Sorry they both have a similar name i got mixed up wulong and wukong
oh
Wo Long
no, that's a japanese game from Team Ninja
this is a chinese RPG from...Game Science that's been making news rounds for 3-4 years now
Probably be as difficult as other soulslike game.
the people yearn for the difficulty
Well its not for me. I never gotten into souls games.
Shatterline?
No one plays Shatterline?
I’ve not heard of it
any USB keyboard should be fine, Razer make some good keyborads and a few with xbox in mind
What about the mouses
same
So I should rather buy a wired mouse more than a wireless?
Depends on your setup. If you’re couch gaming wireless is probably better because look of style.
It’s just a office desk in my bedroom
And the Xbox is on the right hand side of the monitor
@smoky flame did they release the fix for amd inception vulnerability for windows?
not afaik
I think the only way for it to be applied is via a BIOS update that includes microcode and AGESA updates. At least that's how I keep things up to date. Those on AM4 platform may be expected to wait longer for these updates if the Zenbleed patch was anything to go by where AMD aren't rushing out an update and told affected users will be waiting until at least December for an update but since Inception affects more recent CPUs (including Zen 4) it'll probably release soon
oh well. since i have zen 3 i guess i have 2 wait
keep an eye out on your motherboard's BIOS updates page and if it shows a new non beta version update it
ihavent updated my bios sincei built pc
what motherboard you got?
B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2
hmm and you have a 5600 yeah? that CPU would have required at least BIOS version F15, according to the CPU Support page for that motherboard and that was dated January 13th, 2022
Hi!
I am saving up for my first gaming pc
i was thinking of a mid tier prebuild cuz a custom is too expensive for me
anybody has some suggestions?
btw im in italy so i got to pay with damn euros
What are you hoping to play on it? And at what resolution, FPS and settings?
Dont forget about the budget
Depends how much you have to spend.
Building yourself is usually cheaper
So true.
^
sorry if i text now but here in italy it isnt that cheap building a custom
Try to find some prebuilds. Post link and we rate if they r decent enough. Before that answer what games u want to play resolution and fps
i will play games like cod minecraft roblox fortnite and some steam games i will later buy and i would like to get kinda high resolution and im ok with any fps higher than 60
ok man thx
i will find some cheap and good ones
i will search them for the most on the very good electronic shop kinda near my home
What games do u want to play at what resolution and what framerate
Probably want at least an RTX3060 and i5 12400F for that at 1080p as a starting point.
yea
i was first thinking about the msi mag infinite s3
it was on discount
but not anymore now
Anything should work
looks like Immortals of Aveum is another one of those "requires DLSS" titles. 4090 struggling at 4K ultra settings without it being set to at least Quality and idk about the game but it looks like a first person Remnants II/Souls like with magic so the wait may be on for me and UE5 games 😦
From what I've seen RTX 3080 is having issues even at 1440p
well Nvidia must be happy DLSS is finally seeing some use outside of saving gamer's bacon on ray tracing and path tracing games but I really didn't expect it to be like this
I was expecting it to be heavy based on the requirements but looking forward to seeing the DF video to break everything down.
yep, I'll be looking forward to that too. Just feels so tech demo-y right now though
Does it have fsr?
not that I've seen but considering DLSS is better than it in about every way (proven over and over again at this point) its kind of irrelevant really and of course no one is batting an eye at that yet all the uproar about Starfield not getting DLSS or XeSS support rages on
Damn. If thats the case i might as well get the game on my series x since it will be at 4k instead at 1440p on my 6800xt
Skill up said he was averaging 40fps at 1080p low on a 2080Ti
So basically anything 3070 or lower at least seems like an easy pick for console unless they improve performance.
I will wait til df video is released. But rn i leaning more torwards console version if i cant get at least 30fps at 4k on my rig
What’s the FPS on console?
No idea probably either 30 or 60 its why im waiting on a df video on it
It is 60 on consoles but I’m not sure what settings and resolution
Just referring to that skill up review again he said the PS5 version was a stable 60 looked much better than his 2080Ti rig
Thats very sad
Ps5 and series x probably between 1440 and 4k
Yeah when I come around to play it I should be able to push 140-180fps if not more.
3080 should not have issues at 1440p
Yeah it shouldn’t, I’ll be playing it when we got the Nvidia 6000 series most likely.
3080 and high end amd 6000 series should have issues at 4k not 1440p.
On PC I stick to 1440p as the display is 27” so it’s sufficient because you can instead get higher fps and turn up the settings.
I have at 4k144hz monitor so i go 4k on my 6800xt if i can
Weird windows 10 pro for workstation doesn't have a MAK option for My Visual Studio
MAK being multiple activation key. It's useful for dev work that requires you to reset a VM multiple times
Check out the real demo of the #ROGSWIFTOLED PG32UCDM monitor at #ROGGamescon2023. It's the world's first 32-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03 (GTG) response time, #QDOLED, superb cooling, and rich connectivity options.

For the low low price of 1500
Sounds about right for an OLED
I think it will cost a bit more. Closer, if not bang on $2000
For a 32" though
OLED + ASUS ROG tax. At least Nvidia don't seem to have got their hands on it and slapped in a gsync ultimate module (if that's still a thing?) as that would have been at least another $500 itself
Really? I thought the newer LG/Panasonic models had gsync? And they're not really more expensive than those without
TVs I mean
gsync compatible but no hardware module afaik. It would have cost a bit more if it included that
want to see a £3000+, 4K 32" Asus monitor? look up the PG32UQX 😄
Think I'll pass
I'd quite like a short throw 4K projector but finding one with DV is a joke
but yeah, I kind of worry about the price of that 4K 32" OLED due to that PG32UQX. If it does turn out to be around 1500 I'll be trying to find a way to sell my Neo G8 and get as much back on it as possible as that is a steal. I paid £1200 I think it was on this Neo G8 and it isn't OLED and that was my next target for a monitor. 4K 32" (identical to Neo G8), OLED or QD-OLED, non curved (Neo G8 is VA, curved) and at least 240Hz (matches Neo G8 at 240Hz)
biggest addition I hope to see is the inclusion of Displayport 2.1 as that will surpass the bandwidth even HDMI 2.1 has but to push 4K 240Hz at 10 bit, it will probably still require DSC
My bad. I heard wrong. It's 1500 for the curved 34" model. No price yet on the 32"
OLED 240Hz is faster than LCD 240Hz in terms of motion clarity due to instant response times, it’s superior in that respects, so it’s more accurate to say that than matches.
I’m so excited for the 1440p 480Hz model
That will be my insta-buy.
wow, that is disappointing the lack of Displayport 2.1. Not like its not supported even Intel apparently support Displayport 2.0 on their ARC GPUs and AMD's RX 7000 series supports 2.1 up to 54Gbps. Only Nvidia holding everyone back. Which must be a rare thing to say these days
It’s odd because I don’t think this monitor has a Nvidia Module so there shouldn’t be any limitations on ports.
Maybe the own brand version will have the ports as Samsung & LG usually do offer it.
ASUS is known to put out the best product and then limit it via ports in the past.
true
hello hello my friends
why does my controller goes 100% on rt and lt when i press lt and is hard to get to 100% rt when i press rt
Not sure what you mean
Maybe the sensitivity of the button?
.
i press lt and both buttons are at 100% pressed
and the rt button works very badly
how do i change it( controller itself)?
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/immortals-of-aveum-benchmark-test-and-performance-analysis/4.html wow, is it just me or do i see no difference between low and ultra settings?
It's you.
It's clearly sharper, better lighting and shadows.
There is a huge mind blowing difference. It does seem like they haven't got a wide range for the different settings, but there is a definite difference.
doesn't look that much better though. Hell, I'd argue low looks a little better but seeing this I won't be touching that game (native 4K, no upscaling in use). What a joke to rely on DLSS etc. I'd understand the reliance on it with ray tracing enabled maybe but afaik neither this game nor Remnants 2 have ray tracing and performance is just sad. These are $1000+ GPUs
Dang even 4090 is having a hard time with it
I'm really not sure it is but let me check again.
first side by side comparison I see no real change. Either must be an error with the comparison or something. Never seen low and ultra this close in a game. I genuinely can't pick out major differences yet usually low to ultra would be night and day apart
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/remnant-2-benchmark-test-performance-analysis/4.html let me pick on the other UE5 game I mentioned above. Now this is more of what I'd expect. Very noticeable
Does that mean the games needs to optimized for ue5 games or do we need to wait for amd 8000 series or nvidia 50 series gpus
I'm not even sure RTX 50 series or RX 8000 series will help that much with games like this. Probably still won't reach, let alone pass 60 FPS. That would be suggesting increases in performance of some 50%+ that's at least two generations worth
Or just switch to console for ue5 games until drivers and gpus are properly optimized
Especially at sub 60fps at 4k on 4090
If its like that on 4090 imagine on the previous generation of gpus
It's a combination of things
only alternative would be to drop to 1440p or 1080p but why when most would call you out for gaming at those resolutions on GPUs like those? I've been called out a few times gaming at 1080p on a 1080Ti. I'd actually have preferred to have stuck to 1080p gaming if it meant far better performance and even allows for enough headroom where RT can be enabled without uttering the word "upscaling"
m!sunucu
DLSS can look really good sometimes though, even better than native resolution in many cases. I'd imagine that will only improve over time as well so playing at higher resolutions isn't as much of a cost.
I would wait til df puts out a vid on the new ue5
that's just DLSS though. FSR and XeSS haven't impressed nearly as much as DLSS hasthough tbh with what Nvidia invested in it I'd expect as much. It's like we'd got the the good (FSR, open to all GPUs no specific hardware requirements), the bad (DLSS, locked to Nvidia hardware and 3.0 further locked to RTX 40 series) and the in-between (XeSS, open to all hardware but does have some specific instruction set(s) that when in use will assist Intel GPUs too a greater level)
How does xess compare to fsr?
some comparisons have put XeSS above FSR and that was not including the additional Intel GPU instruction sets that further enhanced quality and performance of XeSS, by that point Intel GPU + XeSS can't be far behind DLSS
Yep!
3090 ain’t bad at all
Just needed the cooler serial
lessgo!
Def not for $500
dang good happy birthday
Happy Borthday @heavy marsh
Dang I wish I had a 3090 for $500
I paid like $800 for my 3080 TI like 6 months ago
I love how my keyboard supports QMK so I can program pretty much anything on it. Right now my main customization is having the function key act as the context menu key but change functions if I double tap and hold it
Sweet
nice setup
Indeed a sweet setup, personally I'm out here looking what parts to get for a PC built through school lol
Oh that's a beast
damn I only got the i7
i7-13700K?
That’s only about 1-5% behind a 900K
Max 10% slower, you’d probably be limited in some other way like GPU before you see a major difference.
When it comes to gaming, it’s really close
Yeah different class then, desktop i7 in 13th Gen is the 700K
On what?
My Laptop
Yeah but on what application
Xbox GameBar doesn't lie
You’re not getting 900 fps on Far Cry 6
Osu!
I can guarantee you that your laptop will not outperform desktop components
What’s Osu
yeah I know that. obviously

Musical game?
yeah, some musical game. I've seen a few people play it and don't understand it tbh lol
I remember I played like a very very basic game that was just 2D slides and hit 8,000 FPS
Yeah, was crazy
A friend of mine with a 4090 also benchmarked 3DMark06 and got a crazy high score compared to my 2007 rig
Was funny to see it against my old 8800 GTX
lol, I can imagine. 4090 destroys even the most recent of 3Dmark benchmarks but that isn't at all surprising considering the monstrous power it has
I think he ran it limited to refresh rate
Or else unlocked would have got far more
Either that or would have broke the benchmark
I had a OG 16.7K score
He got 70K
I Want to open up my nitro 5 to clean it, but im scared as hell that i will mess something up and ruin it.
im a very clumsy person in general.
Does the Xbox wireless controller connect to pc and supposedly work for 2k24 but idk if you would know that yet but if it works with 23 it should work with 24?
What happens if I want to play baldurs gate 3 and have worse graphic than a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970? It simply won't start?
Let’s gooooo! Looking clean!
I have gamepass but when I try to download a game it says "join for 9.99" and wont let me install
what case is that? looks like it has a lot of space
fractal meshify 2
best in class for the size tbh. i looked through like 50 options. sam can attest to that lol
i LOVE the polygon front, sub
mind the mess; im cleaning up before installing the GPU
ooh, yeah. Great choice
thanks!
pc building will be messy, lol. I'd say you aren't doing it right if there isn't some mess 😄
facts tbh
also, I can understand with the case choice. There is so many and it is very frustrating to find just the right one. I got an NZXT H7 Flow back in May or something that was meant for my system and still haven't put it in that case and ever since been having a whole bunch of second thoughts on it. Might yet look at another case and it just so happens that was one that came to mind (though it is on the large side compared to what I currently use) and unbelievably I've got some Noctua NF-A14 Chromax sitting in their boxes gathering dust too 😅
Exactly!!!
now i just gotta make sure i got my airflow right. i have no idea what the default is for the included fans but i have the rad set up for top exhaust despite the recommendation for it to be intake
im a rebel
even thought of exploring another Fractal Design case, the Torrent but the power supply placement I find strange and just not sure about. Top of the case at the rear, positioned just above the CPU cooler so the power supply fan would be sucking in the hot air off a CPU cooler (unless using an AIO or custom loop) and I can't imagine that would be good for the power supply at all but it was one of the best cases of 2022
FWIW Gamers Nexus rated the Meshify 2 and Meshify 2 XL as two of the best of 2021-2023
but yeah i skipped the Torrent for the same reason
pretty sure an AIO installed at the top is best used as an exhaust so I think you got it right. I'd find intake from the top strange but then again the airflow 101 I got from another server some time ago taught me how little I really knew about case and airflow (and it is something I plan to work on and correct)
Oh I got ghost pinged here lol
There are still cases that put the PSU at the top? What year is this?
The year is 4501. Pcs have become embedded into your brain. Power supplies rest on the top of your head.
Fans are installed to.... actually, never mind.
Usually psu is installed on the bottom of the case
I was wrong earlier, picking school pc parts was easy
https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/torrent/torrent/black-solid/ this is the case that has the power supply at the top (and no other airflow options for the top of the case either) and iirc I was also told that not only is the power supply being at the top an old school thing but~~ support for huge 200mm fans is too~~? Every time I look at the case I can't help but feel I want to get it but the awkward layout will probably lead to a non standard installation and constant worrying about how the power supply would cope with the heat of a 7950X3D getting blasted right into it on top of its own operating temperature
hold up, 180mm fans? I was sure it supported 200mm. This a revision?
AMD set to reveal some more GPUs and maybe even some juicy info on FSR 3 a little later today. Can't wait!
I wouldnt use a case with psu ontop cause worry if psu holder breaks. With psu at bottom it cant go anywhere
All the pcs in my place have psu at the bottom
Plus amd driver update for starfield
PSUs were at the top of cases for 30 years
breakage isnt a concern. its thermals
hot air rises though so i still get it
wasn't fast enough to take some screenshots of the AMD stream and their announcements but 7700 XT and 7800 XT available from September 6th. HYPR-RX available on AMD Software from the first week of September and FSR 3 supported in Forspoken (with the new upcoming DLC) and Immortals of Aveum and a bunch of other games from Fall. To top it all off FSR 3 support in driver from Q1 2024 with integrated HYPR-RX support too. Meaning thousands of DirectX 11 and 12 titles can benefit from it. No specific hardware requirements either. Even Nvidia GTX 10 series can use FSR 3 on supported games and older AMD cards can use FSR 3 + HYPR-RX on the driver side
6th September 2023 will be interesting
You and I have spoken about PSU at the top of the case being the old standard.
RGB! RGB!
she lookin nice tho
i still need to give her a name. I have named all my computers some form of an "S" name since 2003
currently we have Scout and Soteria active
very pretty system!
thanks! considering swapping the default fractal's for noctua chromax i have but meh
also, I like the idea of naming a system tbh. I thought about calling mine Libra but there is nothing balanced (as in the star sign, Libra and the scales) about my system 😄
we have settled on Selene for the new build
and thanks! it started way back when, when i bought two corsair cases. one was Scout and one was Sniper
think I am gonna get that 7800 XT card, not building mine for awhile, just gonna do what I did last time and buy the parts when I got the cash as I go along
I wondering how much perf of 7800xt over 6800xt?
Wsg
no clue but I havent had a new PC in near 10 years now so doesnt matter to me tbh the differences.
one problem with the 7800 XT that is spotted is that it may actually be weaker than the 6800 XT. AMD appear to have dropped quite a number of compute units on it this time around when compared to its predecessor, 6800 XT. 60 vs 72 CUs and idk but that 12 CUs difference could lead to be a big deal. I think the date reviews go up for the new GPUs is the same day they release (September 6th) so I guess we'll find out for sure then
that sort of thing doesnt bother me at all, I was just gonna get another 3060 but stuck in a 3080 aswell to see if that drops in price. and then AMD come out with that new card today so eh not bothered. especially someone who wont be using it all the time for gaming and def not at 4K
I just want something for PC Game Pass titles, still gonna be using my SeriesX aswell
ahh, well yeah the 7800 XT should be a great card. AMD claim it will go good for 1440p maxed settings so that's a solid GPU and at around $500 a pretty good price I'd say too (though AIB designs will probably cost a bit more)
well I wont be getting till sometime 2024 so yeah something may happen between now and then
You can’t just compare the number of CUs and devise a conclusion
I have a strange feeling we may yet see a 7800 XTX as there is quite a bit of space between the 7800 XT and 7900 XT in terms of compute units. 60 CUs on the 7800 XT and 84 CUs on the 7900 XT and the step down seemed to be 12 CUs per SKU (96, 84, 72, 60. 48) but of course it hasn't quite worked like that. There is also a similar sized gap with CUs at the lower end between the 7700 XT and 7600
sure but that is a sizeable loss of CUs so it will be interesting to see how it compares to its predecessor and it may show from there just how much better RDNA 3 CUs are compared to RDNA 2. Frequency isn't much higher than a 6800 XT either
But isnt 6800xt a 4k card but 7800xt isnt?
An OC version can be, a standard one I’d say isn’t
It will be about 10% faster.
I have the 6800xt merc i play majority of my games at 4k
Depends on so many factors - your settings, games, target FPS and so on.
Like rdr2
From benchmarks it’s not a strong 4K card.
But if you target 30-60fps, then sure, it can work.
Nice 👌✨
It maybe on the weaker side compared to 6900xt and 3090 but its still a 4k card.
Only games i have issues r on new games or cpu intensive games like hogwarts and cyberpunk
That’ll just become a more common theme as newer games come out, some games the card does great to be a 4K60 card and other games it doesn’t,
But again, if you’re happy then you’re happy 🙂
6900 XT wasn't really that much stronger than the 6800 XT, it topped out at 80CUs (only 8 more than a 6800 XT) and for that there wasn't really a great deal of improvement. That kind of came a little later with the 6950 XT. Same CUs count but higher frequency on both core and memory clocks than both the 6800 XT and 6900 XT. Craziest part is the 6900 XT was priced at a halo tier pricing $999 vs $699 on the 6800 XT and idk about others but I'd find it very hard to recommend the 6900 XT at $999 when there is a GPU some $300 cheaper that is almost as good. Though of course we didn't really get to see those kinds of prices until late on, before RDNA 3 launched and AMD changed things up quite a bit with them and their pricing
So 7800xt will be weaker than 6800xt
that won't be known for sure until the reviews with the figures are out but I just can't help but feel the loss of 12 CUs is going to play a big part in reviews, especially those comparing the 7800 XT to the 6800 XT directly. I may be wrong though
Yeah im wondering about the lost of the 12 cu units will it affect the 7800xt perf drastically
Though i probably wont get anything til 8000 or 9000 series
we can at least go by the on paper specs for now
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-7800-xt.c3839
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-6800-xt.c3694
You can’t compare the CU of old & new gen, it doesn’t work like that.
surely when there is more of the last gen to the new it may somewhat counter things though? Looking at the 6700 XT to the 7700 XT that is a straight up upgrade and quite a sizeable one at that
The only way the 7800 XT would be slower than a 6800 XT is that the former is now lower in tier
Whereas previously you had 6900, 6800
Now you have 7900 XTX, 7900XT, 7800XT
yeah, the new naming has thrown me well off at this point lol
So you could say the 7800 XT is in competition with the 6700XT
In that respects, which would be confusing so then I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s slower
So I’ll take back my claims it’ll be that much faster
The 7900 XT is 30% faster than a 6800 XT
So if you’re comparing CUs
That’s 84 for the 79
And 72 for the 68
But again, it’s not as simple as that from Gen to Gen
I understand that somewhat
Yeah, especially as the price is $500 for the 78?
yup
$699 though crypto kind of threw that price out the window
Well, yeah, officially though 😄
could be AMD also considered the price of the 6800 XT and didn't want to price the 7800 XT the same or more as I'm not sure right now that would have been a good move
Gamers Nexus said 449 for the 7700 and 499 for the 7800. No clue if that's true but I finished their vid on it
Turns out the 7800 XT is the RDNA 3 equivalent to the 6800 (non XT, "launched" for $579) CUs match the 6800 (60 CUs) but from there core and memory speeds are different and then there is the obvious RDNA 3 architecture improvements. There is also an improvement with the memory bandwidth and the only thing the 6800 has over the 7800 XT is L3 cache. Probably just about enough to get it to around 6800 XT level but it will be at least better than a 6800
yeah, the pricing was announced earlier, along with the release date at Gamescom
Definitely seems like a skip generation for most people unless you go for the real top end cards for both amd and nvidia
not sure about that tbh. It's already at least $80 cheaper than a 6800 while being better, perhaps even equalling a $699 GPU in the 6800 XT. going by launch prices, things are obviously different now but the RX 6000 series cards being compared are over 2 years old and current pricing will show that, may even tip the scales in the older hardware's favour
apparently it's meant to be super easy for devs (idk for sure, stuff I've heard) to add support for DLSS and/or XeSS after one solution is added to a game so I can see Nvidia owners getting their wish of seeing DLSS on Starfield but probably not before FSR 3 is added will they see DLSS 3
FSR is also open iirc
yep, FSR is open to all GPUs, as is Intel's XeSS (has further hardware optimizations for Intel GPUs too) though is often ripped apart by reviewers for being poorer quality than DLSS. If I'm not right in saying DLSS will always be superior due to the machine learning capabilities and dedicated hardware Nvidia have so it is almost a David vs Goliath type comparison. If and when AMD do add ML to FSR it will probably be locked to RDNA 3 and newer since they have the hardware capability to do so with AI accelerators making them no better than Nvidia then, which is not what AMD want - and made that very clear during Gamescom yesterday
looks like there is some limitations to FSR 3 support. That's almost all of Polaris wiped out and Vega not even mentioned so there may yet be some truth in a future driver dropping support for Polaris (RX 400, 500 and 600) and Vega (56, 64, Radeon VII and integrated graphics onboard APUs)
Why the hell is forspoken on fsr 3 list
an upcoming DLC is adding support for FSR 3
can someone explain what is exactly means with the input lag stuff on the fsr 3 page
anti-lag+ I guess is just an enhancement of anti-lag. I've never really understood the whole workings of the feature myself tbh but I think it is meant to work similarly to Nvidia's ultra low latency option in their drivers and I guess Anti-Lag+ will be AMD's equivalent to Nvidia Reflex that may also require hardware accelerated GPU scheduling to be enabled within Windows settings graphics options at a later date
they just have the console review of immortals of aveum on console by df
they use fsr upscale from 720p and image suffer for it
Anyone know if Acer Nitro laptop line is any good? Someone was telling me Acer was low quality
Depends what the specs are
And if it fits your needs for the price
anyone knows if i buy texas chainsaw game on xbox can i play it on pc?
No
They are separate versions
Anyone know of a good replacement PSU for this setup?
GTX 1070
I7 4790
16gb ram
500gb ssd
620w bronze power supply
Nzxt h440 case
Msi z87 G45 gaming motherboard
Be Quiet Dark Rock Slim
need to start thinking about replacing more than your power supply my guy
Honestly get a psu and a GPU and a nvme and your golden
probably good with a 650W gold power supply and being what it is don't cheap out on it but yeah, that whole system really needs upgrading at this point. If you choose to upgrade I'd suggest going with at least 850W gold power supply (1000W if Intel/Nvidia high end)
Well ya, but this is just a “starting” PC until I can afford like a $3k super rig
Thanks
I'd just start fresh tbh mate and pick up bits when and where you can looking on PCpart picker for best deals and compatibility
Ya it just a bunch of work. But worth it in the end I guess. I get it
I built a RTX3070/Ryzen 5600x rig for around £850 and then just upgraded to a 4070 for the vram
true, if you are saving up to get a $3K super rig I'd just begin to build towards that now. Once you got the power supply everything else can follow over time
and that's with a 750w gold psu and corsair case and rgb fans, you could get it cheaper than even that
thing is as well you wanna think about doing it sooner rather than later because GPU are apparently going to become scarce again due to AI companies buying em all up
1000 watt power supply is around 200 dollars totally worth it
but it's up to you mate
meh, GPU's are very low power draw now 1000w is ooverkil
rtx4080 recommended psu is 750w so you know
Yep, PC gaming is super expensive, confusing, and exhausting
overkill now but future proofing with 1000w is there
not really you can get a 1080p build for a meesly 500 dollars
The build I have is 1080p
GPU's get more efficent not less, my 4070 draws less power than my old 3070
i have a rx 580 its basically very perfect for what i play but i wanna upgrade it
Plus, with a console. I literally buy it, plug it in and play. Don’t have to worry about upgrading hardware or buying new parts
you have to worry about upgrading hardware every generation
it's easier than you think to build one and like hawk just said, you can upgrade it as an when and hopefully it'll be more future proofed
3 years in and we're already seeing games on PS5/ Xbox running at 720p
not great
Ya, but the company decides the hardware equally and when they need to
with PC gaming there is no such thing as future proofing. Only how much can I spend to make sure this PC isn't going to be obsolete within a year. The higher end you go, the better but of course that will increase the cost significantly in the shot term but longer term that rig then may be good for 3-4 years rather than 1-2 years
Sometimes not in the gamers best interest though
That’s why I want to invest one at like $3-4k. A lot of money but something to last me a long time
you can buy a PC and if it's good enough spec you can run that for as long as a 8 year console cycle
unironically depending on what you play its simply not needed
if you play a bunch of mmos a meesly 8gb vram gpu is the best option
i been rocking the rx 580 for 3 years now and every game i personally play supports it with no signs of it dying
If I want to run RDR 2 or Crysis at 4K 120 FPS perfectly, I need a great system
ya then 2 to 3k pc is needed
exactly all in all my Rig cost me like £1400 with the GPU upgrade and I plan on using it for the next 5 - 6 years at least
4K 120fps?
good luck
the new games to be wary of are those that run on Unreal Engine 5. Bringing even rigs with 13900KS and 4090 to their knees. What's otherwise a 4K gaming system
That is my ultimate goal. To have a system where I can run the most intense games and have that experience
starfield is going to have a disaster pc launch i can already feel it ngl
yeah it's CPU and Vram issues mainly
a game of that calaber is just not feezable to not have a disaster of a pc launch
Starfield is going to fail regardless. I don’t know how people trust Bethesda after fallout 76 and redfall
don't jinx it pls I'm so excited hahahaha
how come? it doesn't run with Unreal Engine 5 so should be good for a wider range of hardware being able to run it
Judging your Pic I'd guess you'd say that, Bethesda didn't make redfall
i personally dont even care what bethesda is making its a ground work for what i wanna see modders do out of it
But they were the ones in charge of it
based on history of pc launches for games of massive calabers theres majority of always going to be issues with studders and stuff at launch
right...
Bethesda Maryland (the elder scrolls fallout team) didn't make 76 either, I'm very confident it will be good
Ok fair enough
i think it will be good but i dont think it will have a good launch
IMO, starfield reminds me of one other game. No mans sky. And how did that launch do?
we will have to see, can join the long list of bad PC ports this year then hahaha
i think the biggest thing with it sourcing it is the majority of space games to this calaber dont really launch well
completely different games. other than space ships and scanning things they are nothing alike
closet comparison is literally just fallout 4 in space
that moment when you realize your just buying a rehashed version of skyrim
Both promise a huge universe to explore, with huge cities and diverse ecosystems. And no mans sky failed to deliver any of that on launch
yeah but no mans sky didn't show a 45 min gameplay walkthrough showing you it, they also didn't give reviewrs 2 weeks early access and lifting the review embargo a week before release
they seem confident man I wouldn't doubt them this time round seriously
Well to be fair, I doubt the gaming industry in general 🤷♂️
now that I can understand and agree with hahaha
I can't wait to play Starfield in about 4 days so I guess I'll see how it performs but so far failed to contain my excitement for the game 😄 Going to need to try and hold that back so to not spoil it for those waiting for the 6th 😅
tell me about it, got it preloaded onto my PC now with early access, Friday morning for me brother!
my system is as ready as could possibly be. Kind of upgraded earlier in the year with Starfield in mind
gone from a 5600X, 32GB DDR4, 6800 XT and 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD to a 7950X3D (impulse buy, should have waited a little longer on the 7800X3D), 32GB DDR5, 7900 XTX and 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD. At times I think I upgrade excessively 😄
I wanted to get into pc gaming for my upcoming 13th birthday but my mom probably cant afford one
Im still on the 360
That just sounds powerful man
I didn’t start getting into PCs until I was making my own money.
Had to restart my laptop and now wherever i open the xbox game bar it opens a tiny window with only audio settings, how do i get the whole game bar to show up? I'd send a picture to show what im talking about but i cant on this server.
mind i fyou dm me the picture ill open my dms rq

https://www.samsung.com/uk/monitors/gaming/odyssey-neo-g9-g95nc-57-inch-240hz-curved-dual-uhd-ls57cg952nuxxu/ damn, now there is a price on this. Didn't expect it to be cheap but £2200? Ouch. This now has me doubting 4K 32" OLED with displayport 2.1 will be much cheaper 😱
whats the best config for 500 bucks? come DMs
$500 really isn't going to get you much for a PC. Would need at least double (probably a bit more) that for something that may run some recent games at a decent framerate
Agreed. Save up ur money til black friday and decide then
Plus it also depends the type of games and what fps and resolution u want
This is very niche
4K 32” OLED is expected to be about £1500
I cant even imagine what kind of PC you need to push 2x 4k lol
Depends on the games you play
The 4090 can push 8K
And next gen is about 1 year away
That thing is insane though, jesus
My neck hurts just thinking about it
same
their previous Neo G9 coming in at 49" DQHD ultrawide were already crazy enough but this just takes the biscuit at 57" DUHD
So is the gamepass version of starfield mucky for modding the same as other gamepass BGS titles?
worst thing is no 4090 can even put it to full use since it supports Displayport 2.1 sure enough it has 1.4 to fall back on but it will require DSC then and idk if that will even cover what is it 7680x2160, 240Hz and 10 bit? Displayport 2.1 with at least 54Gbps puts it above even HDMI 2.1 in terms of bandwidth so if DSC is still required then it's got more bandwidth to work with before having to use it. Can't wait to see what Displayport 2.1 with its full 80Gbps bandwidth will be capable of though
afaik that's a thing of the past with games downloaded via the Xbox app on PC. Should be a lot either to mod games but have to wait and see to be sure. I can access all of Starfield's files without one access denied thing like was the case when you had to jump through various hoops to get into those same files on older games. That measure sure was annoying on older games so glad they done away with it (though it might still be in effect for the older games)
We probably wont know til the mods for starfield drop. Its the reason i got starfield 4 steam
does anyone know how to transfer any game files from xbox to pc? (without xbox cloud tho)
If the game is a play anywhere title
sounds like the game doesn't have cross-save. so no, it's not supported
Don Allen takes a look at the PC version of Immortals of Aveum. Just like the console versions, all Unreal Engine 5 features are deployed and they're suitably taxing on hardware - the difference this time is that superior upscaling options are available and in line with its demanding recommended hardware specs, it is possible to power your way t...
Damn 3080ti only around 1440p60 with dlss quality i wonder how it would look at 4k
I might get the game soon to see how it requires a 7950X3D for 4K 120 FPS. When set up correctly the 7950X3D effectively becomes a 7800X3D with the added bonus of some +200MHz and the frequency cores (or you could say the 7700X within it) parked. Usually at 4K the CPU hardly matters but I guess this may be a change in the times? I say the CPU hardly matters at 4K as there are instances where the likes of a 7600X could keep pace with the 7800X3D (within a 5% margin) and it's only really at 720p, 1080p and 1440p wider gaps between CPU performance is often found
Saw a few yt vids with the game and 6800xt at 4k. I probably need to lower a few settings to get 4k60 with fsr
as much as I don't like the tech I'd even suggest waiting for FSR 3's frame generation feature and if the RX 6000 series can use it, Native AA mode (AMD's equivalent to DLAA?) if they can be used together you gain additional frames but there is a cost with using Native AA
It probably have fsr 3 when i buy it. Which wont be this year at least
And i would only buy when its on sale
I probably buy for the ue5 experience over anything else
Fsr 3 needs a min of rx 5700 to be used
I'm aware of that and there are some features that are RX 6000 series and newer and then the likes of anti-lag+ that are exclusive to RX 7000 series. Unsure of where Native AA falls into all of the requirements
I’m wondering what CPU is needed for stable 60 fps. Seems like 5900x was able to do it for the most part but even that was having drops in the video
AMD's dual CCD CPUs kind of create a problem that there will be a latency hit when both CCD are in use. It isn't ideal so that might be where some performance loss is happening
I think I’ll try this one out when it’s on a sale at some point
I probably kept rt off in immortals of aveum
ideally I'd like to see AMD expand the core parking feature to non X3D, dual CCD processors as it might then improve performance and stability of games. Only difference is the scheduler for these CPUs would use the faster of the two CCDs as the gaming CCD and the slower one parked and AMD should further expand on the core parking allowing the slower CCD to maybe take up background tasks to further free up resources on the faster gaming CCD
Well immortals of aveum is going on my steam wishlist but rn i concerned about starfield
This game seems like such a mess
wow, kind of surprised Immortals of Aveum isn't 2-3x the size in download
yeah thought it would be like starfield size
steam shows install is 110 gigs
something isn't right with that CPU score. This is a 7950X3D we're talking here. At least I exceed the GPU budget. Weird budget limits
yeah its the most powerful gaming cpu on the market
i guess that the graphics benchmarks isnt working correctly
can i try it on ea play?
Need EA Play Pro to play it
i thought there is a 10 hour trial
Also just now finding it funny how the game play struggles to maintain 60 FPS yet the cinematics 150+ FPS no bother and I’d say they look better than the gameplay itself lol
No 10 hour trial for Immortals
damn. and thats with a 7900xtx and 7950x3d at 4k with or without upscaling?
4K maxed settings and no upscaling, yeah
i saw a guy on youtube with a 5900x and 6800xt max settings get like 40-60fps at 4k with fsr quality. that means i probably can get it if i lower my settings
If I get pc gamepass can I use any mods in the world let's say minecraft I can use any mods or does xbox only allow you to use certain mods
No, for Xbox one controllers, it's a proprietary signal
No, it uses the Xbox proprietary wireless protocol.
What about series?
Same
What does what mean?
So the usb is like a wireless mouse usb?
It's not bluetooth. It's a wireless connection unique to the Xbox system. Better latency and allows more devices to be connected at the same time.
Oh ok
Finally got my PC back from RMA. Now I can get Starfield installed ready for when I get back home on Sunday.
I read that starfield has cross save so may download it on the X and PC to compare
Its a play anywhere title
i need help for something

hi wz ii says that windows 11 is not supported. i haven't played it for a long time but i recall playing on w11
anyone who knows about discord on xbox plase check my community support issue my buddy cant share his screen and we cant find any help
its only available to insiders rn
also is it just me or is RTX 4090 looking kinda expensive
It's a halo tier product, out of reach to most people
halo?
The best and most expensive
I mean, it's not that expensive
you can still buy a laptop with a rtx 4090 on it
for like 3900$
$3900 is a lot of money for most people to spend on a PC
but it's a pc
If you look at the steam user data most people are using an RTX 3060 or lower and a 4/6 core CPU. A very small percentage will be spending $3900 on their PC just for gaming
Same. I couldnt afford to spend over 1k on the gpu
Laptop 4090 not same as Desktop 4090
You’re spending probably more to build a desktop capable of using the 4090.
I know here it would cost about £5-£6K for a top tier build.
why?
Laptop gpus are slower than the desktop versions. They are also limited the power draw, bandwidth etc.
Yeah see above
Seems like FSR2 is helping a lot with performance
At least we know now recommended is for 4k30
Indeed. 4090 seems too be the only card atleast now that can hit 4k 60 max without upscaling. 7900xtx just shy before official drivers
The amd starfield driver update just released within the last few hours
3080/6800xt can hit 4k around 30 to 40ish high without fsr. It can get 60fps with fsr win
Very nice
This is good news for 4070 owners. Looks like we'll be playing in 4k.
I am so excited for this game.
Whats shatterline
is god of war worth it
Yeah, it's a good time. God of war is great.
i just found out that my 9600k gets maxed out with a 2060 in cod cold war
If I play stardew valley from game pass is it the pc version or Xbox version
Well where are you playing it from?
Pc
then it'll be PC
i get around 50-70fps on high settings at 4k with my 6800xt.
Which one is better a rtx 2070 or a 6600 xt
6600Xt should be better overall
2070 will have DLSS2 though
6600Xt is probably closer to 2070 super in terms of raster performance
Not bad 🫡🚀
what do you think of starfield
Is this for a potato pc?
Cause i got all the goods up there on a 3060ti and a 5600x
seems like it was a rushed out list if anything
Should i try it at 1440p ultra or stay at 4k high with starfield?
I liked it. Very long game. Im at 10 hour mark. I didnt complete the 2nd or 3rd main mission yet
1440p Ultra best
Can someone help me w a pc build
My download has been stuck at 99% for ages then gives me an error code "error code 0x87e0000" what do I do
whats ur budget and region what type of games as well as resolution and framerate
I already got all parts i think just wondering if i can change anything
u should done any adjustments before u brought the parts
Check dms
i just hooked up my 4k monitor and oh my god what is life right now this is amazing
i need help gamepass apps are not installing on the xbox app or the microsoft store the error is you cant change default install location when that folder is in use

@radiant harbor, has been warned for spamming.
guys so how are we supposed to connect our xboxs to our laptop with hdmi cord the connnect virtually is so laggy
g od of war or uncharted legacy of thieves
Your laptop almost certainly doesn’t have an HDMI In port so the answer is “you don’t”
Can anybody recommend me a nice controller that's rechargeable and compatible with cloud gaming?
Xbox controller with rechargeable batteries or play and charge kit
do I just ened the batteries and a charger cord for the plug and play
I dont need a charging station right
Play and charge kit can recharge from the console or pc using the cable. The rechargeable AA batteries usually need to be done from the wall
I’m trying to connect my elite series 2 core controller to my pc with Bluetooth. It doesn’t connect much but when it does it keeps disconnecting. What can I do to stop this
i need help with minecraft java edition i have already bought it but it says i still need to in the launcher
Do you have anything else using Bluetooth connection? Try reducing traffic if it’s causing interference
Shatterline?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40iwgUjBmoA as far as I'm aware there is no spoilers, just hardware unboxed going through how the game performs. Very happy to see their game optimization guides return and already applied one tweak for their video. Lowering shadows from ultra to high regaining anywhere from 11-26% performance for a minimal loss in shadows quality. Just really wish there was more of these types of guides but I understand and respect the time spent to even create them in the first place

From what I've seen and heard a lot of people with relatively old GPUs are able to play the game completely fine without any settings tweaks, with some frame drops in denser places, all around though it remains playable and it's really impressive. Bethesda put a lot into optimizing the game.
They’ve done an amazing video using Tomb Raider (or was it GN? 🤔) showing in most cases going from Ultra to High results in minimal loss in most settings - to the point where even me being so picky can’t tell - but you get a huge boost in frames.
So I’m not surprised on this, Shadows & Lighting always number 1 settings to reduce a little for gains.
Can someone please help me. Im trying to install a upscaler mod. However I have the game installed on the xbox app. I have followed the mod steps and placed all the correct files in both the root game folder (in the mods folder) and also in the starfieldperfs folder. However when I boot the game the mod doesnt seem to be working. Can anyone help?
IO dont think the xbox/
microsoft version can be modded as of now only the steam one ..I could be wrong
i thought the same but there is a mods folder
i cant send screenshots but it is there
ah ok well IDK then odd
yeah thats the conclusion i came too xD microsoft just hate modders lmao
u need to wait for creation kit for starfield at least on xbox/ms store version
oh ok, how long until that comes out?
have no idea. i use steam version
i feel thats what I should of done. But i got the game half price, ill take it
maybe on tuesday?
im just guessing since it is at launch with regular version not sure if creation kit at launch
im guessing u want to install the dlss mod?
yea thats what ill do, i can deal with 50fps for a bit
yeah seen some hit 90 fps with it
doesnt fsr boost it to 60fps?
fsr is awful xD
they are releasing the new one which will be better
but its WAY worse than dlss
i have amd gpu so i really dont matter
what fps do u get?
high 50s to 70
what r ure specs?
whats odd is I was hitting 60 fps on medium settings on a 1080 ti
playing at 4k
i got a 3060ti, ryzen 7 5700X, 32GB RAM and i play 1440p i go from like mid 60's all the way down to 40 sometimes
i went for rx560 2tb and i5-4670k to my current pc
yeah only reason i went amd gpu cause i built my pc during black friday and dont have the budget for a nvidia 4k gpu. so i went amd
yea fe i had to sell a kidney to afford the 3060 and now it cant even run a game at 60fps lmao
well this game they said it would lock to 60 fps on pc but i am glad there is a way to beake it
amd gpus r more cheaper than their nvidia counterparts though u have to deal with no dlss and fsr as ur main upscaling
yea i feel like bathesda have kinda just forgotten abt the PC community making this game. No FOV slider, no gamma and no dlss is not rlly good enough
starfield really dont need more than 60fps tbh. its not competitive shooter that u need 144fps or anything
yea thats what convinced me to get a nvidia
yea u r right but still i want dlss

for me its the price point. as long as i get the best 4k card for the money i really dont care. i dont want to spend 1000+ for a 3080 when i could get 6800xt for 650. it made my pc built just under my budget of 1800
yea fair enough i managed to get the 3060ti for about 500 but looking back i shouldve waited and then spent that on a 40000 series
yeah 4060 to 4070ti would have future proof it
yep 😦
it seems to me that the game is more cpu bound
anyone know why my xbox one controller not working when i plug it on my pc ?(wire)
i keep getting a msg saying "unable to connet to the "game name" servers please check yur internet connection and try again (reason8) 4-11-2" anyone can help me out ?
we love membory leaks
and trying to replicate a issue is a struggle when you dont know whats causing it LOL
You can see what process that particular servicehost instance is hosting, then use windbg to dump the memory for it and take a look
And it's related to installing games via the Xbox app
I wonder if it's very specifically related to sea of thieves
Because when it starts failing on the Xbox app it says 0b/s
So the issue is very specifically related to the Xbox app with installing games
So like It installs smoothly then something has to be going wrong that's related to this app
Sure, what is that servicehost instance actually hosting?
Delivery optimization
And stopping the delivery optimization and not network service kills the membory leak
I'm trying to snag it with a windows feedback video it seems to me I have to run it the whole installation to try and grab the leak or it's not going to work
so when the xbox app has this happen it seems something happens regarding the delivery optimization that completely messes up and starts leaking almost like the apps panics
eating some tajine rn.. smells like KFC with milk ngl
Looks good
For some reason when I looked at it I imagined the smell of oxtails
Anyone play Shatterline?
It’s early access on steam and it’s kinda like Cod/Apex legends/Overwatch.
Nope. Focused on starfield
Good evening everyone
Anyone know if you have to use the XOXB wireless adapter for PC If you want to play pc with controller
You can connect it via bluetooth if your PC has bluetooth.
Or wired
My PC has it but had a prob
Ooh nice enjoy ur Tajine bro and dont forget the lben
( lben = special type of traditional aged milk in arab countries usually accompanied by Tajine or Couscous )

Trying to download starfield rn but my internet is not bearing with me 😂
true
what is the best way to get atleast 6-0fps on starfield??? i have 3070 ti and should be getting atleast 60
Depends what you have everything set to currently. You may need to lower the resolution or graphical settings and make sure to enable FSR
i installed fsr bridge to dlss instead of puredarks version and im getting 50-60fps
Don’t think the 3070/Ti does that well in this game from what I’ve seen. You would likely have to be at 1080p low or medium for 60fps and make adjustments for FSR.
Starfield running on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 at 1920x1080, 2560x1440 and 3840x2160, using various settings and FSR 2.

Starfield's FSR implementation is strange. Kind of hope it get fixed so people know how to apply it properly since there is no preset like in about every game
If i can play other games 1080 ultra then why not this
Seems better optimised for AMD GPUs atm. I would probably play locked 30 and 1440p high/ultra on a 3070
Because not every game is built the same.
Do those other games have object permanence across a thousand planets?
one of em being re4 and thats graphically intense
RE engine games are no that intensive usually
It’s usually memory limitations for RE engine games especially at 8GB
I play around with my settings shadows and lighting mostly with fsr on at 4k with 6800xt on starfield get between mid 60s to 90s depending on where im at.
Resident evil engine arent really that intensive compared to cyberpunk jedi survivor immortals of aveum
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't call RE4 graphically intensive at all.
I mean re4 remake looks impressive but it wasnt even taxing on 30 series or 6000 series gpus on average.
Yeah that game runs pretty good even on an RX570
The min specs are very low when compared to starfield and other new triple a titles like immortals of aveum
so we can't use the controller as an audio device when it's connected to a pc via bluetooth i take it
May we talk about mods for games? Like nexus mods?
I think rhinne or one of the moderators told me as long the mod is officially supported by the developers
PC gaming is a different landscape.
As long as mods are within acceptable use, it's fine.
CPUs Rank for Perf In Starfield
It really likes Intel chips lol
Ill be fine with i9-12900k it seems, not that i was expecting anything else really, but good to know!
Glad the 10900k is still holding 60 there.
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/111
follow the instructions. helped my 3060ti immensely
which is kind of funny considering it was an AMD feature title. I'd have thought the 7950X3D would have been up there with the 13900K with the 7800X3D not being too far behind. When optimized with the latest chipset drivers the 7950X3D is still the faster CPU (even if only by some 200 MHz or so) of the two and yeah, I've forgotten about the 7900X3D as it is kind of in a weird spot. Pretty sure I'm not the only one that has forgotten about that CPU though 😄
I did too lol

Pretty much on par with base 3080 then
lol yeah, definitely not that large. I'd worry if it was somehow larger than the 7900 XTX as that has an extra fan so will be a little larger at least based off that alone
Does anyone know a good fps boost mod for starfield that supports gamepass?
I use steam mangomaker
if lowering settings doesn't help any try using FSR 2 and setting dynamic resolution to 67%, 59%, 50% or 33% (the equivalents to FSR 2's quality, balanced, performance and ultra performance respectively) at least going by this table
my starfield is laggy as well i meet the min req i got nvidia 1070 and intel i7 16 gb of ram all that maybe wait cause its a new game?
Always check your drivers are updated
ahh ok ill check that ty
hey so xbox discontinued the companion app and I can't work out how to change my pfp in the xbox app, did they just remove that or is there a way?
I don’t remember seeing it in the pc app. But you can do it on the mobile app.
ironic
you just click your gamerpic and you can change but you cant do custom on the PC app
Yeah it seems like Xbox Consoles and Mobile are the only options for custom pictures right now. Hope they add it back to the new PC App.
how come there are still games in 2023 that seem to not play well with multithreading? Current gen consoles (PS5 and XSS/XSX at least) use SMT and these games by now should be optimized with such features in mind. Makes me wonder if SMT is even worth using since after 8c/8t performance on the CPU tops out with 8c/16t showing either no further gains or a regression in performance (like in the example I posted, from DSOGaming)
That’s one game?
Highly depends on optimisation but it’s known that games usually don’t benefit from a lot of cores / threads, I’ve not really seen anything change this recently
there are so many other games like this though where CPU core count scaling drops off after 8c/8t. Some even before that. I just thought with the introduction of the latest consoles more games might be aware of and use multithreading more than in the past. Here's Starfield for comparison. SMT doesn't bring with it a loss in performance with SMT (like the above example did with Immortals of Aveum) but it doesn't gain anything from it either, at least beyond 4c/8t. 4c/4t to 4c/8t is quite a boost and then things just fall off from there besides the increase in physical cores providing a further boost in performance
minimum framerate 9
I've got everything maxed out on ultra settings and I'm averaging around 90 to 100 fps with my 4090
Would the Logitech g pro super light X work on a Xbox?
I even got a reply about an hour ago from the team via support about the update and to see if the update fixes the crashing issues I've been having. About to test it out now. Cool to see FSR being updated to v2.2
Let know how it goes. Did pc get an update for jedi survivor? I heard the boost on consoles make it playable at 60fps.
so far so good from what I tested, even enabled ray tracing to see if that would crash and still ran good
and yeah, Star Wars Jedi Survivor got an update a few days ago and I tried it out but 4K maxed settings with no FSR still runs below 60 FPS though with RX 7000 series GPUs there is the added bonus of enabling anti-lag+ which seemed to make things feel much smoother so that was cool
I love not being able to launch calculator or almost none of the uwp apps in Windows. A truly great feature with no errors suggesting what it might be
a lot of people are downloading and playing the game
xbox gaming services doesnt work i cant play my games idk why it wont install

Is this worth buying? https://shorturl.at/inqD2
Are you absolutely sure that your laptop has socketed RAM and can use that speed?
yeah I'm sure
Mine is "Katana 15 B12VGK"
Depends, it's not a bad price. But the question is would you need it
MEMORY
Max 64GB
DDR5-4800
2 Slots
OK OK. Sorry to assume, but it would be a real pain in the butt to buy it and then find out.
Refer to my question
YES!!!

If you really think your workloads would need it, sure go ahead
i need it
That's only 16 TBF 😛
All that tells me is that you might need more than 16. You don't wanna consider 32 GB?
It's not a bad upgrade idea, that's for sure. But if you will really benefit is another thing
Honestly I'll be using this a lot because I am taking Information Technology in college and he said we'd be using some coding programs
I kinda think 32 is enough for anyone but content creators.
When I had 16gb ram I tended to max it sometimes, got 32, and barely ever go over 16
Sure go for it. It's a good brand, you shouldn't have quality problems or anything.
If you have the money go ahead honestly

Now upgrade for this /s
It's almost 4090 with the 430 💀
4030?
No
Eyyyy look at Mr SLI/crossfire over here
How do i acsess keyboard software on a xbox
you dont
First off I'd upgrade the fan on the cpu cooler to a rgb fan
most keyboards have keys on them that will let you change them or use a pc
Does anyone have a good knowledge in hardware of a laptop?
So the thing is i have 2 laptops
One is working fine and other one's battery is dead
So i took out the ram from the dead laptop and tried to install it on the other laptop
Both are DDR3 and DDRL3
Google said both are compatible in that laptop
So when inserting it the ram couldn't go in because a notch like thing on the top is not in order
So i inserted it upside down
Now the ram is a bit tight but its placed
Will my laptop get harm if i turned it on?
Im not turning it on untill anyone said so
Its my only last laptop🥲
What do i do
Google said doing this will affect with blue screen of death and some stuff
Someone help please
Noooo😭😭
My laptop is dead
Rip
rip
🙁
I try install or update anything on the xbox app or microsoft store and it just wont download
?
Hi!!
Hello
what questions you got? I'm sure we can answer them
I was gonna try help too but I see it's not worth it, he doesn't say the question 🥲
yeah, not a whole lot we can say if there is no question to discuss or answer. Plenty of people in this server with varying levels of knowledge around GPUs
Yeah. In this server gpu means two things game pass ultimate and the gpu in ur pc/laptop
Hey guys I will be on lunch in an hour or two and we can chat thanks for responding
At work right now. But yeah just have a few questions. I really appreciate it. Thanks again
Np
Continuing the "12 pin" connector discussion from general, but the recommended AWG for a PSU is 16-18AWG. The longest length of a PSU cable without extensions is 24" with the average being 20"
Assuming 18 AWG and 20" puts the current rating at about 15A
Apparently 9 x 18AWG is the same as 9 AWG, which put the current handling up to 135A / 1620W
With 6 +12V connectors in the 12 pin, it comes down to 90A / 1080W
Most cards recommend a 1000W supply with Palit cards creeping up to 1200W.
But that's then over spec. The molex connector is only designed for 11A per conductor, with 8.5A being more real world
Which gives the 12 pin molex connector a power rating of 51A. Even at 11A per conductor, the rating is still only 66A, way below the 90A target.
So yeah, they're absolutely going to melt at high temps and high loads.
How didn't Nvidia see this though?
Even the 3x8 pin isn't really enough and approaching the thermal limits of the connectors
yeah, I couldn't go into this much depth but I'm sure Nvidia should have seen something with this yet they put it down to user error early on (and might still). I think the latest solution around the 12vhpwr connector is a revision with PCIe 6.0 called 12v-2x6 but this is once again likely to require users to buy a new power supply to support it, if they want to avoid the use of adapters. Overall, as I mentioned earlier on general chat it is all rather messy
Does anyone know how to fix the NTFS issue
Is there any gpu that actually use pci 6.0 to maximum
only one GPU at this time is even capable of saturating PCIe 3.0 to the point it needs PCIe 4.0, that being the 4090. We haven't even reached a point where GPUs are saturating PCIe 4.0 to where they recommend 5.0 (there aren't even GPUs that support 5.0 yet, let alone 6.0)
That is what i thought
I'm not sure PCIe 6.0 spec is enough? It allows an extra 75W throught the PCIe slot (so up to 150W) but the connector is "only" 600W/50A. So only 750W max. The 4090 is already above that :\
scary
Did they just fire all the electronic engineers or something?! Lmao
really sounds like Nvidia went all out with the 4090 and forgot about some pretty important stuff. Was talk that AMD were going to also use the 12vhpwr connector with soem of their latest GPUs. I for one am glad they didn't and they probably avoided a whole bunch of similar issues
What is pci gen 6 used for rn?
Nothing? It's out next year
What ntfs issue?
I'm happy for someone else to check all the engineering maths btw, but I was operating on "worst case scenario" - "thin" wires, 'ideal' wiring conditions of about 50 degrees C. Wire lengths are above, 12VDC lines. Current draw of a circuit is constant for all points of that circuit and so on.
I had to reformat my whole drive basically so I have to redownload my big steam games later lol
That's not an issue. That's normal.
Ok but its annoying
NTFS allows files over 4GB, so your drive needs to be in that format for big game installs.
that's way out of my knowledge but it sounds like you might have stumbled across the issue with those who experienced the connectors melting, especially if they happen to exceed the capabilities of that connector and the wiring etc. That definitely isn't "user error" as Nvidia originally claimed lol. Very technical stuff even to my brain 😄
Different backgrounds innit lol. I have a very old Electronic Engineering qualification that's almost useless to me now, but means I can at least figure this stuff out (assuming the specifications and data is correct)
But think about it, the heating element in a toaster is just very thin wires with high current shoved down them: they get hot, hot enough to melt plastic and your fingers. Same principle as an electric kettle, a soldering iron, an iron or a trouser press tbh. Except here we don't want anything to get hot and well...it is.
The only way I can see a GPU safely breaching 1000W is multiple connectors. 1000W@12V is about 83A. Assuming we use that 8.5A limit of a molex connector, that's 10 pairs of them. The wire isn't really the issue, which is why the connectors are melting and not the wiring itself.
Tl:dr, shove a 20 pin connector on a 4090 Nvidia and do it properly 😂
24 pin if it's palit / 1200W / 100A
so something as ridiculous as the 4090 HOF that has not one but TWO of these 12vhpwr connectors is maybe one of the few doing it right?
that I have no idea about but it is one of these "go nuts with overclocking" cards
NVIDIA Ada Lovelace Streaming Multi
Google says 1000W. With the right PSU, I wouldn't expect it to melt like the others
Also stay away from 90degree adaptors on these cards. The thermal limit of a 90 degree connector is a lot less than the "normal" spec
yeah, I'm not touching a 4090 as far as I can see one right now from this discussion 😱 though back around the launch of the 7900 XTX I was close to considering a 4090
only one I would have bought though was the Founders Edition, if I was lucky enough to catch it being available on Nvidia's store page
I mean you could measure the heat with an infra red thermometer and the current with a clamp meter. On a 12 pin connector, the current shouldn't exceed 51A if my maths is right.
basically 8.5 x the number of +12V in the connector in amps would give you the "safe" working current. I've stopped looking at cabling because most PSUs that are this high rated are using 16AWG anyway from what I can tell
The molex connector will melt at about 125C (again, according to specs, it'll probably fail before that)
Expensive experiment though 😂
something I'd rather avoid entirely tbh. I'm the sort that would rather jsut build a PC, update stuff, download games and play. To have to possibly get that technical with your hardware and monitor it like some science experiment? nah, that's what all the testing Nvidia's side is for before it hits the public is it not? I'm glad I dodged what could have been a nasty hole in my wallet and a possible fire hazard
Eurgh delete everything I said -_- it's quite misleading. I mistook "recommended PSU" for "card current draw"
The card itself is only 450W so well within the specs and limits of the connectors. So I'm back to being as baffled as nvidia at them melting. It's more like 38A or 5 of the molex connectors. A 12 pin should absolutely not fail.
only time it might fail is when user set it to use 600W though? 4090 FE is meant to be 450W stock with a power limiter that allows up to 600W
Well 6 connectors at 8.5A is 51A. 51A x 12V is 612W. So very close to the limit, but still in limit. And I'm being cautious with 8.5A, some say 11A
then there is transient power spikes that are another possible factor that take it beyond said limits. Not sure how they are on the 4090 but my 7900 XTX MBA (made by AMD/reference model) only uses 2x 8 pin and TBP is 355W but according to HWInfo (software monitoring so there may be a case of "take the reading with a pinch of salt") it was actually reporting more than 580W. For how long I'm not sure but it could have been for all of 20ms, like in this image posted on my next message though replace their 455w with 580w or so
It's sustained load that's the issue. Heat takes a bit of time to accumulate, it's not instantly hot. There will be the "flash" limit still, but you're being pretty careless usually if you manage that and I'd expect the wires to melt tbh to get there
Begs the question though if a 4090 is 600W and melts, why doesn't a 636W 6900 XT
indeed, that's what I'd want to know. Though I think it also depends on unit as I'm getting higher spikes than TPU (techpowerup) reported with my 7900 XTX and iirc the 6900 XT was also a 2x8 pin GPU? 3x8 pin on AIB models
going to quickly run a FH5 benchmark or something to see if I can get my GPU to show the power spike in action. BRB
I'd still want to get a clamp meter and infra thermometer and stress test the thing myself. Someone is mis-representing somewhere IMO
FH5 run + HWInfo (take note of the TBP vs GPU maximum)
Is that "this is what the board used while your GPU is thrashed" or "this is the system limit" though?
total board power should be the when GPU is thrashed thing. GPU maximum seems to go even further which has led me to believe it can show the power spikes. Though it is probably better to get some additional equipment to detect that properly as you suggested but I'm not the sort to do that so this is all I kind of have to go off of
I think I would buy a cable for the PSU instead of using the adapter to play it safe with the new Nvidia cards.
Nah I can understand that. It's not like you'll be modifying your system though? Just a different way of measuring current. A clamp meter is like a spring loaded crab claw, opens, goes around the wire and gives a reading. So you're not splicing, modifying or doing anything rule 12 like
nope, no modification etc. My system is completely stock (some will call me boring lol)
I mean you'd measure like this
that doesn't look as bad to use compared to some of the devices that required soldering wires to certain components and a device to measure this stuff that I've seen from various videos on youtube. The thought of doing that put me off touching that stuff but that one pictured above actually looks easy to use
That's why I said clamp meter lol
yeah, sorry just not used to the different thingies and their names lol
Yeah I'm not messing about with probes with what might be 50A of current, that's how you end up being the Toaster if you get what I mean 💀
U lucky that u have an engineering background. I dont know what the instrument u show do lol
Measures current, voltage and probably resistance. I've had a few small electrical shocks tbf, would not recommend.

https://videocardz.com/newz/cyberpunk-2077-2-0-patch-to-increase-8-core-cpu-utilization-to-90-mods-for-ryzen-smt-no-longer-needed finally! though I thought the devs did give a fix to this before to the point the mod was no longer required? Looks like Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 is going to be huge! Can't wait to see how a CPU like the 7950X3D performs now if it and other 8 core AMD CPUs haven't been properly utilized since as far back as the game's launch
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 will be taxing on 8-core CPUs CD Projekt Red developers confirm the upcoming patch will heavily increase CPU utilization. The highly anticipated 2.0 patch for Cyberpunk 2077, along with the forthcoming Phantom Liberty expansion, is on the brink of release. As the developers add the finishing touches to the game, some have […]
Nice. Might have to start thinking about getting it if the 2.0 patch is that much better. Though I believe the game is mostly stable and fixed now?
yeah, latest update seems to be in a pretty good state (at least compared to how things were early on) though with how big 2.0 is coming across to be there will likely be some new interesting bugs and stuff introduced that'll need fixing (hopefully nothing game breaking)
might also be one of the first FSR 3 supported games. Pretty sure it was mentioned Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting support, even though Immortals of Aveum and Forspoken were to be the first there is no confirmed release date on them other than "early Fall" and this 2.0 update is either going to include FSR 3 or there will be more wait for that
I'll be mooching about on a series X, but I assume it'll be getting the patch too
yeah, afaik the update is free but of course the new content is not
I probably buy the dlc
The requirements were a lot higher in that chart we saw a while ago. Wonder if the base game will also be much more demanding after the update
Is anyone here really good with pcs
Just ask
I have a rx580 and I need to upgrade my motherboard and cpu which should I get
Amd preferred
Budget? And what are you trying to play on it / do with it?
What u have rn?
Idk
Play newer games
My budget is like 150-300
Max
I'm probably gonna need to get new fans also
I mean Super Bomberman R 2 is a newer game? Assuming starfield though, I think you're going to struggle with that budget
Motherboard is at least 100 plus cpu and ram min is 400 to 600 at least plus any new games u probably need a new gpu
Am i able to use the ram I have rn
@blazing hawk No self promotion or advertising is permitted here.
if you run Dxdiag it should tell you which CPU you have. You can use a tool like HW monitor to find the motherboard
I'll check when I'm home
Seeing as you are on a pretty low budget it might be better to upgrade on the same platform depending how old it is
RX580 is pretty old now as well. Most entry level cpus won't be bottlenecked by it
True. But any games going forward like ue5 games may have specs that need something more powerful than a 580 case in points immortals of aveum/starfield
Yeah for AAA like modern games releasing now 3060 would be about the bare minimum for something reasonable quality
580 or anything would have lag and constant dips in fps
My brother has a ddr4 rig with a 580 but he plays those rts games not really any high games

still way too much. Game(detroit became human) was boring and pretty bad other way also
I liked it. I love a good story driven game
Gotta agree on this one. It's really story rich
Great game with a lot of different outcomes
I bought it and did not play it, and I submitted a request to get my money back. It is supposed to be accepted, right?
But its over 14 days ago since u brought it. I would imagine that u wouldnt. It needs to have both brought less than 14 days and played less than 2 hours

Seems like I have enough on both computers, sorry about all the questions, but what graphics card would you recommend? My faster PC with less storage and RAM uses a 3050 while the slower one (older windows) has a 2070
hey @upbeat heart
Hello
However, Bethesda have stated that the Starfield recommended specs require an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU, an Intel Core i5-10600K CPU, and 16GB of RAM, though we recommend having more than 16GB of RAM available.
Ah I see
So it seems like the faster PC may be better
It only has 16 GB of RAM so it’s right at the minimum / recommendation but I think it’ll run well, what do you think?
they say the 2080 is good. prob for medium settings. i have a 13900kf and a 3090 and i'm getting 50-60fps on 4k resolution. resolution really matters here and i would recommend using that dynamic scaler settings. I would say your 2080 will be sufficient but go lookup the vid from Digital Foundry on the settings recommended for the 2080. I think they have one for that card based on the recommended spec
I’ve got a 2070
