dhmi to monitor port 2
I don't understand how Mac fans are happy with 16 to 10
it's so painful to watch movies and videos
They also have a 15 or 16 inch screen
its wehy i have a 28 inch monitor
Mac has problems, not all monitors can be connected
because for apple you have to have a 5k monitor otherwise go
mac ois looks bad in 4k
Don’t think that’s true.
i have an error guys
when i gop to xbixo.com/play website
and check my games save files, it says error fetching data
this is for cloud not the same as pc game saves. cloud uses console versions of games
32GH9-GJ76D-4RPPC-24D6F-RWJTZ i got a spare pc game pass trial i can't use please someone take it
Hello everyone, I need some help. I downloaded xbox live on my computer and when I hit sign in, it went loading then "welcome back (my username)" then I closed it then the xbox live is still the same, it still says sign in and I don't see my account. Please help. I already tried uninstalling xbox live
I go to settings and account and my account is in the microsoft store but not in xbox account, same thing happens when I hit sign in, goes loading for a few seconds then "welcome back (my username)" I click lets go then my account still doesnt appear, it's still sign in
hm how peculiar my windows key has stopped working
found the issue
my keyboard has a game mode and it disables the windows key
fn + windows
its a little button on my keyboard that activates a "game" mode which disables the key. FN F12 locks my keyboard though
lol nice
I'm having this issue on my Logitech keyboard. But there's no game mode..
Look in logitechs ghub, or do FN+menu+f8
I did download the Logitech software and the setting to disable the windows button was not active. I may try that command when I get home.
Nope command didnt work 😦
Anyone know when kingdom rush alliance 5 will be on sale
no.
Absolutely craziness

What I think is crazy is that only 8 years ago you could buy a 1080 Ti (a high-enthusiast end GPU) for $699 nowadays you’ll be lucky if that same $699 is enough to get you a 5070, a mid range GPU
vert reasonable, 400 more for a 2% gain over the 4070
we can't do anything😭 😭
because 8 years ago Nvidia was a company that catererd to gamers, because 8 years ago there wasn't crypto miners or AI bros to buy up our GPUs.
Crypto was emerging iirc, at one point the GTX 10 series did get affected by it but yeah things really got out of hand so quickly after that
Because of them, you can no longer buy a used video card
not only you but everyone
a new one costs as much as my kidney and you can't buy the old one anymore
crypto wasn't as damaging as most people thought, which flooded the used market with cheap and perfectly fine 30 series cards
but nowadays theres nothing
I disagree with you, yes, cryptocurrency for a video card will be better than AI, but this is bad
no one wants to sell their 40 series cards or 30 series cards because you can't upgrade to anything, and no point in buying 20 series or 10 series cards because those are expensive and pointless to buy
Not what i meant
i meant as in Crypto didn't physically damage the card unless not taken care of (high temps no airflow)
the problem is that the miner doesn't care about the survival of the video card. He leaves the video card working in the worst conditions
more then likely, so at the end of that nonsense you were able to get cheap 30 series that got bought up when crypto crashed and mining became pointless
I'm afraid to come to someone, I see that he wants to deceive me, another problem is that I can't just leave
???
to understand the state of the video card you need to come to the owner's home
There will be a man there, maybe even two
I will be able to understand that they mined there or not, but the problem is whether it allows me not to buy
I hope you understand
Yeah but DLSS4 and the frame gen, I’ve seen it do some amazing things, like take a game from 70fps to 300fps
Yeah but RRP versus a 1080 Ti and there’s no comparison.
10% power increase per generation. Old game can't play normally
frame generation is bad in games
ok 1 false frame but not three
I, as a person who wants to become an animator, scream from three false frames
Not a fan of frame generation personally, especially the 4x mode

Amazing is amazing
Convincing me on frame generation will be nearly impossible. I don’t believe games should have ever seen such technology. Was never needed before, just like upscaling (though I am a bit more forgiving towards upscaling) but both technologies exist purely to offset the performance loss ray tracing has
Previously, the monitor matrix was completely different, because of this there was no soap. Soap began with the PS3 because the era of LT screens had already begun
Thing about frame generation, is it’s only decent when your frames are high to begin with
If you’re using it at 30 fps, it’s still gonna feel like 30 fps
actually it will feel worse than 30 fps. AMD recommends you only use AFMF with at least 60 fps.
it might look a little smoother but input latency will suffer something terrible
I’ve had mixed results on frame generations so far. With TFD and Immortals on console it seemed to feel “better” but on PC with Monster Hunter wilds it felt terrible, maybe it was just the way they implemented it.
A 5070 Ti / 5080 / 5090 is already going to get you high FPS in the majority of games.
Well exactly, then there isn’t as much need for frame generation
300 fps vs 60fps in a single player game doesn’t really mean much
frame gen may help you get closer to your monitor refresh rate
that many generated frames will feel terrible
What they need to find a way to solve is making games at low frame rates feel better to play
Persona 5 on PS3 accomplished that IMO
Otherwise these new technologies such as path tracing will never really feel great
eh, give it time. There was once a time when anti aliasing felt like it would never be worth the frame impact
I would be more hopeful if the 50 series had been a bigger leap than it was
Hopefully we’re not just going to get diminishing returns each gen now
Ow yeah I remember when MSAA was the only option you used to get about 15 years ago. Pretty heavy stuff
From Nvidia? Possibly but AMD showed what a real upgrade looks like with the 9070 XT. Mid-high end SKU that was able to nearly match AMD’s last gen flagship (7900 XTX)
Usually nvidias new 80 card is better than previous gens 90 but they just didn’t do that this time
They sure tried to make you think they did though
“4090 performance!!”
Yep and that failed hilariously. I still wonder if the claims made could be open to false advertising seeing as Nvidia never specified DLSS 4 performance just 5070 = 4090 Performance! How many bought it being fooled by that and actually believing the Nvidia of today would give what was $1499+ levels of performance for $549+?
There was fine print iirc
although that is never a guarantee to hold up in court
I don’t think I saw any fine print during the stream back at CES. I may have missed it but usually there is an asterisk or small numbers to indicate additional information
Definitely don’t see any of that
Absolutely does
Not what the consensus is on DLSS4
I disagree, I would rather max my resolution and still have 60+ frames than have lower resolution but better frames in a single player game. Multiplayer games is a different story
Meanwhile I’m sure the 4090 would completely wipe the floor with the 5070 even though it is limited to 2x frame gen vs 4x frame gen. DLSS 4 using the new transformer thingy (I forgot what Nvidia call it already) set at quality preset and 2x frame gen on the 4090 and 4x frame gen on the 5070. If I’m not mistaken the 4090 should pull out way ahead in said scenario
Nothing beats a single player game at 120+ 👌
But hey, your choice is your choice 😄
They’re at two completely different price points. Nvidia just used a technicality to create some hype.
I would expect a previous gen, £2,000 card to be a current gen low/mid tiered card.
Which is exactly why it’s strange that the 4090 beats the 5080
and only marginally better then the 4080
Now play Bioshock
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood on PC from Microsoft Store:
X32D6-7HDVX-W43TK-YHCJ2-4XKMZ
Not strange at all.
The 90 cards are in a whole different league.
The 5080 is only meant to be faster than the 4080.
Why
Because frame gen was the big feature Nvidia went for
at the bottom it was written only with dlls on maximum and frame generation
Mafia II: Definitive Edition on GOG: AFDU798AC238DF04DD
Saints Row The Third: Remastered on GOG: NYPZ984991016CA1DE
Because i can assure you if you played bioshock on the 5090 my 7900gre would beat the 5090
(you see the 50 series doesn't support Phyxs so it puts the the physics on the cpu, tanking performance to single digit numbers)
yummy gog codes
I already own them on XBox or PS (or both) so I don't really need them on PC too.
Which Bioshock?
Nvidia bought PhysX
1
the 5090 doesn't support physx
(50 series)
so games like Mirrors Edge and Bioshock will not run above 10 fps

Below 30fps that is mad
This has to be bait
Paying 3300 for 30 fps on a 15 year game because of proprietary software is insanity
It’s over 400fps with PhysX off
And i guess if you’re really, really into playing such an old game,
You can get a system to run it at max settings for very little these days.
So why does the proprietary software that only works on the proprietary hardware which is the best consumer gpu available produce an average of 30 fps
Digital foundry did a video with the old Batman games and Physx enabled but those seemed to run pretty bad on 50 series unless putting in a separate Physx card.
And it shouldn't be like that. Thats utterly ridiculous
Well it’s a shame yeah, I’m not sure why it was dropped exactly.
hi
i am dumb to ask this but how can I get xbox gamepass for free
either or they shouldn't have dropped support in the fashion they did
you already asked this somewhere else and have been answered.
please dont ask in multiple channels :)
Specific aspect of a 10-15 year old game which Nvidia no longer uses ends up having performance impact.
It is what it is. We’re talking about newly released games.
Compatibility is always going to be an issue.
Also, the games aren’t completely unplayable, just that yes you’re losing a feature but 400-600+ fps is no slack.
tbf I keep seeing people say PhysX is dead and that todays CPUs should be powerful enough to handle PhysX. While it may be dead these days older games still use it and not having that dedicated hardware will mean performance will suffer as it doesn't appear to be the case that CPUs of today are powerful enough to handle what PhysX would throw at them resulting in a lower quality version when changed to CPU that I would hardly compare to the GPU version
That’s pretty much the downside of proprietary tech, can just be dropped at any time. Maybe someone will will make something similar to Nglide to make some of those games work properly with Physx 32bit again
Because until Nglide came about those 3DFX Glide games using the API were unplayable for a while on anything else besides original hardware
If nvidia were a bit more fair about things they'd just release it so other people can work on it

pretty crazy how in this example the FPS is at about a third of what it is vs PhysX off but that would hardly be "the way it's meant to be played" as their motto was back then haha. That's performance loss on a scale that even ray tracing would be proud of
i mean its somewhat sad that PhysX is gone but imo if youre buying a 5090 with the intent of playing games that utilise PhysX i think you need to get your priorities straight
its whatever tho🤷♀️
Well I can say one thing, I'm a fan of Nvidia
true in some ways. Maybe like all the tech demos Nvidia have going about they could get PhysX remastered to only run on RTX GPUs. Game physics as of late has been lacking or limited in a lot of games compared to how advanced PhysX used to be, even if it was mostly just for showing off
you could argue that game physics now are an issue with not putting enough time or care into it, or rather publishers not letting them put that time or care into it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWFkDrKvBRU a pretty old video showing off what PhysX could do. You would have thought some 12 years or so later (from when this video seemed to be posted) that a more generic solution to PhysX would have been found and used so that those on AMD and Intel GPUs could use them too if they wanted but yeah, definitely seems to have taken quite a nose dive in game use. Last game I know of that used Nvidia PhysX - where an option becomes available for it to be enabled in graphics settings was Metro Exodus
Check out this preview of Borderlands 2 running on a GeForce GTX graphics card with all settings on max. Loaded with NVIDIA's GPU-accelerated PhysX technology, the video shows you the incredible effects you can witness in Borderlands 2 when gaming on a GeForce GTX system. Creatures, such as the Crystalisk, spew simulated fluids comprised of hund...
GPUs today are also far more computationally powerful too so its not like this wouldn't be possible. If anything it would be fun to see what an up to date version would look like with all the compute power we have today
I havent heard of physx since rise of tomb raider or batman arkham city on pc
That’s one of the main advantages with PC though essentially being able to go back in time and play everything at settings you could never do back in the day. Even if it’s not the primary reason of buying such a high end card is still a shame if you like to play old and new games.
Same,
I used to have a dedicated PhysX card in my PC back in 2008.
I don’t even remember what I played that took advantage of it and then Nvidia bought it soon after that.
I never did i had amd. I just saw it in the options
Case 🙌🏻
A month ago, I bought myself a new PC. It’s a pre-built CyberpowerPC comes with Intel Core i5-14600K, Nvidia RTX 4060, T-Force Vulcan 16GB DDR5, and 1TB SSD. And I can run Minecraft, Roblox, Elite Dangerous, and Helldivers 2 perfectly fine with this without running into a problem
Wish I can show my PC here, but don’t have perms to post any images in this channel.
nice
what case is that?
is it a h6 flow?
If you're looking for someone to play with, please go to #1094715375884697600
unfortunately yeah its a h6 flow
The case look nice. Have fun bulidng the interior 😁
Haha why do you say that?
And yes it is the H6. I got a free H7 from NZXT but it's HUGE and doesn't work on my desk. 😂
So much extra space. Not needed. Smaller better. Next PC will probably be more SFF. 😎
NZXT has been less then popular recently
Well they make great cases!
im looking at it when i upgrade to ddr5 from ddr4 in a year or two
I'm still on DDR4 as well. My build from 2020 ❤️
See, this is my first PC so I don’t really have anything to compare the experience to
So I don’t really know how much better ddr5 is over ddr4
The memory speed is around twice as fast I think
It's a leap for sure. But only now is it getting cheaper to upgrade lol
I build PCs to last at least 5+ years. I don't like constantly changing it up. Though 2 years ago I got a new CPU extremely cheap from a friend. 🙌🏻
Yeah, I built my PC to last a long time. That’s why I went for a 4090
Nice 😁
cuz im a loser
aka, stock fans with the h6 flow arent the greatest and the airflow isnt that good.... but who ACTUALLY cares about that lol
has nothing to do with popularity or anything
h6 flow is cool though, enjoy the pc
I'll be testing that as soon as I can swap it over. 😆 The H7 has the lowest temps I've ever seen on my build so far. I was impressed.
I have a couple of H7 cases. Built my brother a PC that is still to be used due to his room needing some work/rearranging and got one for myself but after the building experience I had with my brother's I wasn't that happy with the H7 and I really don't want to use it now. Btw, speaking of PC building should the HD audio connector from the case to motherboard require a bit of force to insert? I was really unhappy with that when building my brother's PC and idk but I have a bad feeling I might have broke those connectors with the force I had to use. I dread checking that build over when the time comes tbh 😦
Yea it's a little tight. Depending on your motherboard
It only goes in one way, but should be fine 😁
hit and miss but if it works it works
youd know if you broke it
ASUS board (B550-E)
I'm probably going to look at another case for my PC eventually while idk what I'll do with the H7 I have that remains sealed/untouched
i would imagine youd sell it or give it to a friend/family member if you dont like it
what's the recommendations for cases out there?
https://www.montechpc.com/air-903-max is usually less than 80 dollars and is very well performing
no one cares about case performance though lets be real
what if I said I did?
grab a really boring case like the 903 max or an XT pro ultra
216 and 207 are pretty good too iirc
granted theyre smaller though
the joke is that it's a PC for fun
an xbox pc? itd be cool.
https://www.antec.com/product/case/flux-pro or a screen on your case lol
I think I'll take it when I have money.
heh, thanks. I'm a big fan of stealth builds. Boring look/maybe not up to much on the outside but how the system and case performs is what matters most to me. Never been one for the whole RGB or other flashy features
I saw on YouTube how a person assemble a PC in an Xbox 360 Slim case
I'm more of a design fan, after all I'm an artist
thats cool. 😊 personally, i like to have a pc that i think looks decent, its why i own a king 95.
if it means anything to you, 207 is currently $87 on newegg which is nice. afaik its just a little worse than the 903. both are similar in price though. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zysV3C/lian-li-lancool-207-atx-mid-tower-case-lan207rx
i think you might be from the UK though which in that case the US pricing is kinda irrelevant
I've even looked into what the most optimal case fan configuration is as believe it or not adding fans to all the available slots isn't the best idea, it may even be worse overall
most optimal fan configuration is crazy behaviour but fair play
filling all the fan slots looks cool 😎
whether I decide to keep my current case or get something new I think I'll go front intake and rear exhaust only. No fans at the top of the case, though it is optional to add one at the top, rear of the the case but naturally heat rises so should exhaust out the top of the case
from what i remember the fact that heat naturally rises becomes irrelevant after a certain point
https://imgur.com/a/bwTB3Z8 scuffed benchmark ran a while back
Honestly, I'm very surprised
I don't understand why you need a steam deck if you can buy gamepads for your phone and sit at home
steam decks are made to run games a little more graphically demanding than whatever that 2d game is
but yeah, if a gamepad works for you, it works for you
Also SteamOS rocks
it totally does
this is remoite play i can play 3d with it
I didn't think that remote play works so well at home
Well of course you need a steam deck
what I wonder is how side fans impact case cooling as idk if they are better suited to intake or exhaust. Where possible I'd probably stick with the good old front fans as from many videos that allows a more natural airflow like so (sorry for the rubbish doodle on paint but I'm sure it will do 😅)
https://youtube.com/shorts/731fsxC5spA?si=QU7fjBZ8xR5lWp71 why did the video lose quality
about something you need to download steam and steam link
Steam on PC to Steam link on phone
go to remote play steam through the program steam link
after that exit console mode this way you can control the pc via phone
I don't know why the program is afraid of the task manager
Steam link can be downloaded on Google Play for free
any good games on gmae pass rn
Is that a Hyte case or something else kinda similar in style?
NZXT H6 Flow
It's nice, it's similar to another one I keep seeing.
Hyte Y70
I wondered if iit might be the same manufacturer since you know, similar styles.
Now I look at them both I can see the distinct differences though.
Yea I think mine is also smaller. Which is important for me. Haha
I want to build a computer on Radeon.
I heard that there is no point in buying a rx7600 xt
I want it to handle 1080p games
Can anyone recommend an assembly on AMD Radeon?
typically fastest gpu you can afford
I would see how much the 9060 XT is when AMD announce it. Said announcement can’t be too far as they teased it being some time in Q2
Otherwise go for the 9070 XT, if you can afford it
I'm trying to connect my controller to my PC, but it just... won't. I've connected it previosly, but for some reason it doesn't want to now
for some reason clicking "forget device" fixed it?
wired or wireless?
werid
I don't know how much of a problem cooling is in gaming laptops because I've never had a gaming laptop
I think it's a lot because my weak one, which consumes little energy, heats up quite decently near the battery and the processor heats up to 70 degrees. My processor consumes 40 W, and for cooling there is a cooler and aluminum, and even so it is 70 degrees

I've had different PCs, but not mini PCs (which I don't see the point in) and I haven't had a gaming laptop.
I think that in half a year I will buy a gaming laptop and I will be scared of the laptop temperature
its not a lot
70 degrees is fine for a lot of laptop processors
if its a well made laptop its fine
the problem is that my processor eats 40 watts, but what will happen if it eats 150 watts?
the video card also eats 150 watts and more
15 watt processor + integrated graphics 25 watts = 40 watts in processor
only one way to find out
its not like its an issue
the exact same thing happens in desktops
cooling in desktop pc is always much better
no laptop with liquid cooling no laptop with huge cooler
The laptop does not have a huge power supply with cooling like in a desktop PC

why is borderlands so high file size
cause its big game?
on steam its 100gb
xbox for some reason has it as double that
Which borderlands? The base game of 3 is only 66 gigs for me.
borderlands 3
Yep, only 66 for me. Try unchecking the dlc. Also, some games are just bigger on console
I don’t check dms
how do i uncheck the dlcs then
It is what it is. There’s nothing you can do
I thought you were talking about an Xbox console
ah
It’s a good game though, I recommend it

Switch 2 is coming soon, it doesn't suit me very well, I thought about it and found a replacement for it for myself - a gaming PC with remote play
Any pc or laptop can remote play as it only depends on ur internet connection not ur pc specs
well yes, but the PC specs depend on how well the game will run
gtx 960 won't handle gta6
No it doesnt. Remote play streams the game from ur xbox to ur pc
I need a combination of PC + Remote Play, as the company's servers are far away
Oh
I have a GeForce Now with 200 ping
Good luck in building one. Especially with how expensive games are in ur country
It's cheaper for me to buy games on steam than to buy xbox game pass
maybe not cheaper, but slightly more expensive
often in Kazakhstan on steam a game costs 1 dollar or 4 dollars on steam
this is why i love Gabe so much
Like any game including triple a titles?
aaa maybe with the discount it's worth $20
I can buy dbd for 4 dollars, it's easy on steam but not in console
Only AAA games and Sega have such prices
Classic Sonic Selling For Over $60 Everywhere
This is why I hate Sega
You guys play Helldivers 2?
elite controller 2 , pc via bt or usb connection is there anyway to map buttons for volume / mute ?
in the accessories app i can see allow map buttons ect but no option for volume
I’ve been trying to get voice chat working on Remote Play to no avail. Especially on some Xbox 360 games.
Make sure you granted the Xbox App access to your Microphone in Windows privacy settings.
never buy samsung
model makes a bigger difference than brand
Hey I was wondering if yall knew any good starting pc set ups? My bfs birthday is coming up and I know he really wants one
Best thing to do is let him choose. Give him a budget and let him get the PC or parts he wants for that amount, or he could put more towards it to get more.
Okie, thank you
Depends on what kinds of games he likes to play, so I agree with first reply. He doesn’t need a top line GPU with a 4k OLED monitor for basic games. They’re so customizable that the best part of building a PC is choosing the end appearance as well as performance.
He uses my Xbox to play cod. Thank you
i playing last of us part 2 on my 6800xt at 1440p at settings custom between high and very high native no AA i get around 80fps. at 4k i get close to 60fps
probably stay at 1440p for last of us part 2
I've not played that one, but I played the first Far game and it was fun.
That gives me hope for my 6900 XT ngl
techpowerup shows very high settings only so above 60fps on ur OLED it was 1440p right?
yes
with my custom settings i get high 70s to mid 80s so u will probably get around me plus 5-15 percent better frames than me
techpowerup at very high 1440p says i get 72fps
im sticking to no aa or any upscalers if i can
upscalers can cause shimmering effects in the game
i only tried it in the prologue. currently still remoting for work
hope this helps joker. guessing u cant wait for the raidou remaster next month
and indeed. It has classic style SMT artwork which I am a big fan of
Not that SMT V art isn't great because it is. lol
I should also mention I have a 5700x3d processor
any atlus game i could max it out and get 120fps at 4k no issue except maybe metaphor
i got a 5600 cpu. so if my specs is a bit weaker than urs then u will definitely get 1440p60 no problem
My ROG Ally can max out P3R with RT reflections and maintain 60 fps all the time
Atlus making a game with RT light enough for iGPU is cool ngl
yeah
Uft, had an issue with the Bedrock version of Minecraft not working on Windows for some reason, launcher would crash and the textures for skins and everything else in the store wouldn't work
Found a alternative launcher that pulls the APPX from the Store and it works now, I can finally change my skin and not have to reinstall the game every time I want to play it
Hey guys, i am wondering if all these rumors about steam coming to xbox are false or are they actually based ?
It would be so great to have a console where you can play all games including retro and indie on it
like steam also do
- We don't do rumors on this server.
- That is absolute nonsense.
it will never happen cause there is a whole bunch of adult games that xbox will never let on their platform as well as ps ports which is a potential lawsuit if xbox/steam dont get permission from sony first
it could be possible on the handheld but there is nothing saying yes or no at this time
consoles also allows to play those games as well
No far from that
I think the recommendation for those on RTX 40 series and older GPUs remains to stay on the pre RTX 50 series drivers - 566.36. Those with RTX 50 series GPUs the recommended is latest drivers
Dude wanted to install DLSS 4 on his RTX 4070

What about for RTX 50 series, what’s the recommendation?
don't buy wait
Well, if you seriously hope that there won't be any problems if you use the warranty
I think drivers are the least serious problem
most up to date driver as Nvidia try to fix the mess. I did kinda mention that, though sorry if that wasn't clear
572.83 is the current latest driver
by the way did you buy Rx9070xt?
nope, kept to using the 7900 XTX
I'll probably buy a gaming laptop by the end of the year because my brother stole my PC without shame, well I gave it to him but I didn't think he'd sell his PC.
Nice
I order new PC tomorrow evening I think 🙏✨
Thank You!
yeah whats the problem with that
its like 20 users using 3
Sorry, I don't know something.
I thought that the old video card can not use the new dlss
I thought that series 30 can use 2 dlss and RTX 40 series 3 dlls can use
thank you
Nvidia makes PhysX open source because they couldn't be damned to do do it
thanks i guess
well its better than keeping the ancient tech "you" wanted locked away, right?
i dont see a reason to keep it supported so id just take the win
I think Steam will be able to do something with 32-bit PhysX
make it backwards compatible like in consoles
The only thing I'm not happy with is that there is a huge amount of defective products.
Nvidia is trying to make the price of video cards lower but they can't because bad people will buy video cards
Nvidia Won't Be Able to Stop Bad People from Building Video Card Farms
Well, Nvidia was creating a shortage of graphics cards.
and i'm not sure they wanted to do it, maybe they had to do it because they needed to prepare the plant for the production of a large number of new video cards
I'm very sad that Nvidia didn't pay me for these words
<nvidia is trying to lower the price of their cards
the 5090 is 400 more then the 4090 at msrp
the 5080 and 4080 has the same msrp
the 5070 is 150 dollars cheaper then the 4070 at msrp
and no news on the 5060 yet
but generally speaking prices stagnated for cards not that interesting ,(5090 excluded)
(AMD paid me for these words)
2k for the best video card is not that much. Many people buy Tesla for $70k. I think $2k for the best graphics card is normal.
Many people finance a tesla*
Also
nvidia is trying to lower prices!
2000 for the best graphics card is normal!
pick one and only one
You understand that video cards are bought not only by normal people, but also by bad people, because of them the prices for video cards have become much more expensive than 10 years ago
what is better a car or the coolest pc?
For me, PC is more important
You are blatantly spreading incorrect information.
The price jump from the 3090 to 4090 was 100 dollars, a soild 6-7% increase
the price jump from the 4090 to the 5090 was 400 dollars, or about a 20% increase
they are not decreasing prices, they are increasing them
make it make sense
I'm not saying that they are reducing the cost of video cards.I'm saying that they're trying to make the prices as normal as they can.
normal
that was nvidia a long time ago, they do not care about "us" anymore, we are secondary to them
they can't make it so bad people can't work with video cards
They literally can
they did it before
bad people will find a way around this
During the CryptoBro Era they made the LHR cards which had a crippled hashrate so they couldn't mine crypto as well.
if nvidia cared they could just make cards that have reduced AI capabilities.
If you're talking about scalpers thats not Nvidias job to deal with, thats up to individual market places to figure that out
(ie amazon requires you to have amazon prime to buy gpus)
I'm not talking about speculators
I don’t think scalpers couldn’t just pay for Amazon prime. I mean it’s very insignificant in comparison to the GPU cost.
I hate them PS5 costs the same as a PS5 level PC in Kazakhstan
i think its atleast to stop the ones buying in bulk
because that requires them to make a new account, get prime, log out, log back into a new one and repeat
because in Kazakhstan we have bad but not so bad people selling ps 5 with a huge price tag
the markup can be 40%
if its just one person buying a 5090 to then resell for like 5000 then thats a lot less harmful then someone buying 10 5090s and letting them rot
speculators? what?
Swearing is prohibited on this server.
you mean scalpers?
I mean, you can buy multiple GPUs from one account
Well, I didn't say that the store was raising the price.
when i started talking about ps 5 i started complaining about stores
I’d just flying into a nearby country and buy one and go back 😄
Amazon limited to a purchase per iirc
Well, not UK Amazon.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a us thing
my brother bought a video card across the border using Kazakhstan mail
I live far from Europe for me to come by plane to Europe is expensive
Well, I can still only get to China on foot.
I don't even have enough money for a plane ticket
in Korea and Japan I can relative buy a ticket for cheap because I am close to Korea Japan
ok, i was wrong, a ticket to paris will be 100 dollars cheaper for me than to tokyo
I was wrong about Seoul too
I know geography so badly that it's even funny
Thanks for the advice, you inspired me to go to Paris
This goes down as my favorite Windows error message lol
something happened
why do these $17 headphones sound worse than the Chinese copy of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro for $3 or 5$
It's not just bad sound for 17 bucks, it's damn painful to hear
Because price doesn’t always equal quality.
The Chinese copy of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro has only two downsides: it is not as loud as the Hyper X, and the sound is not as rich as the Hyper X.
I can think of one other major downside to wireless earbuds and that is the wireless codec they use that could also impact sound quality. Most won't take much notice of stuff like that though and those that do usually are deep in a rabbit hole by that point
I bought a hyper x for 140 dollars it's pretty good but it quickly loses the quality it had
well i still use hyperx this earphone but it is not as good as the first day
it's too heavy for my head
the microphone is terrible i don't know why they make microphones for headphones at all
Because most people don’t have the option to use a standalone microphone with their setup
there is a cheap microphone for pc they sound much better than the microphone in headphones
Some headsets have decent mics if they are more premium
But lot of people that play on console don’t play at a desk
some people may not have enough room for a dedicated mic
Yes, there's lists about which headphones are best based exclusively on the mic quality
And you can't use external mics on console
Well on PS you can
But not Xbox
I have a couple of rules when to use voice chat in the game it's simple don't use voice chat
just buy maxwell, bro. bro.
$17 for something that probably sounds worse than something like Truthear Gates or Zero:2s
its cool though
Such a good headset
of course
I bought it 2 years ago and I don’t think any other headset is close in terms of performance
original Samsung for 17 bucks they bleed my
awesome! What’s the system specs?
Corsair 3500X ARGB High Airflow Case
9800X3D
Corsair Titan 360mm AIO
x3 Corsair Additional Fans
32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM
1TB Gen5 M.2 14,400MB/s
2TB Gen3 M.2 3,500MB/s
1000W ATX 3.1 PSU
ASUS ROG STRIX X870-E Hero
Nvidia RTX 5090
LG OLED 480Hz Monitor
O cool

Nice, pretty god tier system there
lets hope no burn out on connectors lol
Thank you!
With it being ATX 3.1 and making sure it’s clicked alllll the way in, I’m sure it’ll be fine 😄
Otherwise, that’s what warranty is there for.
That’s some system!
Thing is, with the 12vhpwr connector on RTX 50 series it would appear Nvidia ditched one key element of the connector. Load balancing. It could be the most snug fitting GPU around but if the connector itself acts up and is able to throw all the power the GPU might need through one of the pins that to me is an issue just waiting to happen.
Don’t forget to also check the ROPs count is correct too and I really do hope the state of the drivers is much improved, especially around black screening as there was an issue where the driver couldn’t between a 5090 and 5090 D and I think even certain display configurations may also be affected (part of a wider issue with older RTX GPUs).
Sorry for being all negative here but I really do hope all goes well with that system when it is set up
I want to buy a mac mini m4
Thanks, I’m sure it’ll be fine as it’s a custom built machine and will go through all the proper testing before coming to me - so I’m sure any issues will be resolved.
I hope everything will be fine with you and there is a guarantee
I'm wondering if it's worth buying. Of course Apple stunted on the SSD . SSD 256 gb
Thank You! - I’ll update in 10 days time 😄
My installment plan will end at the end of the year. I'll probably buy some equipment.
It's a pity I'm not as rich as you
what r u gonna use ur mac for gaming or production work?
probably like a small box for film or editing
nice. i just use pc for gaming. i probably wont ever buy a mac tbh
honestly i do animation and my editing is literally the simplest
tbh i wouldnt where to begin for that lol
I just want to touch it and that's all
I probably won't buy it
I have never worked on Mac OS
macs is good for production. support in gaming is not as good as pc but got better in the recent years
By the way, I looked at the tests of Assassin's Shadow, its fps is literally the same as the Xbox series s
dunno. i got over 60fps on my pc in the game
s series s for ac shadows locked to 30 fps?
their and there 30 fps 1080pi as I understand
Yeah
i really dont pay attention to console anymore. im like 95 percent on my pc
i only use my series x for ms rewards
i have already gotten 100 percent of all achievements in shadows already on both steam and xbox
I don't know how Apple can sell mini PCs that have the same performance as a laptop for the same price
plus not a lot of games have support for macs only recently some games have mac support
Okay, I'm wrong, it's just that our Mac costs 270 bucks more
for a pure gaming i would not buy a mac especially if i want to play decade old games
@smoky flame some changes to the system
Went for the LCD version of the Corsair Titan 360mm Cooler
They didn’t have any Corsair T705 M.2s
So went for the Samsung 9100 Pro Gen5 which are ever so slightly faster.
Also went up to the ASUS Crosshair Hero board as if you use more than 1 M.2 slot on most of the boards, it lowers the bandwidth on the PCIE 5 Lane from x16 to x8 or even x4. Seems to be a limit on lanes from AMDs side.
Whereas the top ASUS board can have 2 without a problem - a lot of other boards cannot.
Also caved in and paid for fast track build - so 3 days instead of 10 days for £70.
with the fast track build
unfortunate
I play Minecraft from phone
y
Yes I wasn’t going to pay for faster but hey, I can at least get it all set up and ready.
considering youre in the UK you could have gotten a grand vision 360 for about 100 quid, or a warframe or similar for even cheaper. but i didnt realise it was a prebuilt service so disregard what i said
No worries
This is only for 1-2 years
Normally I get dual 360mm radiator custom loop.
I got my PC from a prebuilt service and they were pretty good
Average ‘male living space’
I have an elliptical trainer and an exercise bike in my room
i barely have the room for my xbox pc and monitor let alone any of those lol
Hi how do you exit full screen mode on the xbox app on PC?
for 2 dollars
I hope because of me Kazakhstan won't become Argitana 2 on Steam
mac mini m4 is the best mini pc i can buy
I love laptops but I hate them at the same time
I really want to know mini pc
I'm too poor for a gaming laptop and there are so many "buts".
Firstly, the fact that it is impossible to add RAM normally without voiding the warranty
you can make it so that it has 32 GB instead of 16 GB but you will lose the warranty
purely because of this I can't recommend gaming laptops
Of the PC types, I still have to buy a monoblock, a mini-PC, and a gaming laptop.
isnt that in the settings of each game u launch from xbox app on pc
Does anyone have a ThermalTake Tower 600?
I can't recommend gaming laptops because 99% of people buying gaming laptops don't know how to care for one
Also lot more expensive for similar specs as a desktop
Paying for portability
plus unless u know the heck u r doing its very difficult to upgrade parts of the laptop which is mostly limited to RAM and storage i think
for a 2k laptop i could get a better desktop pc build
Personally I would get a separate laptop for portability
Because I don’t need insane specs for a laptop for work or whatever
i have a work laptop given to me by my company. a surface 3 laptop
I have an elitebook
and even then it is still not as powerful, by nature of being limited in cooling and power
Well if you add 1000 dollars it might be the best PC
laptops for RTX 4090 cost 6000 dollars
they have the same power as RTX 4070 ti super
like what 30 percent lower in power compared to desktop gpus
CPUs too are weaker
that's not always the case
dont laptops use similar custom socs to consoles
Only get a laptop if portability matters more than hw capability
no
unless you get like a Ryzen AI series or something, and even then there are significant differences
rtx4090m is a cut down rtx4080 desktop
and it won't be possible to realize all this power because of the CPU heating
nice to know. i probably wont ever get a gaming laptop. i dont travel a lot. plus when i do i want to be offline for the most part
Gaming laptops are spicy temp wise too
i wonder what can u upgrade on a laptop if u have the knowledge to do so
and maybe the wifi card
Nope, those are soldered to mobo
and even if you managed to BGA solder it, the mobo might not accept the new chips
thats also another reason why i wont do laptop gaming
gaming laptop can't be placed on stomach while lying on bed. Because it's heavy, it will hurt, and secondly, a gaming laptop is afraid of everything except a table.
Youd just be better off getting a steam deck or rog ally
^ agreed, I have an Ally and have used a Deck.
If a game runs poorly on those, chances are you would not want to play it on a laptop anyways.
Its just storage now, most ram is soldered on the board
damn
Older Laptops, when laptops were good, could swap ram
you can use EGPU there, but EGPU will help up to RTX 4060 and even then RTX 4060 will work worse than just putting RTX 4060 on PC
and it's not a fact that the laptop will see the egpu
But yeah, gaming laptop now are just not it
(real gamers will just nvme adapt a 4090 to a a laptop lmao)
need portability?
get a handheld
need performance?
get a desktop
know what you're doing?
get a laptop
becaue 9 times out of 10 that 6000 dollar laptop with a 4090 will be ewaste in a year if you don't know what you're doing
I hate connecting my laptop to a monitor so much it's hard to describe (it's very annoying)
it will say rtx4090m but it is a cut down rtx 4080
An external graphics card (eGPU) is a device that allows you to connect a full-fledged desktop graphics card to a laptop via a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C interface.
The gpu becoming ewaste won't matter when its artifacting because of heat damage
in laptops the cpu heats up more than the gpu
there won't be any artifacts there, it will just be very noisy
and there will be few frames because the CPU can't handle it and the keyboard will be difficult to use because of the heating
Well of course if you only play cs go or dota there won't be any heating
by the way the noise depends on what kind of laptop it is with rtx4090m there are two types of rtx4090m laptops
which is mobile and which is gaming
gaming rtx4090m will always be noisy and mobile rtx4090m will be quieter
mobile gaming is most people considered games on ur tablet or phone not a laptop lol
they both have rtx4090m but they have different rtx4090m
if i go for portability i probably get a handheld like steamdeck or ally x over a laptop
by the way they are both lighter and smaller than ultrabooks. Ultrabooks light energy efficient laptop
lighter and smaller
that's the issue
wont that make cooling and the laptop gpu power an issue if its lighter and smaller?
Ultrabooks are the middle ground between a phone and a laptop
in terms of hardware, ultrabooks are similar to steamdeck asus rog ally
there are no problems with cooling since the hardware there is weak and consumes little, but if there is no cooler then even this will heat up a lot
z cpu in steam deck and asus rog ally and lenovo legion go this is a change ryzen u
and of course they have similar built-in graphics
laptops for me is a big skip. i will get more price to perf on desktops
laptops are not worth it
I bought a laptop for studying, it's small but I'm tired of carrying it around
can u even build a laptop urself? i dont have the knowledge for that lol
With a 3d printer maybe
if a so dimm mini itx mobo exists it could fully be possible
wouldnt that still be consider a pc?
Depends how loose your defintion of a laptop is
lol
More then likely it would probably require making small mounts and figuring out how to connect a lithium battery pack to a "Desktop" motherboard
and figuring out how to stick a monitor on it
used to be able to swap CPU too
https://videocardz.com/newz/user-reports-melted-power-cable-after-using-geforce-rtx-5070-graphics-card scary what a pin being slightly out of place can do
Check your GPU connectors No graphics card is safe? We have another case of a melted power cable involving the new graphics card series equipped with a 12V-2×6 power connector. However, this particular case is specifically about the power cable, not the connector, which has melted. An X/Twitter user, ere9w, posted several videos showing that […]
its always melted power cables with nividia 50 series nowadays lol
melted power connectors or driver issues. Usually I'd give recommendation to avoid new AMD GPUs for up to 3 months following the launch of a new GPU due to driver related issues but this time it seems to be Nvidia I'll be saying that about and it may go beyond 3 months. Speaking of AMD though, haven't heard of any connector melting issues with the Sapphire Nitro+ or ASRock Taichi 9070 XT that also use 12vhpwr
question why does 9070 xt needs the 12vhpwr if its a mid range gpu? and not use the 8 pin power connector like on the 6000 or 7000 series?
Well, I expected that the RTX5090M would be a cut-down version of the RTX 5080.
but I didn't expect it to be RTX 5070 level
somewhere RTX 5070 is more powerful somewhere RTX 5090 M is 10% more powerful
9070 XT is considered a mid-high end GPU, like the 5070 Ti. As for the choice of using the 12vhpwr connector over 8 pin that beats me tbh but I seem to remember ASRock having excess connectors (I wonder why...) so select RX 7000 series GPUs also saw use of the 12vhpwr connector. Use of it may also be to reduce cable clutter - as the original claim about this connector was set out to do seeing as the alternative to 12vhpwr would have been 3x 8 pin, which does look rather unsightly I have to admit, though on the other hand I would still take that over the 12vhpwr connector and I don't think anyone could change my mind on that at this point with how things have been since Nvidia changed to using it
that's just gpu in general honestly.
AMD has had a few instances of it happening too but AMD mostly keeps to a decent positioning of the slot
NVIDIA's pin placement on cards after the 30 series has just been in bad spots
I’ll update you on how mine goes
I should have the PC on Wednesday
Got a call this morning saying it’ll go into testing for about 16 hours and then should get shipped on Tuesday ready for Wednesday or Thursday latest.
I’ve switched internet from EE (1.6Gb) to TalkTalk (1Gb) as TalkTalk did offer far better ping last time I was with them - not sure if it’ll be the same as they changed the ONT but I’d like to check it out
I still have VM (1.2Gb) for the WiFi and waiting for the 2.2Gb to be available in my area.
Also hope they offer a WiFi Router or I may just go 3rd Party as it’s a big upgrade for me versus WiFi 6 - I understand it’s a big cost atm for a business so they may hold off for a while yet.
Have you considered installing ethernet?
That’s exactly what I run.
And have done since like 2002 😄
Right now I’m super overkill with a Cat8 cable
Ah, I have an electrician in my family who is going to be installing it soon
Wifi is alright but I’m losing out on about 700mbps
Nice, I’m lucky as the room where my PC sits is directly above the room where the Router sits. So it’s just a neat way to run it up the wall and straight into the PC.
I’ve done more elaborate routing over the years.
Yeah not only speed but Ping & Jitter is far more solid on Ethernet.
Yeah, a more reliable gaming experience is nice
On WiFi I’d end up with 20-40ms ping with fluctuations - not terrible - but - on Ethernet it’s a solid 5-10ms and always super tight and stable.
Yeah I’ve got Ethernet running upstairs through the wall and then an Ethernet switch for the different rooms. Nothing too fancy.
Going to get Cat6 installed
I honestly find wifi pretty much unplayable with all the variability it can bring so definitely worth it imo.
the router and ONT are in my room so wifi is very strong for me. All I’m lacking is a wifi 7 capable network adapter to make full use of the wifi 7 router’s features
Have heard wifi 7 network adapter support on AMD platforms can be sort of hit or miss, not to mention for wifi 7 support you need Windows 11 too
I heard that England is freezing due to a lack of gas. I want to cry😭
well very too good
afaik its only the Asrock and Sapphire 9070xts who are actually doing it
granted im sure in Sapphires case its because of actually performance reasons.
Asrock throws it on cards for funsies, like with a blower style 7900xtx
I mean, I’m completely fine and haven’t turned the heating on for a couple / few weeks now.
It’s been relatively mild recently.
I'm just saying it's too good
What’s too good?
this is many times better life than in Kazakhstan and Russia
This made me want to cry
Im confused
Kazakhstan is much worse than England in short
Let's keep on topic please, thanks
Nice, although I’ll hold off until 27” 1440p and OLED before I buy 😄
It’s always good to see companies pushing their products !
is this only for valorant 600 hertz

CS GO, as well as some other classic games
ah great i can't wait to play peggle and pong in 610 hz
You could simulate a CRT flicker with that refresh rate lol
guys why when i start a party it keeps saying connecting on my pc?
No idea i dont use parties u could try opening up a post in #1091756150644555946
just did thanls
hey cool the 5060 was announced lets see
5060 Ti 8 gb
God
Damnit
We didn't like it on the 40 series
What would make you think we would want it on the 50 series
was hoping for 12 or 16
Don't worry we're getting a 16 gig model
They're making another with only 8
like ooh i can't wait to play 720p high at 40 fps instead of 35
lol
idk what is going on with Nvidia's marketing but it has sucked with RTX 50 series. Just like the state of the cards. Clinging to DLSS and Multi Frame Generation to bail them out
seems realistic. cuz everyone knows a modern graphics card is incapable of running 1080p
XX60 cards are scraps but theyre not unusable lol
well at least this time they added a note about performance figures. I didn't see that note at the bottom with the 5080 or 5090 graphs a few months back
well, it makes sense. if i designed something thats capable of generating a lot of frames i too would probably use it as a lead advertisement point
youve gotta remember its marketing
relative performance to the 3060 ti
even they knew the 4060 was bad
people who purchased a 4060 are unlikely to be buying a 5060
I too would be sceptical if i bought a 4060
it has nothing to do with being skeptical
theyre just trying to market to the people who are more likely to spend
its all marketing both amd and nvidia do this every launch
Can't wait for the 60 series to compare relative performance to the 980 ti
true, though I'd still rather take REAL frames over these fake generated frames. I doubt anyone could convince me about frame generation and it is sad as I fear games are going to become reliant on it
More then likely
because game dev hard
ai ez
its hard to imagine youre conversing in good faith if this is your take
Nvidia is marketing in bad faith
yah, im sure a lot of people do. but advertising bigger frame numbers looks better
theyre marketing to make money lmfao
lying ahout the 5070 isn't marketing
theres also people that actually like using frame generation technology, which is important to remember
they didnt lie though
do they like it or not know how it works though? I doubt everyone knows the inner workings of frame generation, like you said all they will see is higher FPS, wow!
its no different to seeing an advertisement on TV but then the next scene has a billion tiny characters at the bottom that specify a whole bunch of stuff
They might like the idea of framegen but i doubt someone would sit down and be like
"Wow i love input delay and motion blur"
idk, i dont ask everyone. although ive seen people say they enjoy using it. i doubt its really that bad if youre already at 60+ frames
i dont use frame gen tech so i cant comment
There was none of that at CES
maybe if they were like
"Using our new AI Frame Generation the RTX 5070 can rival the performance of the 4090!"
Which would be a bit more straightforward compared to "This thing can run as a good as a 4090 lol" thanks Jenson
the only good thing to come out of this 50 series launch is Nvidia proving they can make normal sized gpus
i dont see why theyd do this
money
it was specified later in the presentation the numbers were obtained with MFG
them saying "5070 = 4090" on a huge presentation whilst still being correct seems fine imo
knowing the 90% market share they hold only 10% of them actually do research and the other 80% won't
errr, yeah. they know this
its also worth mentioning that gamers are very little to do with their income
and funny jensen eating nvidia gpu gif.
5070 with DLSS and multi frame gen active vs a 4090. I'm sure if that 4090 also had DLSS and frame generation active it would have set things right, as in the 4090 would have still been way out ahead but this argument is getting old now. Guaranteed had AMD pulled this off first everyone would have been calling them out about it yet it seems Nvidia have a get away pass or something. AMD can't even enjoy FSR exclusitivity in a game without the noisy bunch on the green side demanding DLSS be supported too. Yet there are plenty of games with no FSR support or poorly implemented where DLSS is supported
making the playing field fair-er doesnt make for good numbers 😎
the issue is also largely just the userbase. if you go on social media youll often still hear the classic "intel + nvidia is the only good combo" or "amds drivers suck" or whatever.
its also no secret that people clearly dont like amd https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/videocard/
along with UserBenchmark having god-tier SEO, showing a lot of inexperienced users their good old "amd is a bunch of neanderthals" or whatever it is
im no fan of nvidias current methods but their marketing seems great and its clearly working if people are buying it. 🤷♂️
but anyway my foods here. 😊
Considering the GPUs sell out instantly, I don’t think people care tbh
I'm no fan of Nvidia's ways either but I was super close to buying an Nvidia GPU back in January though things happened that then prevented me from being able to do so and in the weeks that followed news wasn't looking very good. Usually I don't read too much into it but if there was ever a sign to say it was never meant to be this was it I think
also, pretty sure "AMD drivers suck" has become something of a meme and/or gif at this point. Nvidia drivers aren't doing too great right now and that is with multiple attempts to fix it but that will probably be brushed under the carpet while the "AMD drivers suck" thing continues, putting people off an AMD GPU purchase for no reason. Haven't heard of any major issues relating to AMD drivers and their latest GPUs
popularity and also I'm convinced not all purchases are actually making it into gamers hands but scalpers that sell for a profit as they know gamers will be desperate to get their hands on the new cards so will pay the increased prices and ofc Nvidia won't care who the cards go it, to them (like any other corporate business) its sales and as a gamer I have zero cares about how well a product sells, only that it performs well and if it doesn't it will get returned. As long as I can afford it, I'll go where the value and performance are. None of the brand loyalty rubbish as I learned some time back they don't value such things much, if at all
I realized that I don't need that many teraflops. Yes, I had a plug called RTX 4060, not an actual RTX 4070 TI graphics card. I sit and watch TV series or draw, this is a huge amount of time that I spend on my PC. Yes i played games but this game can be run on mac
I definitely played more than 500 hours last year
teraflops have very little, if anything to do with actual gaming performance. Far more useful in the scientific field
it's generally difficult to judge a video card based on its specifications
only game tests can tell you how good it is
well and tests of other programs for example blender or others
I said teraflops for beauty
Well, in general, teraflops are also important
for example, the Steam Deck has about the same teraflops as the PS4, but it's not much more powerful than the PS4 even with FSR
Somewhere around 15-20% with FSR and it has more total memory
this is when the steam deck is connected to the network
this is because steam deck is weaker than ps4 by 200 gigaflops
teraflops are important but that's not the main thing
Scalpers are a thing, but, not that many on the 5090, for example, OCUK had plenty of stock this morning. I saw almost every model in stock. The eBay listings have been sitting for a while with sellers dropping prices.
So I wouldn’t say it’s just scalpers buying out the stock.
That’s the thing, the 5090 is its own class without competition. That’s why people will buy.
the problem with teraflops and todays GPUs is that both AMD and Nvidia double up the instructions and that means a doubling of single point precision figures. AMD have only done it since RDNA 3 afaik but Nvidia have done it since RTX 30 series and similar to what was said earlier where the bigger number looks better for marketing I guess both kinda just stuck with it. The attached screenshot is specs of the 9070 XT from TechPowerUp's GPU database that shows peak theoretical performance - of which I doubt many games would be able make use of the doubling of instructions so you could effectively halve these figures under gaming conditions. Meanwhile other conditions may allow for the use of all instructions
damn, didn't expect that screenshot to come out that large lol
I understand that this makes it more difficult to judge. Also with nanometers
I mean look at this absurdity - it’s a game I will play and 5090 is the best experience
123 fps 1080p
hey guys im on pc using game pass but my xbox app just gets stuck on black screen with xbox logo and wont load up any help?
Aaaaaaa
And getting close to double the performance of a 7900XTX
yay 60 fps at 1440p almost the end of the 1440p era with the best graphics card
what's wrong with the world
What?
Black Myth Wukong is one of the very few games that show these results
Almost 200fps average across 17 games at maxed out settings and the video even says the GPU is being CPU limited.
I guess people can’t always understand or appreciate that 😄
it's the 1440p era now.Soon there will be an era of 4k.I don't understand how the best video card end of the era has 60 fps on 1440p
Also, majority of PC gamers use 1080p,
So we’re not at the end of 1440p.
No idea where you’re getting your information from, but it’s wrong on both accounts.
considering the lead the 4090 already had over the 7900 XTX I would have expected the 5090 to further pull ahead. Not sure I would buy a 5090 when the pricing of most of them is more than double that of a 7900 XTX, even though it offers close to 2x the performance. 5090 also uses quite a bit more power to get there
2x the power and 2x the price sounds about right for 2x the performance.
ps3 720p ps4 1080p and ps5 1440p
isn't quite 2x the power, that will vary on the models compared but if it was only reference model vs FE there is about 200W in it (347W vs 550W iirc)
I don’t see how console resolutions are relevant to PC gaming. As I said, most people still use 1080p. So we’re not even “end of 1080p” yet.
Because the reviewer says it’s being CPU limited. Meaning, there’s more juice in the 5090.
So being close to 2x, as well as being limited, is a sign that the GPU can get close to and be 2x, I mean, it’s not far off anyway.
people with 1080p monitor usually have 90 fps in aaa games because they have rtx4060 or something like that and this is console level 1440p 45 frames
What is 45fps?
double checked and it is 355W vs 575W
I honestly have no idea where you’re getting FPS numbers from
tests and statistics and logic
So 2x performance for about 60-70% more power draw seems good to me
Wut
statistics say that a gamer with a 1080p monitor has a RTX 4060 or its equivalent
RTX 50 series issues aside I probably would have bought a 5090 by now just for its sheer performance as I would have loved to experience a GPU that powerful
Oki
Don’t worry, I’ll do it on your behalf 🙏✨
and RTX 4060 gives 90 fps aaa in games in 1080p I already forgot which games exactly but they aaa
1440p is almost two 1080p
I need more clarification but I'm too lazy
if I had a 5090 I'd be cranking every game to maxed settings, ray tracing included with the help of DLSS but going no lower than performance preset (or 50% scaling) as that would be the equivalent to rendering at 1080p before upscaling takes effect and there would be no frame generation active. There's a gif suitable for this somewhere 😄
Always makes sense to hold out as long as you can and then enjoy the bigger differences. Most people don’t upgrade every cycle.
Just like every PS5 player isn’t going to get a Pro.
Most people wait 1-2-3+ gen cycles.
I saw a guy on Reddit who traded a 780 for a 5090 so he held out for a long time 😄
I still won’t use RT !
I want the frame! 😄
Oh damn. Yeah, I’m thinking to wait until 70 series lol
7090 starting price probably $100,000 by the time it’s out 😭
Easy
I gave my PC to my brother. I need to assemble a PC.I'm afraid of the price.
The ASUS 5090 Astral is £3,000 here
7060*
I just hope next few generations are a more significant jump in raw performance
lol
It seems like 5k dollars in 5-8 years isn't that much
Nah we’re on the AI and DLSS wave so it’s all artificial
other than the 4090 > 5090 leap I hope so too but I think Nvidia really are keeping their best for last (flagship) now
Frame gen is just not something I care for because it’s only really useful if you have high frame rates
90s are the real leap
Everything below is repackaged and marked 70/80 with 5% perf boost and AI
Plus increase in price, of course
And less VRAM
4090 -> 5090 only being a 20/30% increase in raw performance isn’t really that significant imo
I mean, that’s how it’s always been though.
3090 to 4090 was a much more significant leap
4090 about 60% more powerful than 3090ti
I bought rtx 4060 two years ago and gave it to my brother but I don't want to buy rtx 5060 because it is a little more powerful than rtx 4060.
I use 4k
and the price leap wasn't nearly as bad either around 6%
at one point there used to be an 80 Ti SKU that would get very close to the flagship card (Titans) while costing quite a bit less. Don't see anything like that happening nowadays but if it did it may be when I make a return to owning an Nvidia GPU. Imagine $1099 for ~90% of a 5090 ($1999) performance. I'd be like TAKE MY MONEY
Then yeah, 60%
Maybe that generation was just an exception
But obviously I will always hope for the best possible raw performance
Nvidia started their downfall at the 30 series
some may say it started after the 10 series
I mean, Nvidia clearly state the DLSS performance is what’s going to give you the extra performance
I am very humiliated.
Some say it started before the company began
In all seriousness,
There is no downfall of Nvidia right now.
They’re making record profits.
Still funny how the CEOs of AMD and Nvidia are related
i meant in the gamers are secondary now department
iirc they lost profit in the gaming division
kinda cool IMO actually that they are related
Nah, apparently google says gaming is less important but still grew 9%
AI frames is something that I worry for more game optimisation wise
Monster hunter wilds being a good example of that
I know perfectly well that I will only have money for the RTX5060 but I don't want to buy it .I know that he is enough for me but I am humiliated
Nvidia changed after they launched RTX 20 series. Definitely isn't a downfall but I don't like this changed Nvidia. No more 1080 Ti launches. That is in my eyes the last card that really wow'd me in terms of price and performance. Screw paying $1199 for a Titan at the time when a 1080 Ti cost $699+ and gave something like 90% of the performance you'd expect to see from a Titan
i wonder how christmas or thanksgiving is for them lol
Logic tells me everything is fine, but I feel humiliated
looked it up, apparently gaming revenue did fall by by late 2025 but increased by 9% this year
now i remembered what is happening with the rtx 4060 priced at 300 bucks and the rtx 4090
No, it fell in quarter and overall was up 9% for the full year
Too many bucks not enough pounds
The king won’t be happy
I understand the comparison is slightly incorrect
shame that I don't see it happen now but it would be funny if AMD took a page out of old Nvidia's books and offered a flagship GPU at say $1299 then later released what would be an 80 XT card that could somehow reach about 90% of the flagship card's performance while have a bit less VRAM and costing something like $749-799
the best video card for 1100 dollars and it is pointless to buy it from a video card for 700 bucks
I want to cry
😭
Hey guys I have a lot of problems with my Xbox app how can I get it back to working like new
I tried uninstalling and installing the app and it didn't work.
Found an old r7 240 card to put in upcoming build
Was gonna go for a 5700G for igpu but with this I don’t need that and can get a better cpu
It’s just a server for now so all I need is to be able to display to a monitor and this is more than enough
would anyone know how to fix the error 0x80070490 on Windows 10 using the reset button it just sits there and spins and spins, and the option to move it is grayed out
Can you boot into safe mode or recovery options
How can we do this?
I’m here to help you but you still need to Google stuff
Google “windows 10 boot into safe mode”
Ok what do I type in Google lol because I don't find anything
I literally just told you
how do i mod my games
on xbox game pass i mean
when i go to files its like content and a bunch of useless files
on PC?
yes
are isnt manny games that support mods on the xbox store on PC depends on the game.
dang
how do i know if it supports because all my games where like content and bunch of stuff
i think the ue4 games are just drag and drop via xbox pc app
i could install mods in avowed
can i mod doom eternal?
i dont know look it up. some of the older games are encrypted on win 10/xbox pc
Am I the only guy who thinksbyhe smaller cards look Adorable? Like they're lil baby cards!
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-releases-massive-gpu-driver-update-addressing-stability-and-black-screen-issues looks like some good news for RTX 50 series owners at last!
GeForce RTX driver update with lots of fixed for black screens NVIDIA has just released a new driver, which appears to be one of the largest updates this year. The new driver, listed as 576.02 WHQL, is a release for the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti series. Note, this driver does not seem to be ready […]
5060 Ti 16GB is attractive. might buy.
I hope it can handle 16gb
why cant I change country when signing up for gamepass pc?
Cause u should only use where u live. Any other reason breaks tos
must have made a mistake when I made my account then
I just hope they actually fixed the issues
Yay!
I get system on Saturday or Wednesday.
They are going to use the Gigabyte 5090 Gaming OC version
@smoky flame Sneak Peak at my Build
The 5090 is in 😄
Maxed out the case fans too, so with the AIO, theres 10 Fans !!
Hope it dont have any rops loss
You’ve gone with the corsair fans as well I see
They are pretty good but I don’t like icue
I'm hoping for extra ROPs
Yeah they will match the AIO fans since thats also Corsair, inside a Corsair case 😄
Very nice
That’ll be another £500 please!- some Nvidia sales rep /s 😄
Lol
Yeah, you have a similar case as me
Nice!
I think you changed your nickname
RTX 5075 lol
id be surprised if it did considering its a non existent ossue
dunno. just want an upgrade for my girlfriend lol 🤷♂️
sup
Sorry that'll be releasing with the 5090 ti
I cant even type the glasses emoji??
Ah yes good server
At least I'm gonna unsubscribe from xbox game app, terrible scam
I want the Nvidia RTX 5090 Super Ti Ultra Omega Pro Max Quantum Nano Supreme ROG STRIX Platinum Hydro GALOX Neon ARGB XTX Ultimate edition
Not enough AI buzzwords in this, you're fired
I was saving that for next gen 😭
I worry about future of gpus. Especially if they rely a lot on upscaling and AI.
I don’t worry, I just accept what it is and deal with it 😄
You can only vote with your wallet and the majority going to do what they going to do.
..
I don't think the game will be much bigger than it is now
people are satisfied with an old engine that is 10 years old, he will say that it is incredibly beautiful
I'll probably take a rest on Friday
is there a chat to talk about the gamepass conversion? I might need help
thank you!
99% of 5060tis aren't msrp
some 8 gig mobels are more expensive then the 16 gig models
clown society
just looked at one of the sites that sells GPUs here in the UK (Scan UK) and cheapest I'm seeing the 5060 Ti 16GB is £399 and idk what MSRP is meant to be for these cards
Pretty insane there is still an 8GB version of the 5060Ti
I get 16 gig 5060ti but a 8 gig nah. That makes no sense for less vram for the ti variant
Yeah 8GB should only be on entry level cards at this point
Even that is too low now. Probably XX50 or lower
12GB should be the bare minimum for midrange market
afaik PNY is the only one selling at MSRP but £399 is the msrp of that card, can you check if you saw a pny card?
They make gpus. I thought they make usb flash drives?
yeah, theyve been producing cards for ages
perhaps a united states exclusive
theyre literally the ones who produce the reference cards/quadro cards/FE for nvidia
They're Nvidias closest partner basically
Man..
the problem is that a 300 dollar video card can only handle 8 GB
the rx 7600 has 8gb but it's a little worse than the rx 7600 xt
its still nice to have with how games are wanting more and more vram
ive been riding on 6gb vram and i dont wana get a card with only 8GB
you have a laptop?
yeah and i recently build a desktop and just waiting for christmas to get a real gpu
Just gonna use it as a home server for now
it really isnt though if it contributes literally nothing
it doesnt take a genius to figure out that 8GB is not an issue, and that VRAM is just the current buzzword
https://imgur.com/a/IRAztNf
if your complaint is VRAM, no it isnt. you just need a faster card 😹
Not complaining about VRAM. It’s not causing issues for me right now. But I’d much rather have more than less and it’s getting close to the point of needing 12
no, its getting to the point where outdated cards with 8GB are.. outdated
its not like a 1080 Ti or a 3060 with 11/12GB are doing better than faster 8GB cards
I just want a better video card, RTX 4060 can't handle 1440p, it's on par with PS5
it was a tire issue
rtx 3060 12gb more bus
than rtx 4060
well yeah, a 4060 is a relatively slow card. its not like you should expect it to run 1440p well in modern AAA titles
it came out for 300 bucks in 23 when ps5 was 2 years older
yes the core rt is better there
in almost 3 years they created a video card for 300 bucks with ps5 level graphics
you say this as if its faster
I want the new xbox to be windows
the 4060 is still a faster GPU than the 3060, despite it having +4GB
I'm not saying that she's faster
interesting. how come?
I'm saying that the tire there is bigger
What tire?
The video card has so many properties that it is not enough to be faster
RTX 3060 12GB: 192-bit bus, bandwidth around 360 GB/s.
RTX 4060 8GB: 128-bit bus, bandwidth around 272 GB/s.
I really doubt the next xbox console (not talking about handheld) will be windows like the pc os edition not the stripped down modified version of current xbox os
Its more likely next gen consoles will still need custom SOCs
Honestly, for work I have enough Mac Mini on M4. I want to buy games on steam I want to be a gamer on pc
On ur mini mac or a straight up pc?
play on regular pc
Good plan
but not a good plan, it will be expensive
