So there is no way for a person on mac os to play windows games online
uh i dont think
yeah what you're saying above wont work jomie @brittle sandal
homie*
Only by using Bootcamp and installing Windows (if you're on an Intel Mac).
Not really. If you are on an M1 or M2 Mac you can try using parallels or crossover as a wine conversion tool but might just be better off buying a separate windows system
anyone like know how to play or install transformers wfc\foc?
Buy a disc
but what do i do if i want install the tho?
You buy a disc and install from the disc. Assuming you don't have a Series S.
the game i ment
The games have been delisted
but i got the Series S so what do i do
Nothing.
oh thanks
You would need a system with a disc drive
what you mean system?
oh ok
What
Nvm
Ok
so i redeemed a code in my xbox account for my pc but every time i go buy a gam it doesn't let me so i click the redeem a code section but it this code was redeemed by your account in a different region
im confused on what i have to do
and it doesnt let me redeem it
i have changed my xbox account to canadian and still tried
Ok why doesn't the xbox pc app load? I have tried everything including date and time, power shell, command prompts, Uninstalling and reinstalling it. Literally every thing doesn't work
did it load before
do u have windows 8 or higher
cuz it wouldnt work if u have windows 7 or something old
i just installed it yesterday so idk if it ever worked in the past and i have windows 11
didnt it come preinstalled
no
try running it as administrator
if theres some other way i can download games from xbox im all ears because the app is unresponsive
visit the website
it will add the game to your library
snd you can download from there
omg thank you finally
they really need to just decommission that app and just tell people to go to the store to download it like geezus
Hey Guys got a question hope someone has some insight. So I sit down to play say I'm at the 25min mark something cool happens so I hit record last 10min the recording I actually get is from like the 6-11min mark not the 15-25min mark that it should be. Anyone else ever have that happen?
Are you talking about the console recording feature? There are plenty of apps to record gameplay on PC
yeah ive been usiing obs in the meantime i just like not having to remembert to open and start its buffer
pc recording
I just use OBS most of the time if I need to record.
I use OBS too! It's good. Can stop and start recording/streaming by pressing a button. 🙂
What games y'all bought from the Steam Summer Sale?
Yeah its better Quality also i just liked Gamebar there working also because it never fails you always forget to have started it when the really cool stuff happens
I picked UP FFO:SOP and Octopath 2
so far
I have no idea what FFO:SOP is 😅
Final Fantasy Origins: Stranger of Paradise
when I'm not shooting things im a huge JRPG type person
or Mecha but AC:VI is still over a month away😭
Yo
Are sapphire reliable for amd gpus?
Because there's a good price for an rx 6800
$715 (canadian)
Sapphire are usually pretty good but really just depends on the specific model. Best to read reviews
Sapphire Nitro+ should be good as that is their flagship design but their pulse cards can be good too (and found a bit cheaper than their Nitro+ models)
I’m having extremely bad frame stutters and drops I can never get a stable frame rate I know the 2060 isn’t a bad card I also tried later drivers one from this January and one back from 2021 and it’s still a little weird just any advice would help me and the cpu is an i7 10700f
what games are you playing and resolution?
hmm you haven't used Geforce Experience and used it's auto optimize of games settings at all? I've heard it can mess with games (and from past experience wasn't all that great). Could also be to do with any overclocks you might have applied. Some games can be pretty sensitive to that stuff so run stock. Otherwise I'm not too sure as I don't play either of those games unfortunately, sorry 😦
Yeah I try that optimize stuff but it like went haywire so I set it back to medium in game
Does your framerate improve putting everything on low or is it staying the same?
It improves in the slightest but it’s just never stable and I mean like it stops for half a second sometimes then starts going like it stuttered and my ping is fine
My gpu temp is always around 75-76 when playing fortnite and apex
Have you checked Gpu and cpu usage to see how much the Gpu is being utilised? If fps is still bad on low settings could be more of an issue on the cpu side with cooling potentially
Yes the cpu sits at 54% usage and the gpu is around the same
That’s on fortnite
Idk about how hot it gets I don’t know how to check that
MSI afterburner has a tool to show cpu temp. It might be built into game bar as well
If it’s going above 85c on 10th gen that might be an issue.
On the monitor thing it said all cores were 49 or 51
Gaming on the Mac isn't a hardware problem. It's not a software problem either. It's a culture problem.

hey guys
I would like mac gaming to be more of a thing but guess time will tell
Even the base M1 macbook is quite capable of playing games when optimised and doesn't make any noise while still having decent battery. Shame it's just a small amount of games though relatively
Xbox game bar and all of those xbox services eat alot of your resources in the background i heard
You're using drivers from 2021?💀
the 2060 bottlenecks the i7 10700 a bit
The perfect cpu for it is r5 3600X
They should still have no issues with Fortnite and Apex on the 2060
I doubt it is enough to slow a system down. Would have to be a pretty low spec system if that
hello!
i subbed for game pass and when i download fifa 23 the contoller doesnt work help
Digital Foundry also made a video on this. Interesting
Anyone got me a game pass?
No I had tried older ones but ended up ddu and reinstalling recent ones
So what would be the perfect gpu for the i7 10700
One says a 3070 and another a 2080ti
I also found out when I run fortnite on tsr epic it performs better and is much more stable but on fxa,taa and dls it’s what’s making me stutter a lot more
30 series would be better all around
3070's slightly more powerful than a 2080Ti
and has more efficient RT capabilities
I like the look of the 4070 because it has good performance, and runs very cool. A bit pricey at the moment though
Maybe next year though...
They'll come down in time
but that's a gamble
I just meant the actual performance
they're not enough of an increase over 30 series
I remember when the 3090 first came out, people were paying 2000 dollars for it
and instead rely on frame-gen as their key selling point
compare a 4090 to a 3090
the difference is there, but it's not enough
Even without the frame generation the 4070 has a good non DLSS performance, compared to a 3070.
The 4060 to 3060 is weak though
realistically if you're considering a 40 series, you're better off waiting for a 50 series
by the time the 40 series comes down the 50 series will be approaching or will already be out
Hello, I had some videos I clipped through the Xbox thing in my windows 10 laptop, how can I access them, I don’t have the laptop anymore
I will wait for a 50 series because it will make the 40 series prices more reasonable. But for now i have my eye on a 4070 in the future. Maybe sooner rather than later if i see one on sale
gamebar clips on windows are stored locally on the device
you will need to get them from that device
So they’re gone?
Tragic
ultimately one of the two ways it plays out. either 50 series isn't a good get over a 40 series and 40 series prices drop. or it is and it makes the 40 series a relatively pointless buy
I don't really see any middle grounds
since they can't exactly use DLSS3 as a stop-gap the same way
nor AV1 encoding
the 50 series is for sure going to push further into RT performance since rasterization is good all around
but if it was just rasterization that was cared about, the AMD cards are right there.
It all depends how Nvidia play their cards really. But the 4070 is a solid enough performer that fits my needs, and i like that its power consumption is low enough that it can run on a dual fan so i wont need to upgrade case.
Nor my PSU potentially
4070 gets good scores running without DLSS while the 4060 needs DLSS to be competitive.
I'm running a master-slave GPU setup. an older GPU with busted ports I use solely for coprocessing while doing other stuff on my primary. not the best, but I'll upgrade when I'm able to and the hardware looks just right for me
30 series was a good step, but still lacking
it's similar to per-pixel shaders when they got introduced back in the early 2000s
20 series introduced RT and it was horrible for actually performing it well
then 30 series was effecitvely the improvement
40 series is an incremental
then we'll eventually get a larger boost in performance on said specific technology
Yeah RT a bit demanding for the 20xx series but it otherwise did have better non RT performance and what was for a short while, reasonable price.
happened for PPS, happened for Physics
But then the GPU price spike happened
the 20 series launched into that spike
at least on their upper end.
$1000 for a 2080Ti
Yeah i remember seeing some selling at nice prices for a short while and I almost bought one but to my horror the price rise happened 🙂
But i managed to snag a 1660ti fairly cheap and been using that since. So i am lagging behind in technology, but 1080p gaming can look surprisingly good a lot of the time.
1660Ti's still slightly slower than 1070
Though i am finding myself having to increasingly select lower settings with newer games compared to when i first got it.
like, Pascal was just an insane architecture
and NVIDIA's biggest "mistake"
easily their best GPU line, that still kick butt even today
but to that end, they reduced the urge for people to want to upgrade as much
Yeah i would have bought a 1070 instead had they been available where i am. Getting GPU's in South America has never been ideal even at the best of times.
everyone holding out for another pascal-like generation
Currently the plan is my sister will bring me one when she visit in about a year and i forward her the money.
smartest ways to do it yeah
Thx for the info
Because Xbox Game Studios also publishes on PC and they offer PC Game Pass.
How can I map the share button on series controller to take screenshot on PC?
I think if you use the xbox extended controller support on steam you can bind the share button
Is there a way I can use that button to take screenshot outseide of steam?
Not sure, you would need to find a third party tool which would do a similar thing. Would be easier to just add the games you want to steam if you really want the feature.
Does win10 has a build in screenshot function?
Maybe I can bind that to my controller
it does
Print screen key & snip tool
I not sure if you can bind them too a controller though you could check in the xbox accessories app. Or some games will have a built in option that you maybe be able too bind to a certain key. Especially on PC
dxvk isn't meant for using on Windows but it has solved a VRAM usage problem for me with GMod lol
You can use win + shift + s for screenshots
**looks like you need to renew gold **when i tried to load up ark it now says this message. i never had gold before when playing
Sounds glitched. You don’t need gold for pc gaming.
that what i thought i going to try reinstall
after uninstalling it i now need to buy the game or play with game pass?
ive owned it for like 4 years now
haha
guys i need a g#me passcode pls dm me

Question: Have a Logitech Pro Keyboard and was wondering what are the downsides or upsides to getting one of those custom keyboards like a Ducky ? Are they just as good?
biggest downside to a custom keyboard is the build up of cost. If you are talking about building one from scratch, it will likely cost far more than anything that is widely available but may also require additional equipment to properly build. Upside to it is you will have something truly unique and likely of higher quality than a lot of options out there
How much do you have to spend to get a PC on the same power level as a Series X/PS5?
probably close to 3x the price of the consoles
It's just completely unaffordable
Sure, it has its pros but that entry cost is just not possible for me and a lot of us
It averages to the same in the end. It’s paying the lump sum now vs console and paying subscriptions overtime.
It depends also on the parts in ur country could be cheaper than 3 times could be more expensive
I'm going by an all AMD system with at least a 5700X (obviously a faster and more recent CPU than what is on a Series X), 32GB DDR4 RAM (more RAM than the consoles likely have, 16GB is minimum these days for the latest titles), 6700 XT (slightly faster than a Series X GPU and has a ffew more features consoles may not use) and 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD. I can throw together a mock build on PC Part Picker for some idea
Going Intel/Nvidia would likely cost more again
True. Why is amd cpu cheaper than intel?
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Rg7QjZ actually not 3x as much, though a little over 2x. Gets closer to 3x considering AMD's latest CPUs (7700X and 7800X3D, the latter being one of the best CPUs for gaming right now)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, NZXT H7 Flow ATX Mid Tower
I guess AMD are just trying to be competitive against Intel but the prices are closer between the two companies with their latest hardware
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/XRmwMb another example. Prices will vary from country to country of course but yeah, this one is knocking on the door of being 3x more expensive (at least in the UK)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6700 XT, NZXT H7 Flow ATX Mid Tower
Thing is on PC you will need to upgrade your hardware overtime regardless if you want to stay at console level or better. It’s not really great to compare them in general really.
Still averaging about the same. Upgrading parts vs upgrading a console.
It really depends, I mean you can get gamepass ult just stacking 3 years with gold and that’s only just over £100. After 3 years time you might need to upgrade your GPU or CPU to keep up and then there are all the poor PC ports on top of that regardless of the hardware you have.
If you look at the spec sheet for a PS4 for example a PC would need to be much faster to even compare at the same performance level
Ok. But people normally don’t calculate deals into averaging a price. There’s so many factors that can change cost.
help. i have an issue playing pvz gw2 for pc. it says this error:
detected inter driver version 31.0.101.2111 07/19/2022.
The recommended driver version is xx.xx.15.4251 or later. please upgrade your drivers before playing the game. and in the tutorial i cant control the sunflower, as i saw my mouse and keyboard dont works, even if i have a laptop. pls help (i dont have nvidia)
Here’s part 2. Try #1091756150644555946
My steam deck is going to arrive next week
nice
Cool, I just got my kid one and he really likes it
Does anyone here use an ARC GPU in their system?
Not true, hardware will stay the same over time, drivers help PC hardware just as much as any modern console
That's a fantasy idea many console gamers have, and I'm not really sure why they have that idea
Devs will target newer hardware on PC for AAA games to push newer features, that has always been the case. Driver updates are not the same as tailoring the entire game to run on a specific platform.
drivers increase optimization on a general level.
they are not a magic "runs great on a 6 year old GPU" button
For some reason I can’t open Forza horizon 5 using the pc game pass
I’m on windows 11 on a new computer, the loading window pops up but then nothing else happens, I checked task manager and I can’t find anything forza related
Could someone help me?
Have you tried the classic pc restart?
Probably best to post in #1091756150644555946 to get help with troubleshooting
It was a driver issue and it works now :)
not with at least the gpu since that needs to be updated every 5-7 years to play more modern games

how come when i install a game i can no longer see cloud gaming as a service
Cause once u install the game. Could play it off the pc and quality will be better than cloud.
that is true, but if im on a device like a laptop or portable gaming device like ally rog
sometimes i wanna switch to more of a power efficent option

Hi
Hi
Hi
I need an opinion, are the coming Intel CPUs going to be that much different from the current Alder Lake or Raptor Lake line?
not much besides speculation is really known about Intel's upcoming CPUs other than it may be a Raptor Lake refresh. I'd just wait for confirmed specs etc as it could turn out very different. Still likely to be the same heterogenous architecture Intel have been using since 12th gen (Alder Lake) so that is one thing that is unlikely to change, only further improve as this would be the 3rd iteration of such technology

I want to bind my share button to taking screenshot, but joytokey doesn't recognise the button
where can you buy series 2 replacement thumb sticks
dunno try amazon
Damn
Microsoft sell them
I got my replacement parts from Amazon

My computer is stuck on the bios screen
I'm trying to play a game I have in my xbox library (Guilty Gear strive) but when I try to use my 3rd party controller (RAC-j503b) it won't read any inputs from it. I'm able to use the controller on games that aren't downloaded through the xbox app & when I use my regular xbox controller it will take inputs fine. Any help on getting my controller to work would be greatly appreciated.
Apparently the regular xbox controller isn't working either, it works fine with games not downloaded the the xbox app but in game no buttons work except the B button & when I press it it counts as pressing up.
When I try to change the controls of it in the in game controller settings it works just fine but once I exit the button bindings it goes back to not working.
r u using a wired or wireless controller
Wired on both controllers
Im using a wireless controller but keep it wired works fine for me. did u update the firmware?
Where can I do that/check if it's updated?
try xbox accessories app
Im going to probs make the steam deck my main pc soon
I downloaded fifa to my PC
Waited all night for the game to download
Just for my PC not able to run it
fifa 23?
I wonder if the steam deck would be able to run starfield once it releases
I'm not sure it would run it all that well tbh but we'll know in less than 2 months!
Starfield on a handheld would be insane
Hi anyone can help me
might be best to try in #1091756150644555946
Does anyone have any other ideas on this? My main goal is to make it so that I can use my 3rd party controller with a game I downloaded through the xbox app.
Starfield VR would be amazing too
I could see it working well for PSVR2...oh wait

I really hope sony end up just letting it interface with PC
or Valve claps back hard
Try and get the 12GB version if you do
would anyone be able to explain like im 5 why on my 144 hz monitor if im getting say 150-200 fps the games i play actually are less fluid and more choppy than if i limit fps to 142 fps?
Inconsistent frames can lead to judder and stuttering. If the average is closer to 142 then the stutter would be less frequent
i guess a better example would be this. in fall guys my computer will push 300 fps. if i limit to 150 fps to keep it cooler and quieter there is still way more judder and choppiness than below my monitor's refresh rate even though it stays at a rock solid 150 fps
Does limiting it to 144 fps help at all?
it does yes, but it is best at 142 fps. even at 144 i still get some slight tearing
conventional pc wisdom would say let your gpu roam free with unlocked fps. but above 144 hz it just isnt as good for me in my experience
Unlocked usually isn’t great if you get a lot of large frame differences it will lead to stuttering. Limiting it is usually the best way to go
Is your monitor free sync or sync compatible? Maybe check the frequencies to see when it kicks in to help with screen tearing
freesync at 144 hz and below which is my monitor's refresh rate
i use an AMD 6700xt for what it's worth
That should help with screen tearing at least
ive just been limiting my fps to refresh rate but that leaves performance on the table. oh well
Then cap at 142fps
Yeah. That's what I'm doing. Just feels like leaving some GPU headroom on the table but no biggie
Not if the display can’t go above 144
As others have said, you want to keep the GPU at a constant FPS, not just let it max out…
yo I need help, my xbox series controller is not updating on xbox accessories
when I click update it stays on 0% until the controller turns off the the app gives me the "there was a problem updating your controller", I tried different cables, different ports, I tried removing the batteries

where u get this?
should just set the 7800X3D for all 3 tiers, especially at 1080p and 1440p. At 4K the difference kind of becomes minimal though there are some games that can still benefit and for the motherboards I'd suggest no less than a B650E motherboard. They should have plenty of features most gamers need. X670E adds significant costs for not a whole lot more in some cases
i have only b550 mobo. probably fall between 4k and 1440p with no upscaling. my 6800xt there but my 5600 cpu isnt there so with fsr 2.2 or whatever they have i can upscale to 4k.
of course it won't be. AMD will of course be marketing their newest hardware though with a 6800 XT I'd still think 1440p is comfortable. I'd be shocked if it wasn't (not just basing that off the 6800 series recommendation either)
so this list doesnt really count. but it gives us around what pc specs 1080p, 1440p and 4k specs r
game pass varsa ekle oynayalım

anyone want to group up for 100 points play with friends?
If you're looking for someone to play with, please go to #1094715375884697600
yo, could someone tell me if this mobo is any good? its a "x570s MSI Tomahawk WIFI", its 319-329$ and i was gonna pair it with 3070 ti, ryzen 5700x and 16gb ram
This isn't exactly PC gaming related but my mouse's sensitivity on my gaming laptop is incredibly fast every time I sign on, even after I've changed it and shut down. Any ideas to make it permanently on the setting I chose?
It will work though ddr4 is near the end of its life cycle. My brother uses the b550 tomahawk
i will get 32gb ram in the future, my friends giving me ram to use in the meantime
3200mhz or 3600mhz
Nice. I have 32 gigs ddr4 at 3600mhz cause i have amd cpu and gpu
i have all pc parts except mobo and cpu
I got 5600 non x and 6800xt
They both good for 1440p and maybe 4k gaming but need upscaling on newer titles
yeah im gonna stick to 1080-1440
Nice. Starfield looks to be a great game on pc hopefully 60fps or more
Yeah made by bethseda
I'd recommend getting a 5800X3D. Pricing should be pretty low these days for that CPU and it is the best AM4 CPU for gamers
Can i install XBOX CLOUD Gaming on my Nintendo Switch??
No
Anyone have a fix for slow download speeds? On steam I get about 900mbps download speed but on Xbox I’m capping at 2mbps and intermittently it will spike to a 100mbps but drop down again.
Restart pc and router.
Didn’t work
I tried a bunch of solutions from YouTube like flushing dns, port forwarding, netsh winsock reset, and resetting the Microsoft store and Xbox app.
Have you tried connecting to a hotspot to see if it has the same issue as your home network?
At least then you will know if it’s something related to your network or the PC
My internet is wired and I have a 1.2gig plan
It works perfectly on everything besides the Xbox app
1.2gig? are you sure that isnt the download cap and not the speed?
No that’s the speed I have the top package for internet
Xbox app is just awfully slow
iirc Xbox app downloads in MB/s so it's not to be confused with mbps. When you are seeing 100 MB/s that would be around 800 mbps though I am surprised you aren't getting the full 1.2 gbps when wired, which would be around 150 MB/s
they must have at least 2.5G ethernet then... or absurd Wifi
on my old motherboard I could reach the max speed of my gigabit connection (1130 Mbps) over wifi so it is possible but requires at least wifi 6 to do it. Both the router and device connecting to the router have to support wifi 6
pretty sure my old motherboard was even ready for 2 Gbps speeds if my ISP had such a package. New motherboard's wifi isn't as impressive (seems to top out at around 900 Mbps) but it does support wifi 6e. Though I think what it letting it down is the 80 MHz channel. I was able to use 160 MHz channel on the old motherboard's wifi
my phone is gigabit over Wifi capable. I see a 1200 megabit lan connection with it on Wifi 6
which to me is insane lol
Max I got out of my phone is like 850Mb
Xbox App imo is hit and miss, sometimes it’s like 1MB/s and sometimes it’s like 120MB/s
I wish I could get even 20% of those speeds here. Hope they get fibre sorted in my area soon
Imma get a new gaming PC in 2 days
what r ur new pc specs
Processor: Intel Core i5 up to 3.8GHz 4-Core
Graphics: GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6G GDDR6
Memory: 32G DDR4
Hard Drive: 128G SSD + 3TB
i5 what type exactly. and im guessing 3tb is hdd
it seems to be good for 1080p gaming
Yeah 1080p medium ish probably in the new games. FSR2 might help out a bit. HDD might struggle in new games but if playing stuff older than 2021 in general it is ok on a HDD
4 core i5 is probably pretty old, they haven't done those in ages now
It is hardly a spec for new pc nowadays, only the memory is normal imo
You should get a console instead of this
Really depends what they want to play
Plus what available in their country
If only console is not available in their country
For price around this spec and talking about gaming, maybe console is better
Is this good for $250?
CPU: I7 3.4-3.9ghz
GPU: Radeon RX580 8 GB GDDR5 (for now)
16 GB ram
512 SSD
Whatevet u like/needs 4 the controller and ur budget 4 controller
Elite Series 2
yall would this pc be scrap?
Specs:
AMD Radeon processsor with intergrated graphics (Idk what the exact processor is, as the motherboard died.) but its a pc from 11-12 years ago (2010-2011)
The motherboard manufacture is ASUS
it had 16 GB of ram
200 GB SSD
1 TB HDD
750 GB HDD
No dedicated graphics card
all the parts I would consider useful, minus the 750 GB HDD.

may not be anywhere near as big a release as the upcoming Starfield but I'm looking forward to playing Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart in around 12 days! Never thought Ratchet and Clank would ever appear on PC and lets see how the game performs considering all the claims Sony had on it at one point about it requiring the PS5's SSD to run
Core i7 but ram isnt specified.
Which generation i7?
I would be careful getting anything older than 8th gen
Sounds like it’s not making use of direct storage seeing as windows 10 is the recommended OS, and HDD while not recommended will still work based on that table
I’m guessing PS5 or similar settings will be at the first tier for the Ray tracing. And hopefully the PC version can push a bit above that with the ultimate tier
I might just be able to get away with the minimum settings, but will have to run to confirm, maybe I drop to 480p
SONY’s SSD seems to be quite quick, my M.2 would be around half the speed.
But 5.0 ones would be 2x speed of SONY’s.
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/ratchet-clank-rift-apart-will-support-directstorage-with-gpu-decompression-and-ray-tracing-ambient-occlusion-on-pc/ this article would seem to suggest otherwise
Fair enough, guess will see how it all turns out
I'm interested to see some benchmarks using different SSDs when it's actually out
Yep, it's going to be very interesting to see just how well it runs with slower storage than a PS5, seeing as Sony claimed it was only possible due to their fast storage.
I'll install it on my ROG Ally 😄
Real World testing will be interesting for sure, I’m sure it’ll be slightly slower on non 7GB/s drives, but the question will be just how much.
Run it from a micro SD
I always thought since DirectStorage is an API devs could just add and update it, almost in the same manner as a game update itself so something like DirectStorage could be added into existing released games at a later date and updated as new versions of the API become available. Really disappointed so far at the seriously lack of DirectStorage supported games tbh and it was a feature Windows 11 made a lot of noise about. At this rate it might be Windows 12 before we see it become more common and by that point W10 will likely be EOL and W11 not far behind
Im going to see if its going to run on the deck
That's why I'm surprised W10 is recommended and not 11 in that table. I'm not sure if it is something that can be patched in but if it is I wouldn't be surprised if Spider-Man gets an update for it
afaik W10 still supports DirectStorage to a certain extent (to which idk exactly) but the latest update for W11 is already giving some reason now to upgrade to W11, especially if you own a high polling rate mouse (greater than 1000ms) as there have been improvements made for games that will not be taken over onto W10. It's now limited to security updates pretty much so as far as I'm concerned W10 is as good as EOL already if it is lacking any feature updates between now and 2025 (when it is supposed to go EOL)
I’m interested in the new Razer Mouse that has 8000ms polling rate from what I saw.
yeah, it's even got me tempted but I still find I default to a controller when playing on PC. I just can't seem to adjust to keyboard and mouse 😦
Same
Yeah that's what I mean, it will work still but you would think 11 would be recommended to take full advantage of it.
I find a controller more comfortable when I have the option
There are a lot of unknowns with direct storage so this will be a way to properly test it to some extent
I wonder if starfield will run on deck tho because starfield on handheld would be lit
without the use of FSR I'd have major doubts tbh but it would be pretty cool, yeah
If i have to use fsr so be it
GPU in steam deck does not come close to the minimum requirements so I wouldn't expect it to run properly
Definitely buying that game
Is there a way to turn off a wired Series S/X controller on PC, other than disconnecting and reconnecting the USB?
Hold the on/off button (xbox logo) for like 5-10 sec I think
Wired controllers may not have a battery pack
Are you enrolled for the Insider Builds?
how do i check
Doesn't specify but the price of the PC in question just went up anyway
Well that would make a large difference whether it’s worth it or not tbh. If it’s a 1st gen i7 will struggle in a lot of modern games
3.4 ghz to 3.9 what would that be
Imo it's probably a i7-3770 @exotic jacinth
I don't see any i7 with those clocks
You're buying this pre-built?
Yeh
I do plan on doing many upgrades when I get the money for it
Does it even support 30 series cards?
My guy I haven't a clue
I Honestly wouldn’t take to many bets on upgrades in prebuilts
I have another option tho, hold on
Is the ram ddr4 or ddr3
Prolly ddr3
Well if it's an i7 3770
@faint crag if I was you I wouldn't take that pc
If its ddr3 then definitely wont support 30 series and need to replace the whole motherboard for any upgrades
Knowing prebuilds the motherboard might not even be removable from the case
True. It was probably good like years ago
https://a.co/d/hQpMPe9 this other prebuilt actually specifies things and is already pretty good for the price.
Can't you make one?
What's the point
What?my message got removed
Pre-built part are trash usually, and I don't find this pre-built worth it,a build would get you more longevity, perfs for the price etc,and you can upgrade it easily
could also go the custom built route as that and building it yourself give you full reign over the components you add. Prebuilds often lack in quality
I really just need something quick and good g, I plan on making games better than cod before I'm out of highschool
Who knows what that power supply is
This is just a perfect example, if you get those things for that price, they are cheaping out on everything and possible that you get csgo announcer saying ”bomb has been planted” when you plug it in
Better to save up and get a better pc then
@faint crag building a PC is like 2 hours using a tutorial max for everything ?it'll save you from the headache that you'll get in the future with this pre-built
lol yeah, going to need a very powerful PC and a huge budget if you plan to make games better than call of duty 🙄
You can get better for like 500 bucks?
Also depends on what type of games u planning on playing if u planning on starfield definitely a big budget
Much much more money
I need something to be able to handle ue5 game development
that'll be a very high spec system that likely costs over $2000 and fairly recent hardware I'd think too
U could get a console if u cant afford a pc to handle ue5
Budget and your requirements don’t add together
He meant developpement
Playing would be like 550 dollars for something good for everything
But ue5 developpement, you'll need something decent to get all the options
at least double that with the way things are with most games released this year. Games are demanding more than 16GB RAM at certain resolutions and more than 8GB VRAM too and you'll probably find you could spend $550 on a 32GB DDR4/DDR5 RAM kit and GPU with 12GB+ VRAM. Still got the rest of the system to factor in
If you want Ue5 development a good 8/6 core 12/16t cpu and a 6600xt/6700xt could probably do it
But lumen,ray raytracing efficienctly 🤷♂️
And all the fancy options
And you won't get the best experience possible
And yeah 64gb ram,maybe 32 could do it 🤷♂️
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/TgRhW4 here's my PC specs. Only a couple of mistakes I feel I've made but been very happy overall with how the system performs since I built it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, NZXT H7 Flow ATX Mid Tower
Damn great pc
obviously you don't have to go as high end as I did. This is a set and forget sort of system. I can crank pretty much any game up to 4K ultra and not worry about how it performs. I should have waited for the 7800X3D but oh well and while I don't recommend cheaping out on a power supply I may have gone a bit overkill with my choice and spent a bit too much on it being titanium rated but other than those things it is very powerful
On top of that you'll need some softwares, and a log,A LOT, of storage
Your build probably is 1 million time better than my pc
Tbh i regret going for the rtx 4090 since starfield will probs be more optimised on AMD
doesn't mean it will run great even on current AMD hardware. 4090 still has the upper hand on AMD's best, 7900 XTX by at least 20%. Would take some intentional messing around for the 7900 XTX to close that gap which for a well optimized game would be on display
4090 will still beat any AMD card regardless
AMD's feature titles seem to favour all hardware. Not sure I've read a case where AMD intentionally nerfed performance on rival hardware. It's usually been the other way around historically with both Intel and Nvidia messing with AMD hardware performance on their feature titles so if anything I'm glad Starfield isn't an Nvidia feature title
It's 1 title anyways, and you card will be enough for 4k/1440p High settings
I wouldn't say they intentionally nerfed but I'd bring up cod mw2 and wz2 as the 7900xtx matching the 4090 due to major optimizations
idk what is going on with that game tbh, isn't it an Nvidia feature title? yet it has that kind of optimization that seems to favour AMD's GPUs. Only thing I can think of is AMD's Infinity Cache is at play but surely that wouldn't make that big a difference. Is an interesting one for sure. Still hoping true today that the 7900 XTX can match the 4090 in those games? Been many updates that could have changed things since
There isn't going to be dlss so i am kinda worried
Should run just fine, DirectStorage was already OP in Forspoken, but that game didn't even use GPU decompression, despite 1.1 supporting it
It used 1.0 in early access, but was updated to 1.1 for the official release
I'm just excited for GPU decompression to finally have a game that uses it
Yeah, it's a bit disappointing, but games really need to be designed for it with the latest versions of DX12
I downloaded ark off gamepass and was wondering how to access files so i could mod it please help
MS store games are usually encrypted.
Not in every game.
So you can’t really say “regardless”
On MW2, the XTX destroys the RTX, it’s pretty much one of the only examples, however in that game, the AMD runs supreme.
I found that out when last gen when I swapped my 3090 for a 6900 XT because all I was playing was Gears 5, and saw a 20% performance uplift even though the AMD card was 1-2% faster overall.
It can be just the way the games designed. Especially as the consoles use AMD.
Yeah they're was some major love under the hood for amd in cod this time around. Would definitely say console had a hand in that as they're both amd and the larger market for the series
I was watching a benchmark in MW2 the results seem pretty similar for that one. I’ve not seen a game where 7900XTX actually pulls ahead though as the 4090 is generally a faster card even if a game favours certain architecture.
Average of 311 fps v 243 fps in 1440p - big gap for the AMD.
So it pulls ahead massively on that, a little bit on others & also keeps neck & neck in some cases even though the 4090 is overall a more powerful card.
Definitely depends on the game & situation as the RTX also has big gaps of course of its own against the AMD.
In general it is a bit better than the 4080 in raster performance but in some cases like that favours RDNA will pull further ahead of it. The extra Vram will help out in the long run as well possibly
Waiting for the first 100GB VRAM gaming card 😄
going to be some time before that lol
also, on the 4090 vs 7900 XTX they are very much 4K beasts. Something tells me in a general suite of games that gap is smaller and the 4090 begins to really flex its power. Obviously some games may end up like above (I do see a couple of 4K benchmarks in there) but really, in most instances the 4090 should pull away from the 7900 XTX. Would be curious to see a comparison between launch state of these GPUs and current state with latest drivers with resizeable bar/smart access memory enabled (pretty sure most benchmarkers have this enabled by default these days)
4090 Ti is on the way too, that’ll be about 10-20% faster still, and then depends what AMD do with a 7950 XXTTXX
I'll believe it when I see it with those. AMD are still to announce and release an RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT
End of 2023 is most likely
I really don't think the 4090 Ti will be another 10-20% faster, 10% tops maybe with one very eye watering price
Did they not test the 4070TI or is it just awful that it didn't appear in the results?
Only got the rumours & potential core count to go off, and everything is saying 10-20% so will see when it lands Christmas 23

Too late I already bought it 😄
from what I've seen recently the 7900 XTX price may have been reduced enough to the point it threatens the 4070 Ti's very existence (with it being around 31% faster than a 4070 Ti with double the VRAM)
Yeah I made a poor choice, but still better than my laptop 1070 and maybe in a year or so I will upgrade and give the 4070 to my brother
ok, doesn't appear to be the case in the UK. 4070 Ti start at £770 but do creep up towards 7900 XTX pricing. 7900 XTX start from £975 (barely moved really)
Yes
GTA 5
I have a xbox but it's very old I got it the day it came out and I have like 48k hours on gta
Ooh I see, very nice 👍
I've got a amd ryzen 5 5500 and a gtx 1650
Don't wanna ball out I just wanna play typical games
It's quite clean to with white rgb
I don't know much about pcs but my freind told me it will do just fine for me
I used to play games like valorant on 35 fps and other games didn't even run but I hope this will do better
And It just crashes whenever I play
Yeah it should, a lot better than laptop
I hope this pc won't 🙃
I looked it up on YouTube it said from 210fps to 260fps
Like the same specs I have
Ooh okay
On gta 5 I'll have like 90-110fps
just be sure to update stuff like chipset and GPU drivers 🙂
Are refurbished graphics cards from Newegg any good?
Next gen I'm probs switching to AMD gpu and CPU
Hello
I'm getting 500fps in valorant
Alright I'll take a look in YouTube how to do it or I'll ask a freind
3D V-Cache chips definitely for gaming
If Intel hasn’t released anything then will go AMD
7800/7900X3D King of Gaming 👑
can anybody help me with a controller issue?
What is the best proccsesser for a budget build. Ryzen 5600x??
12400f is still really good value
I’m going for ryzen tho
If you're near a microcenter try finding a 5600x3d if they still have any
@next cradle this is the answer imo
Im planning to move away from nvidia
since you have a 4090 you should be good on upgrading for a few years at least (or even a few generations)
Searching for a pc has utterly humbled me to a point that I just want something that can run blender and CSGO well.
I’m in Australia
Oof
This cpu looks good wish it was on Amazon
One time release and only in microcenter. It was just amd getting rid of faulty 5800x3ds
only listings you might get on Amazon will be highly scalped 5600X3D that wouldn't be worth it at all
Scalped or outright fakes at that as I'd imagine their aren't that many too begin with.
idk, could be more than AMD let on. I like the idea that they are putting the faulty 5800X3D chips to use and not wasting them. Though I feel this could have been done much sooner
Definitely, helps them and the environment
AM4 platform (Zen, Zen+, Zen 2 and Zen 3) is effectively at a dead end. AMD's likely focus is to be on AM5. 5600X3D was possibly a last hurrah for that platform. I still hope AMD go on to support AM5 as well, if not better than they did with AM4. Plenty of stuff to learn from over the years with AM4
Does anyone have any suggestions for an affordable computer?
At least for games the average person would play and nothing heavy like KSP 2
A computer that is good enough is fine for me
What is your budget and in what currency
USD, haven't set a true budget yet but I am aiming for something below 2k prefferably near 1500
change below 1k
Or near at least, being more realistic
Ok let me go on pc part picker and see if i can make a list of components around that price point for you
thanks
neat
Although stuff like case and cpu cooler can be changed if you want depending on how you want your pc build to look like
How can I swap between analog stick and d pad on a series controller?
Some older games auto bind movement to analog, but I prefer d pad
If the game doesn't support it there's not really much you can do.
Which older games? Is that using steam input or something else?
BIGBANG BEAT Revolve
I look forward to your birthday presents on the 17th of august xd
Can anybody tell the best cpu for under 150$

" express your thoughts in a constructive manner"
that's better ty
my guess is they don't employ enough testers
Is steep available on game pass?
oh my... Been a few months since I last played Star Wars: Jedi Survivor and now I remember why. Look at the VRAM and RAM usage! 23GB on the VRAM and 29GB on the RAM. That easily the most memory intensive game I've played by far! Settings used was 4K, all epic + ray tracing enabled (turned it off again but performance really doesn't improve much, 45 FPS becomes 57 FPS)
Holy shnikeys
I am hoping that more devs optimise for linux and steam os
So not really any improvements after all that time?
could say that I guess. Think I updated the game at least twice since I last played it before giving it another go earlier today
I haven't played it yet but at this rate I may be better just getting it on PS5.
update 7 shouldn't be too far (going by the last two updates being about a month apart) so I wonder what it will bring
I kinda want valve to make a steam console similar to the ps5 and series x in terms of specs and have it connect to my tv
I didn't ever use the old steam controller. Not sure how that worked out
Steam Deck is roughly on par with XB1 and PS4 and you can hook that up to your TV
https://www.techpowerup.com/311294/amd-planning-september-launch-for-radeon-rx-7800-series-and-rx-7700-series
September looks like it is going to be very busy!
eh
I wish I had any care for AMD's GPU's atm
they're just exceptionally uninteresting
we all have our preferences and stuff. I'm just going through a phase still with AMD where things seem pretty good for them. Can't wait to see what Zen 5 and RDNA 4 bring but I'm still looking at what Nvidia do on the GPU front and Intel on both the CPU and GPU front
It's less preferences and more the fact that AMD's tech is literally just
not that interesting
they make great APU
but only in raster
when intel's first generation discrete are more interesting and impressive than AMD's lineup, there's an issue.
The larger amount of VRAM is the main draw to AMD atm from my pov
it's ironic though
AMD's VRAM counts are great....for VR
otherwise generally somewhat useless at anything other than 4k
yeah, Intel has a lot of potential to disrupt AMD but its still going to take them some time and 1st gen ARC hasn't been without a bunch of issues both with the GPU and its drivers but also the team working on them. Intel need to try and keep a team together and really build some solid foundation and progress, from there AMD are for sure in trouble but Nvidia are way ahead in so many ways
RT? AMD's performance is so poor that it doesn't matter that there's enough memory for the BVH to be stored.
since the actual RA units are too weak to handle anything even remotely complex
until AMD goes to dedicated RT-focused cores, they're going to lag behind
Intel's:
- Cheaper
- More performant
- Can handle Machine-learning tasks and upscaling
- Has dedicated RT Silicon and outcompetes AMD in spades
8GB is really struggling though atm and 12GB for a high end card isn't really enough for the longer term. the 6800 actually beats out the 3070 in some games now for ray tracing due to VRAM issues alone. HW unboxed did a video on it.
AMD in general isn't really enough for the long term with their current architectural design
thing is AMD might not even focus entirely on RT with RDNA 4. There was an interview a while back where they said they'd be doing their own thing so idk what that'll mean for RT going forward
Unless they use neural net algorithms for RT acceleration
but that also requires ML Silicon

like, AMD also needs more VRAM for RT focus since the RAU are so slow
they can't buffer BVH calculations quickly enough
so they sit in VRAM for longer
all it'd take is NVIDIA bumping their VRAM up and AMD's performance is effectively worthless
cheaper, sure.
but for what?
isn't the ML silicon there with RDNA 3?
I can't recall if it was ever included. I know it was rumored before launch
but to my knowledge it never made it on-die
there is something to do with ML that RDNA 3 has, I'll have to look back on the slides when the 7900 XT/XTX launched as it had it
it says it does
but it doesn't support any practical use for it atm
the most I've heard is it being used for other things unrelated to gaming. to the point it's barely a footnote in their marketing
I did have the 3070 at one point but got the 3080Ti about a year ago as I was constantly running out of VRAM if I wanted to use higher texture settings even at 1440p. I know some recent games like last of us and Forspoken looks really bad on 8GB before getting patched but will only be more of an issue going forward. RE4 also crashes on the 3070 if you want to use ray tracing and higher textures due to running out of VRAM while the 6800 will still work through it ok.
I mean, arguably the 3070 is not designed for ultra-high end stuff
interesting, then it could be that AMD's focus goes more in the direction of ML technologies with RDNA 4
unlikely
FSR is still designed to be ML Agnostic, unless they really want to update it to take use of ML across the board.
at which point PS5 would be stopped at FSR 2.x
The 3070 was more than capable but it really needs 16GB to make use of those features
you're loading higher textures which also means a more detailed BVH on higher settings
that's not more than capable
those by design would be higher impact settings for higher performance cards
also considering RE Engine's RT implementation in the Resident Evil games is honestly kinda terrible
well there is some talk that FSR 3 could be exclusive to AMD hardware, whether that would also include the consoles idk (I'd think so, somehow) but it could be making use of ML on top of being a rival to DLSS 3 + Frame Generation
there was also talk of FSR 3 being a driver level implementation, a replacement for the exisiting RSR (Radeon Super Resolution) that apparently uses FSR 1 on a driver level
3070 was definitly limited though. Comparing it to the 2080Ti which usually gets similar results the extra VRAM there definitely helps in same scenarios
2080Ti doesn't outperform in BVH calculations though
remember we're at a point to where rasterization performance is honestly just....not impressive to talk about
I don't care if a game runs at 5fps faster on something using 15 year old rendering techniques
since I'm buying a GPU that is supposed to last me into the future
a future where more and more engines are moving to wholly RT implementations
I still strongly prefer rasterization performance over ray tracing and path tracing that right now require solutions like DLSS to keep performance decent. Will try new games and their RT implementations as they release or update but they won't stay enabled for long considering the performance that that is to be had turning it all off. In some instances as much as 3x performance gains to be had
rasterization performance as it's standing now has peaked
realistically it's beyond diminishing returns for games coming out
even greater gains if you count Cyberpunk 2077's path tracing. Get like 3 FPS at 4K ultra + path tracing vs 65-70 FPS at 4K ultra. I know what I'd be picking all day long
at least to a point where VRAM will make as much of a difference. unless of course you're running 4k Textures on a 1440p display
You're blaming path-tracing for AMD's own inadequacies
that is flawed logic
like
It's not even funny how bad AMD's going to be at RT performance when wave-optical light simulation gets implemented into RT
sure, it's going to take AMD some serious catching up, which I do have doubts they will but here's hoping they do make some ground. RDNA 2 was like AMD's GPU equivalent to a Zen 3 moment. They need to have more of those and really keep the pressure on Nvidia where they can
I had RDNA1 on the 5700XT. That thing had a lot of issues in hardware and drivers. Seems like 2 at least sorted that out.
but remember. AMD's still playing catchup in just Rasterization
the one place that everyone else is effectively positioning to leave behind sooner rather than later
I just meant in the overall performance gains, especially vs RDNA 1. Many people were even writing AMD off in the GPU space pre RDNA 2 iirc and they hushed a lot of them up with what they released. Of course the RT stuff is lacking but that was first gen RT tech. Nvidia wasn't exactly all that impressive with their first gen RT tech either. These things are going to take time
yeah. performance gains wise RDNA2 is literally just a zen 1 level jump
a good baseline
but still an exceptional amount of work to do to be remotely competing on the same playingfields as everyone else
well more of that and then some Zen 3 moments would be great for AMD and much needed
I have major doubts though, as I said that AMD could have a Zen 3 moment with their GPUs where they really take Nvidia to the sword like they did with Intel due to the sheer difference in budgets they have to work with. Probably end up going bust trying which wouldn't be good
without Zen 3 I think we'd still be on quad core CPUs, maybe moved onto 6 cores but I doubt we'd have anything like P cores and E cores and CPUs with combined core counts of 12+ cores (outside of HEDT at least)
Yeah things always change. I remember times when AMD or NVIDIA had the better architecture.
probably because they were competing heavily
now it's just AMD barely playing catchup
Kepler for example was pretty bad compared to the 7970 at the time. Really didn't age well at all.
AMD's not exactly innovating in the graphics space when it comes to upcoming technological breakthroughs on rendering like they used to
we haven't really seen AMD compete with NVIDIA the same way that ATI did
I don't think i saw any of that play out 😦
Only got into PC gaming from 2016 properly
then you should know. applauding AMD for actually giving a damn about old stuff isn't what should be applauded.
if they want to actually move significant market share on the desktop space, they need to start competing with all of the companies in that space
even Apple Silicon has a better RT-focus than AMD
still honestly feel like a real newbie with a lot of the stuff but learning as I go along and hope I'm making some progress with that... Idk though
Kepler basically GTX 600 and 700 series aged like milk compared to AMD cards at the time. Didn't support DX12 fully and didn't work well with newer techniques that the consoles were using
yeah, that was a little before I got into all this. My first GPU was a 980 Ti (Maxwell) tfw Nvidia's GPUs cost around $650-700 for top tier performance
Maxwell was much better than Kepler at least
at least Kepler wasn't Fermi
well I had nothing but a GTX 750 prebuild to go off of before that. Something I'd rather forget. Targeted the high end since where I could but cost is becoming an issue so I either have to look at spacing it out or look at the next best tier that hopefully costs less, just like the old 980 Ti vs Titan X costs were. Only thing I may be lacking is some VRAM and CUs still a new GPU that will likely provide some improvements over the GPU before it, even a tier below
I still have a GTX570 around here somewhere in an XP rig lol. It gets really hot but at least the drivers seem alright still. Obviously it's just an offline machine
I heard a bunch of stuff about Fermi GPUs lol
HD 5000 and 6000 were pretty good at the time and decent prices compared to Nvidia
This was the time when the CPU offering were awful but GPUs were peak
I have an old 2GB ATI
It was trash
Yeah
Intel's 8-core predates AMD's
Yeah 4C 8T on the mainstream intel CPUs until 8th gen intel. The Xeons had more than that
yerp
I was only aware of the 4c 8t Intel CPUs. As far as I can remember there were no actual 8 core CPUs outside of hyperthreading or HEDT (xeons and X core or whatever they called it that likely became i9) offering. AMD offering a true 8 c 16t CPU really shook things up with Zen 1 and things only improved to a point AMD really took the fight to Intel with Zen 3, hence why I call it a Zen 3 moment. Then there was also the 3D V Cache addition later
Zen 1 was just cheaper
that's the only real difference AMD made
8 core existed for a few years prior, but it was absurdly expensive.
I don't really remember games pushing more than 4 cores until around 2018. Could get away with a 2500K for like 7 years.
could get away with a lot for a long time since the CPU space didn't really move
I remember looking at a 10 core Intel option a while back and was serious about trying to get it thinking it would have been cool. Glad I never went ahead with it at the time as it was stupidly expensive (£700+ iirc) that same £700+ gets me 16+ cores now and a proud owner of a 7950X3D (even if it was a bit of an impulse purchase haha)
I'm on the 10 core 10900K still now. Was the best you could get for gaming at the time and still not bad but will probably do a new build in 2025 or whenever the next GPUs come out.
similar to the target of 3 years I hoped to reach before upgrading my 5600X (didn't quite make it to 3 years obviously) I hope to get at least 3 years out of my 7950X3D before considering upgrading the CPU again. Hopefully by that point (February 2026) AM5 as a platform is in a good place but Intel is also an option. Keeping all options wide open with the only real limitation being cost
probably not going to go for an AMD CPU with two CCD again though. This 7950X3D is a once off
I could probably push the 10900K until around 2027 if I was to guess but if I wanted a new GPU would make sense to just go with a new build as well to get the most out of it. Ryzen 3000 series though is already having issues now in games, 9th and 10th gen intel definitely have a bit more life in them at the upper end.
I think Zen 2's biggest issue is the cores were split into multiple CCX within each CCD and this was bringing up hits to performance and latency since each CCX also had its own cache. Zen 3 removed the quad core CCX and separate cache in favour of octo core CCX that became one CCD with a more unified cache. Made a big difference overall, even those jumping from Zen 2 to Zen 3 saw it
(at least that's how I understand how Zen 2 to Zen 3 played out)
on Intel 10th gen though, aren't they EOL? firmware updates etc no longer supported. Might still have some life in it but lack of updates, even if minor could become a security risk amongst other things
Don't think they get integrated graphics drivers anymore but the motherboards themselves are still getting updates and it will be supported on W11 until that is done.
Most important thing is that you are on a supported OS for general users
oh yeah, that was what I read. My bad so you should probably be good for at least another year still 🙂
i'm having a problem where my cursor is offset when i record with xbox game bar on windows 11, so say i point my cursor at something while recording, on the video it appears to not actually be at where i want the cursor to show, but somewhere else like under it and to the right
if anyone could help i'd appreciate it
i just got the gta5 premium edition and shark card bundle do i have to wait for a few days or is something wrong?
This is for PC gaming. If you purchased it through xbox then you will need to play it via console.
i got it on pc
On which storefront?
GTA V on PC is not available through the Microsoft or Xbox Store.
i got it on steam
Then it should be in your library if the purchase was successful.
i got the premium edition that also gives a whale card
ive loaded in but ive gotten nothin
im assuming i gotta wait a few days
how?
go to the menu where shark cards are sold iirc. promotional ones could take a couple of days though.
if it isn't deposited into your account then contact Rockstar Support.
Okay so I’ve contacted Rockstar support and they said that I’d have to wait a minimum of 24 hours
You said you purchased it on steam
Microsoft Support can not help you with Steam Purchases.
Wait if amd makes 3d stacked gpu next gen does it mean that the gpu is 3 gpus in 1
No, it means it's more powerful for the same die area (broadly speaking)
3d stacked GPUs as in the cores or memory? They already have infinity cache that have their own chiplets with RDNA 3 (though currently limited to their RX 7900 series GPUs iirc). I could see AMD utilize the chiplet design even more in the near future. Especially if it means being able to increase performance while lowering power (like how their Ryzen processors work vs Intel and their more monolithic design) though initially for the first few generations there will probably some teething issues with power consumption and software
I assume it's cores, the cache stacking they announced in 2021
2023 they announced stacking compute
My board’s SSD slots have thermal paste on them factory, is an SSD in a heatsink okay with paste on the rear? and how should I properly store the screw-on cover which also has paste. Since it obviously won’t fit with the heatsink
I want to figure out why my Series X controller has to reconnect to my PC like every 10 seconds the last few weeks after always working fine.
M.2 slots usually have thermal pads if a heatsink is included not paste
The panel that covers the SSD, there’s paste with a peel away plastic strip on it’s underside, and more paste with a strip on the board underneath
The panel won’t fit with the heatsink, will the SSD be fine with paste on its rear?
if you are able to post a picture of what you mean it might help a bit
I don’t have attachment privilege here
hmm, ok waht motherboard and SSD have you got?
you can upload a video or picture too a sharing site then post the link here
but in genreal if your using a heatsink you shouldnt need to use pads or paste
shouldn't be paste near these M.2 SSDs. Pads, sure but that's why I'm trying to clear up and understand a bit what's going on with their M.2 slot. There's built in heatsinks that include at least one pad on the reverse side that you will want to peel the plastic off of before installing the SSD into the slot but then there are also M.2 SSDs with their own heatsinks that use just that as cooling and the built in solution won't be compatible
I’m not sure if they mean thermal pads instead of paste. Thermal paste shouldn’t be anywhere near a pcie slot.
looks like I was right with there being a new update for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Haven't checked the update notes yet but got an update for the game on the EA app
Is there a way I could export an image from Yakuza 5 on pc? There is this disclamer image and I want to download it on my pc but I couldnt find any high resolution pics of it online
Print screen?
My Xbox Wireless adapter isn't working.
Update your window drivers.
Can anyone help me out with the Wireless Adapter when using the headset on PC? For whatever reason, I can't actually adjust the system master volume
So far my only solution has been to use the actual microphone with the adapter while keeping the headset speakers on BT, but is there a way to fix it with just the adapter?
PC is BEST
No platform wars, please.
I bought dishonored and it keeps dropping to 15 or less frames when I move the mouse can someone help me figure it out

Hey , so i wanted to ask if GTA V is only exclusive for console users only ?
Yes, console only.
thanks , appreciate it
So my PC nvme I'm narrowing it down wd black sn 770 teamgroup mp34 and the Crucial P5 Plus what would u choose
Huuuh GTA v console only no it's on PC....
That was a very “5 hours later” moment
I think they meant gamepass?
the Crucial M.2 seems the best out of the three
Actually i ended up gettint the wd black not only is it a good nvme but I got a free game with it
ooh, nice!
I ended up snagging the battlefield bundle so it kinda makes it a tad better 😂
Now my main worry comes into play do I need a new power supply for my GPU I want because if I need a power supply it's probably going to be my purchase before my CPU and GPU
that's another SSD entirely and the predecessor to the SN770. Just make sure that promo is still actually active. Seems like its been around forever
Regardless the branding on the thing makes it kinda cool to me but it comes with a game code so I wanna say it is
ok, that's good
Ya says here actually
in regards to your power supply what you got just now and what CPU and GPU you getting?
Saved Part Lists
My main concern is that power supply it's on the supported list from multiple sources
But I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to run into issues while using it
Obviously at that point overclocking and upgrading is out of the subject until i get a new power supply and more then likely motherboard
never heard of that brand and power supply is one thing you really don't want to cheap out on. For a 7900 XTX I'd recommend an 850W power supply
The power supply kinda came with the PC that was gifted to me
So it's like already there but in terms of does it need upgraded is what I'm wondering
it'll have to be replaced then if you are serious about getting a 7900 XTX
Also another person told me it recommend 750
Could I realisically get the CPU first
what CPU you got right now?
I'll just causally pull the power supply from my original build idea
3600
How do I connect my wired x box controller to my game pass Pc?
I’ve tried everything
Corsair RM1000x (2021) 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply that's the power supply I'll move to loool
5800X3D will consume a bit more power than a 3600 but I can't see why there would be an issue. Just be sure to update your motherboard's BIOS version in advance to one that supports the 5800X3D just to be sure
Ya that power supply raised questions when thinkinking about how powerful the xtx actually is I'm still questioning why and how it's on the supported list
looks like your motherboard also have 4 revisions so you'll need to find a way to check what revision you got. Latest supports the 5800X3D out of the box it would appear while older revisions will require F61 BIOS version at the very least in order to boot
Ya it support it just needs a simple flash update
Flash updates are reallt easy
put it this way, I have a 7900 XTX and back when I originally got the GPU I had a 650W power supply and it was not enough. Some games caused the power supply to cut out. Something about transient power spikes at play. First time encountering it and it freaked me out to the point I bought what I'd deem a rather overkill 850W power supply but have had no such issues with the 7900 XTX since and even upgraded to a 7950X3D CPU too and again, no issues from that with the power supply
u mean connect to ur pc? most of wired controllers r plug and play
is rdr1 on pc?
For some reason I am connecting my wired controller and only game pass games aren’t detecting it
I wasted a full month of game pass already bc of this
i used both the turtle beach recon black and starfield controller no issues. Did u update the firmware?
I believe so, what would I do to double check?
u could always use kbm if u didnt want to waste the month
I have been but the main games I want to play don’t play right on kbm
It detects the controller on steam.
@smoky flame any better gameplay wth jedi survivor with updates?
latest update was just a small one, v6.5. No real changes. I uninstalled the game but will revisit it some day
then i made the right choice with getting hogwarts legacy and wait til survivor hits ea play in several months
I got it free with my CPU so I can't really complain but it definitely needs some serious fixing
damn. that makes it even worse 4 me. i got only a 5600 vs ur 7900x3d
whats withpc gamepass telling me to join for £1 then only offering the 8 and 13 quid options
the 1 pound is only for new subscribers
yeah but ive bought it multiple times for £1 yet i still get the option every few months but even though i cant buy it why advertise that its for sale for £1
they did say its for new subscribers. u got 2 read the fine print
true but since im not a new subscriber why is it telling me i can buy it for £1 when quite clearly i cant, i guess microsoft is getting lazy
My game is now detecting the controller but I can’t press anything
that better but still not good.
how did u fix it?
There is a setting for xbox that disabled controllers
damn. silly mistake lol
Fr
@wanton sedge whats ur next game? im playing a few games on my backlog til starfield
main story is very long lol
did u did everthing or just main story?
Everything
Blah, silly windows update is boot looping the HTPC. I think it's the Nvidia drivers though, so full power to 480p, install the update, install the drivers. That's tomorrow afternoon planned
Did u speedrun?
No
Should I build a pc or buy a pre built?
building a PC means there is no additional costs while having full control of a build and being able to add higher quality components than most prebuilds will offer, though that itself might come at a higher cost
yo does anyone know how to play xbox on desktop monitor
Some prebuilds have the option to upgrade parts. For me the cost is about the same. The pro for build on your own is that you can save by waiting for the sale on the part. I normally do a mix of both, find I prebuild I like and then upgrade parts as sales come along.
Xbox + HDMI + monitor
i did that and nothing is happening
Did you switch the input on your monitor?
nah
And your desktop isn't an all-in-one PC, right?
oh it is aio
Then it's not a monitor
f
Barely any AIO's have an HDMI in
It's almost certainly an out
If it is an in, you'll have to find how to switch the input
FWIW, I once owned an AIO with an HDMI in (it was a long time ago)
cant find a way to switch yet
Are you sure it’s an in?
Next 2-3 years exciting for monitors, personally will look to buy OLED 1440p 480Hz when it’s released
What resolution is 5120x2160?
Dual 4K ain't it? 4k+4k?
I think that would be 7680x2160. Samsung have the Neo G9 2023 that will have a dual 4K ultra wide display
no its just wider 4k
definitely can't wait to see what the future of monitor display tech brings and going beyond 4K. I've no interest in ultrawides so my next major resolution upgrade will probably be 5120x2880 (5K or 2880p?
)
The gpus really 2 play catchup with 5k and up on those monitors lol
Only 5K screen I've used was the one built into the iMacs
Can u tell the diff between 4k and 5k?
I can't really tell the difference between them at 27 inches.
going to need a much larger screen. Ideally one that doesn't require any scaling on windows end (100%) but that at 4K is like 45 inches so it will be even more at 5K. At that point it becomes a TV lol
True. But at that price its probably cheaper getting a tv as ur display though
OLED TVs are quite pricey and generally not high refresh rate
I can definitely tell the difference between 1440p and 4K at 27 inches but more than that it's not really noticeable
Who is actually using 5k screens. Nobody makes anything in 5k not netflix or anybody
Passengers was 6K intermediate
just used one of those pixels per inch calculators and it said for 100% scaling on windows on a 5K monitor it would need a 60 inch monitor... Maybe I won't bother with that idea lol
So not yet but it's possible there might be some benefit
I have a 65" 4K and it's still set to 300% scaling
Yeah you need some form of scaling
Well not until those monitors or gpus support 5k at high fps and more reasonably priced lol
My 4K screens are scaled down to fit 1440p real estate otherwise things are way too small
Though probably not for several years
I can understand it from a productivity perspective
Same diff really
TVs have some weird scaling stuff going on. I tried the LG C1 I originally bought for myself (brother now has it) and it scaled to 300%. Icons and everything was huge. Guessing windows scaling wasn't made for 4K and higher still resolutions in mind?
It's just 1440p real estate but everything is much sharper
Is there any content in 5k rn?
Not that I know of
I mean you can easily change it, but sat 6' away means I can't read nout at 100%
Same
there is a cheat I can do to get 5K resolution. Hold on
What I'm imagining this looks like
No. Thats too damn close at that size
I don't really like playing games on a huge screen for me either personally.
Same
Nice
going to try and run Diablo 4 on that. See how my 7900 XTX does 😄
@smoky flame does ur monitor actually displays 5k?
Got a fire extinguisher on standby I hope
no, native 4K but using AMD VSR. Nvidia have a similar feature
could go all the way up to 8K
8K or "8K"
Plus i saw a YouTube vid that people cant tell diff between 4k and 8k in gaming
I can't see myself ever getting an 8K screen. I don't need the extra pixels
I've seen that and seen an 8K TV that didn't seem any different to 4K that was stood next to it
Unless it was the content I guess
ooh, it actually applied 😮
4K feels more like a nice to have for me in terms of games. I am ok playing at 1080p if needs be, still looks decent.
Its not like the average joe could afford 8k monitors rn
I'm with you. But there are dozens of people that would argue the toss until the cows come home. HDR/WCG is more of a leap than 4x the pixels
Tbh i play in 4k but i rarely play in hdr
Still crazy to me that the PS4 can do 1080p/HDR
Yeah I remember it was patched in but wasn't for the fat XB1. Can't remember why now
wow, 60+ FPS (seems to peak at around 80 FPS) at "5K" on Diablo 4
That's more than playable to me
Hardware probably?
How about 4k?
Much VRAM usage difference between 4K with max textures?
I heard you need 16GB for max textures alone
4K can pass 100 FPS
VRAM usage hits over 23GB at both 4K and 5K at maxed settings so no real difference. Pretty sure I'm being limited by VRAM, which is crazy to even say with 24GB lol
Yeah that is mad
reverted back to 4K. Was a fun little test haha
UltraWide 4K
Could say 5K
My OLED TV is 120Hz which is as good as LCD 240Hz.
At 27” probably not, but there will be benefits until you reach around 480 PPI
Although imo the best size for desktop 4K is 32”
1440p is perfect for 27” when going for high FPS
Although 4K does look ridiculously good & sharp on 27”
I’d trade resolution for the 480Hz
part of me still wishes I had waited for 4K OLED 240Hz monitors to hit the market. I'm not sure I can justify going from a 4K 240Hz mini-LED monitor to OLED 😦
No comparison between the 2, OLED is just far superior but hey it’s 2-3 years away anyway
sure but I could have just waited, saved up and been more than ready for when they do land on shelves. Not to say I won't be ready but mini-led certainly hasn't been what I expected. ThoughI think my problem was having seen what OLED can do with the LG C1 I had bought before this monitor. To see the true power of this monitor I need to enable local dimming as contrast gets much deeper but it comes at the cost of a halo like effect due to limitations around the FALD zones. Something OLED doesn't have since every single pixel is effectively a zone being self lit
actually wonder how well my phone's camera will pick up the difference between auto (loacal dimming appears to be off in this mode) and setting local dimming to high...
left is auto and right is local dimming set to high
That’s why I never turned on zoning when I had a FLAD display
The blooming and cost to performance was too bad
local dimming is only good on extremely high zone-count monitors
which are much more expensive than that one
this monitor has a lot of dimming zones though. Most I've seen on a monitor (though I will admit I've kind of fallen behind since about this time last year with monitors so it may not be the most now)
how many does it have?
1196 zones. There are larger TVs I have seen with far less that cost similar
idk. that's fairly average for upper-mid end monitors atm
hmm, what is the higher end's local dimming zones count?
1200-1300.
it's not much higher
but it also has to consider panel type. monitors with over 1100Mini-LED dimming zones shouldn't have that much blooming
could it be to do with the brightness I have it set at? I've noticed blooming on my living room TV but that caan be excused (despite costing £100 more than this monitor did) as it is 55 inches, 4K and has less than half the zones, lol
also, you should see it with text... Looks horrible. Blooming all over the place 😦
You’re going to get blooming regardless
Even if it had 2,500 zones
It’s just nature of the technology.
@smoky flamewhat monitor is that one?
I've got a Neo G9 with 2048 zones, so 1024 per 27" screen, essentially, and a Sony A80J - the G9 has impressed me, sure there's some blooming and things like starfields you can tell, but all in all it holds up pretty well against the OLED
and it's far brighter
I'm chilling till the 77" s90c goes down a bit more. 4k 144hz qdoled
I have the Neo G8
I love Samsung's naming nonsense. Almost as good as apple for giving technology interesting names to make them sound more impressive than they are
Lol
Samsungs is usually easily to understand
S = Top Tier Category
90 - model tier
C - Product Year
I meant their "quantum dot" nonsense
Quantum Dot is literally qled
I don't see how that's non-sense
Quantum Dot is a technology used in display panels to enhance color reproduction and overall picture quality. Quantum Dots are tiny semiconductor nanocrystals that can emit precise and vibrant colors when exposed to light or an electrical current. These dots are used as a color filter in LED-backlit LCD displays.
Here's how it works:
-
Blue LED backlight: The TV's backlight consists of blue LEDs, which are used to provide the initial light source.
-
Quantum Dots: Between the LED backlight and the LCD layer, there is a film containing Quantum Dots. These dots absorb the blue light emitted by the LEDs and re-emit it as more specific colors.
-
Color filtering: The light passes through the Quantum Dots, which filter it into red and green colors.
-
Color mixing: When combined with the existing blue light, this filtered light creates a broad spectrum of colors, resulting in more accurate and vibrant color representation on the screen.
The use of Quantum Dot technology in QLED TVs allows for a wider color gamut and better color accuracy compared to traditional LED-LCD TVs. This results in improved HDR (High Dynamic Range) performance, richer colors, and enhanced viewing experiences.
QLED is just LED with a fancy named filter...got it
(Which is exactly my point)
Your point is that they use this name to make it fancy, but they do indeed use quantum Dots, quantum Dots are the appropriate naming for this technology.
Then this was a bad example, they definitely pull that though in marketing
How would you call the use of Quantum Dots in your technology? Like I don't get what's the problem in its naming.
It's literally perfect, quantum isn't a fancy word, neither are dots.
And you're blaming samsung for this "non-sense", when other company like sony, hisense and TCL use it too.
...I already admitted it was a bad example 🤨
You also did say that they pulled it though in marketing,, I don't get if you tried to use it as an argument .
Every single company promotes a new technology when they discover one, how is Samsung the one to blame then?
S pen is one. It's...a touch pen... But no, call it S pen because it's Samsung 😂
First of all, this argument was about qled,
Here are some reasons why the Samsung S Pen is more than just a marketing tool:
-
Enhanced User Experience: The S Pen offers a more intuitive and natural way to interact with the device compared to using fingers alone. It enables precise drawing, note-taking, and navigating through menus and apps with greater accuracy.
-
Productivity and Creativity: The S Pen enhances productivity by allowing users to take notes, draw, edit documents, and perform other tasks more efficiently. It is especially useful for professionals, artists, and students who rely on digital note-taking and drawing capabilities.
-
Air Actions: In some Samsung devices, the S Pen comes with Air Actions, which means you can use gestures in the air to perform various actions, such as switching camera modes, controlling multimedia playback, and more. This feature adds an extra layer of convenience and innovation.
-
Remote Control: In certain Samsung devices, the S Pen can serve as a remote control, allowing you to take photos, control presentations, and navigate through the device's interface without physically touching the screen.
-
Integration with Software: Samsung has integrated the S Pen with specific software applications, enabling unique features and functionalities. For example, you may get additional options when using the S Pen in certain drawing or note-taking apps.
-
Specific Device Compatibility: The S Pen is designed to work with specific Samsung devices, such as the Galaxy Note series and select tablets. This integration showcases that it is more than just a generic stylus, tailor-made to complement the capabilities of these devices.
I honestly don't get why your hate is centralized to Samsung, like how is S pen even fancy
It's a touch pen.
I'm pretty sure it's not just a touch pen
