where's the cost saving
the 4090 is 100% a fire hazard
but it won't be in several months
NVIDIA always adjusts designs when issues crop up like this
thing is it is a flagship product that costs an absurd amount. This should have been tested to the point that any issues would have been found and corrected before consumers even got their hands on the cards. If I paid $1700 for a GPU I'd certainly expect the very best and no less
we have no way of knowing the circumstances of testing
especially since release vbios and testing vbios are not the same
besides the fire hazard it does deliver on being the very best, for now at least but that fire hazard is a huge no-no
yeah, AMD's not overthrowing NVIDIA this gen
again though I feel there should be a level of testing that ensures a GPU bought doesn't go up in smoke. Maybe that is why Nvidia made it so even when you buy a 4090 you may not get it right away as there is additional testing to be done
they're honestly barely inching their way as it stands now. the move to chiplets was a good one, but the oversight on the bespoke futurproofed feature (RT) and absolute obfuscation of the data during the keynote are not the best of decisions
Also the AI accelerators
They have no real use outside of games
🙃
So productivity/production software can’t even make use of their AI features with it as it stands
yeah, the potential chiplet GPUs have is immense and upon reflecting on it I am somewhat disappointed but there is always the next GPU or the one after that which may further expand on the chiplet design and we may soon see that 12288 core rumoured monster GPU since 2x 7900XTX 6144 CUs is exactly that and that's what 96 worker groups? 192 if doubled and RT cores with it
Yes but when it’s always “maybe next time” is it ever next time?
AMD hasn’t been on top in a decade now
And the hopium has persisted since Navi
well they have unleashed chiplet to the GPU market so lets see where it takes them or Nvidia or Intel if they pick up the idea and use it on their GPU end rather than memory
Intel could do with a "game changer" on their end and a GPU with dual GPU dies would certainly get them competing with Nvidia but cost and power would be a major issue I'd imagine, unless it was two lower power dies and not something crazy like the equivalent to 2x 4090 lol but then again AMD could jump on that and sure, the first GPU chiplet may use a fair bit of power but if they work their efficiency magic like they seem to have done with the 7900 XTX then who's to say what follows after isn't something that could take AMD to the top again?
intel currently beats AMD in RT performance currently (in DX12 titles ofc)
damn thats wild
is the Antec NX Series NX700 Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case or Antec Dark League DF600 FLUX for 5600 and 6900xt with 1 nvme and 1 hdd
for 5600?
just look at your GPU dimensions to make sure it fits
it fits
nice, that should work then
i have this case its kind of big but anything fits in it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PT8SRZG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
any difference between this and the df600?
it says that one is slightly bigger and probably airflow
i got the one i have for airflow mostly
both same price on amazon. i will get 600
i dont think you can buy anything that doesnt fit in thsoe cases tbh 🤣
Anyone want crunchyroll premium 1 month-pc game pass 1 month-pc game pass 3 months-tower of fantasy avatar pack for free ? I got them from discord nitro and I will not use them
sure
100% scaling on windows is so small on a 4K 32 inch monitor. Seeing if I can get used to it or not. Think I'm sitting too far back
Hello, does anyone want an Xbox code for €34?
#rules 💵 13. No buying, selling, or trading items/codes on the server. Do not ask for codes, handouts, or freebies either.
yeah, default scaling recommends I use 150% too but I find that awkward when some programs may not take to scaling properly and would much rather put it to 100%, which is effectively no scaling
oops, may have forgot to turn off ping there. Using Discord on my iPhone for a change lol. My bad there 😅
Actually I use 175% which is more like 1080P but super sharp but I like the big text. You can change scaling per app as well to make the old ones work properly. Dw I don't care about ping
ooh, I heard 4K 27 inch would need even more scaling, yeah. Some say 1440p is optimal for 32 inches and I have changed the res to 1440p and right enough it selects 100% scaling as recommended but oddly enough when I was gaming at 1440p on a 27 inch display (my old Samsung Odyssey G7 2020 model) there was no scaling being applied when surely it would have at least been set to 125%
Windows isn't really great with scaling but I can put up with it for the benefits of much sharper text and images. I had my first 4K monitor in 2018 and then a lot of apps had issues but now it seems 90% of them scale fine with 4K with windows scaling
Currently using a cheap laptop while I wait to get a new PC. Anyone helpp me with "Radeon Settings: Host Application" taking 70% CPU?
Because that blows.
Ow I remember having a similar issue. I did a clean install of the driver and the problem went away. It seemed to occur when upgrading from one driver version to a new one in my case.
Mhmm I will try that. Because it's making the computer pretty useless right now.
Yeah I used DDU specifically and wiped all AMD stuff of it. Seems to be a bug in the upgrade process
Good call I was just trying to remember how to remove a graphics driver.
Guys I’m running windows 7
Ok and?
That’s soil
Cool
EVGA actually made a 4090 before breaking away from NVIDIA's tyrannical rule... and this would have been one of the most awesome 4090s ever.

We're tearing down the last video card EVGA ever made - the RTX 4090 FTW3 by EVGA on NVIDIA's Ada GPU architecture. The company last told us that it had no plans to ever make another video card -- that could change, we'll see -- and if it maintains that commitment, this would be its...
i like watching when they tear it down to see whats inside tbh
Ah.... the what could've been. Now make amd cards evga
So honestly i hope this 4090 burned cabled thing really pushes aib's to side with evga and tell nvidia to screw off
👀 afaik there is no confirmation EVGA has gone AMD though I'd totally buy an EVGA 7900 XTX FTW in a heartbeat!
they're done with GPU entirely.
can anyone suggest any free games on the xbox app (no subscription) i have a i5 4310U and 4gb ram
and maybe steam too
There is little you can do on that tbh
which types of game you want tho
single player is good
mostly singe player
call of duty franchise could be a good idea
since older call of duty titles are less graphically intensive than battlefield ones
oh ok
which ones?
You probably want to look into older games 2012 and earlier. For multiplayer Team fortress 2 and league of legends might be ok
Old counter strike games are still populated as well
csgo dont work
ok
Counter strike source and 1.6 still have players and should work ok
Left 4 dead as well
if i can run them ok
Open question, for folks with a Gaming PC: do you use it for other things, like for content creation, editing, homework, etc?
I do use it for other stuff like mass storage device lol, and also doing stuff like smaller photo editing and then also some experimenting ig you call it
mostly for gaming here
Thx. Consider it a casual poll.
Mine is dead right now, but there are a lot of uses I put it to other than gaming. It's barely a 'gaming PC' for me, more a 'PC that can game'.
Which makes it somewhat a pain in the butt right now. I can replace all the things I do with it, but not so easily.
Thx. I totally get the distinction, where it's a PC that can game.
I see my own PC as that: my Pro 8 has the CPU and RAM and NVMe storage a plenty for gaming but it's only going to game when I plug in a GPU.
at times I wish I could put my PC to more use than just gaming but I don't think I'm all that creative to do so. Would be cool, especially as PC hardware grows more powerful in compute performance etc. Got to be other stuff I can do with it that doesn't completely revolve around just video games
I use my gaming PC for all the things lol
I have a TV that I never use bc I just use my PC to watch things. I also use it for music bc... It's easy
I am not sure if my TV is even plugged in right now. 👀
I was gonna us a split for a monitor and a tv. Us the monitor to browse the internet and other things then turn on the TV to game.
AMD's latest game bundle https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/raise-the-game
nice
If I buy a laptop can I get a graphics card to use for but external
I use my pc for gaming and entertainment mostly and MacBook for actual work
External GPU is a thing, but I have zero experience of it. I feel like Randy might have implied that he uses something such?
Hey guys is there any advantage to get non gamepass games on the xbox app or should I just get it on steam?
I have friends who play on xbox so is there any perks of playing on the xbox app or not?
Xbox achievements is about it really.
I mean there is a few that uses thunderbolt but it's not cheap last I checked
ran a FH5 benchmark at 4K maxed settings with ray tracing off and FSR set to quality. I like this result
4K and maxed settings though. RT set to extreme it is 81 FPS so really not that much lower and it is within the region of an option I'd use since it doesn't cost anywhere near as much as a lot of other games and their RT settings tend to. Even with RT on and no FSR it is still above 60 FPS for the most part. December 13th going to be exciting times!
that's more of what I'm getting at
FSR's not really doing too much uplift
that or you have a lower spec gpu
“The Gunk” was pretty fun to play
Red Devil 6800 XT so definitely not lower spec GPU

you should definitely be getting higher performance
wait, really?
hmm
at 4k?
yes
those framerates with RT disabled are definitely closer to what you should be seeing at native
what
interesting, going to check it out. Might have to verify the files or something idk. Performance seemed pretty good to me
Going to run a 4K maxed settings no rt or fsr benchmark and see what the fps shows. if I was to guess ahead it will be in the mid 70’s
pretty much bang on with my guess
What settings do you have or is your GPU on default
afaik the scene FH5 uses for its benchmark is one of the most intensive parts of the game (driving around Guanajuato) so results may not be 100% true for the rest of the game and just to add to make sure you are aware there is setting beyond the ultra preset. I have cranked those up to max too, which may explain the seeming loss in performance otherwise idk. First time being aware of any performance loss. I'm on AMD's latest chipset driver and GPU driver (22.10.3)
GPU is completely default/stock. Never really seen a need to oc the GPU
I only messed with them just because. I ended up getting better performance with those settings though.
that's cool, is it getting more common with heatsinks? I remember it being kinda rare for manufacturers to include that
Bought it for benchmarking purposes and presenting results later as a content piece for halo infinite
How much difference between ddr4 and ddr5 versions of z690 in performance in games?
Was it worth the investment some of the ddr5 ram i saw was like min 100 usd for 8gb
Oh
@surreal moss was the ddr mobo and ram worth the investment?
I haven’t powered it on yet
Still cleaning up
It’ll be worth it for the content I’ll be making
Interesting, might delay my upgrading longer, knew 32gb DDR4 was already a lot
So basically ddr5 is most useful 4 conent creators people who just game should stick with ddr4 mobo and ram
Or am i wrong
huh how come I see 2x 16GB kits?
also I'd say if you plan to game at 4K you are going to want to make sure you have at least 32GB DDR4 or DDR5 RAM. Some of my Forza Horizon 5 benchmarks earlier showed that 16GB is no longer enough and unfortunately there is no inbetween step or I'd have recommended 24GB so 32GB it is (again, for 4K gaming)
I’m not sure if you typed it wrong but 2x16 is 32
ik but I thought you meant per stick so my bad I guess lol
ok, thanks for clearing that up and apologies for the confusion there 😅
why is the latency so high on DDR5 tho
the much higher speeds and latency on DDR5 can't be compared directly to DDR4 speeds iirc so while it may look slow it is actually very fast
think I've picked out a new case I fancy getting which might mean my biggest upgrade since the CPU upgrade back in late 2020 and if I go for a new power supply, which I think I will need if I am serious about buying a 7900 XTX that'll be the last two components from my original build back in 2016 gone. Case is Fractal Design Torrent and I'd be going for the one with no glass and as little RGB lighting as possible. That then backed up with a CPU upgrade later in 2023 featuring the 7800X3D and 2x 16GB 6000MHz DDR5 RAM. 4K isn't ready for me
That’s normal as ram continues to improve
DDR4 might have had a cas latency of like 12-20, but DDR3 was single digits
And DDR2 even less
Cas isn’t super important, and the offset by much larger increased frequency makes it irrelevant anyway
It’s important, but not something game changing
Ram gets really really expensive as you chase lower cas
damn, well i guess its a good thing latency doesnt make a huge difference then
DDR5 will continue to come down
Anything sub 20 was super expensive when ddr4 first launched
Now you can get sub 15 for cheap
DDR5 launched with a cas latency of 40+, now you can get 30 or lower for the same price
nice
Should wait till the 7800x3d
should i pull the trigger on the 6800xt or wait til black friday on newegg
am5?
you waited this long might as well see if theres anything on black friday
i just worried that my gpu gets sold out during black friday
i guess that could be a possibility i did see the 5800X3d sell out like two weeks ago when the price dropped to three hundred something
i saw several 6800xt and 6900xt got sold out over the last few days
damn, i mean i guess if its at a good price you could pull the trigger
519 after mail in 20 usd rebate with 2 free games callisto protocol and dead island 2
nice
2 brand new games for basically free. So you'd also be saving 120 on those alone.
yep
Is your drives full of Games or what ?
Basically my explorer
only a few
mostly just a bunch of assets, project files, and documents
Will the Gtx 1650 run assassins creed origins
Maybe for it’s price
I mean I saw a 1060 for only 90 online
It’ll run whatever you want it to. It’s just how well you want it to run
Yea medium settings will be Alr tbh
That’s what I would play at anyway

How much is the 3080ti msrp Canadian dollars
might want to search that yourself but I do know the 3080 Ti price has dropped below the $1199 (USD) launch price and by quite a bit too
Didn't know such tomfoolery was possible 😆
what in the
is that phased out years ago lol
I just bought a new pc. The specs are great and my internet speed/connection is great, but I still manage to get just 10mb download speed when I download a game from game pass ultimate library. I tried looking online for tips and tried a bunch, but nothing so far seems to work. What can I try? I'm on Windows 11
On my xsx I get around 200mb, although my internet plan is 500/500
So 10mb is just miserable considering what I should be getting
are you on wifi or something
Yea
maybe its the wifi adaptor you are using on your PC, is it a USB adaptor
I have a prebuilt pc connected to the wifi
how is it connecting to wifi though? if it is a USB dongle type then it will be slow but if the wifi is built in to the motherboard I don't see how your speeds are so low. My connection is 1130 mbps down/52 up and can get the full download speed no bother thanks to wifi 6
I'm gonna try to unistall the antivirus program and see if that makes a difference
that will slow things down further. Windows Defender should be adequate for most users and is free
prebuilds usually throw in a cheap dongle in there, im assuming thats why hes getting low speeds
I honestly don't know the answer to your question. Do I have to open the panel to know?
a USB dongle would be connected to any usb port on the case or on the motherboard so would be visible. There is also a 3rd wifi option I somewhat forgot about pcie wifi but yeah, knowing what motherboard you have will clear things up a lot
Type in "System Information" in the search bar in task bar
should be able to see your motherboard
Didn't make a difference at all
I have this one
So apprently
Motherboard: Reno2
It says HP 89B5
i dont see anything about wifi
try your PC on a ethernet cable just to see if you get the speeds you are suppose to then you know its your wifi
gtg though its pretty late
I just checked the guide and documentation that came with the computer and it does say that it have wifi connection
could be it is pcie wifi will have been installed in addition to with that system. My brother has a system just like it. Might be worth checking device manager. To access that like system information suggestion from KBMWASD but type "device manager" then look for network adapters and it should show from there
4 items show up:
- Bluetooth device (personal area connect)
- realtek gaming gbe family controller
- realtek rtl8852ae wifi 6 802.11ax pcie adapter
- tap-surfshark windows adapter v9
- realtek rtl8852ae wifi 6 802.11ax pcie adapter
That will be what we are looking for (and it is wifi 6 too, bonus!)
😔
Dvi-d to hdmi, hdmi to vga
Why? You don't have a digital-input monitor on hand?
Don't tell me you're using a CRT that weighs roughly as much as a small car.
I funny enough don't have a monitor with DVI spare. And the monitor that I use for the build (older LCD office monitor) only has VGA
If your on a budget is it worth buying a gpu on the used market
If you can verify it works and for the best it not having been used for mining it's okay imo
does anyone ever have trouble with not receiving only party notifications? all other notifications work except party invites
could anyone one help me how to pay for game pass if your region doesn't work and you've changed it but now don't know how to pay
Resident Evil Village on Mac is an interesting release, specifically targeting Apple Silicon - so how does it play on M1 Max and M1 Ultra hardware? It turns out that this is actually a rather pedestrian story - though it seems that the #StutterStruggle affects Mac too - the big news here is how good Apple's MetalFX Upscaling actually is, compar...
It's actually impressive.
comparable if not better than FSR
Hey, looking for a solution for another guy. He's using a 360 controller and has weird stick sensitivity.
If you pull all the way, you go to a faster walkspeed than if you pull it in a middle between directions
but my xbox 360 controller isnt registering the max capacity for some reason
i was trying to redeem a game pass code but when i tried adding my debit card it locked my region as USA and i cant change it even tho my xbox (microsoft) account is set to the corrent region
Sounds like a hardware issue to me, if you can test the controller on another system then that would confirm it.
I got a steam deck recently. First pc I've ever owned. It's amazing. Finally got a fair share of ps exclusives including Spiderman, days gone, god of war. Sadly not the new god of war but still amazed. And Xbox exclusives too. All portably on a Handheld Device. And I can mod the games too. So amazing. My series s has been gathering dust since I got my steam deck. All I've used my Xbox for is fortnite and warzone since those are unsupported on steam deck. But then again. I could install windows to make those work perfectly
I even ran freaking VR on it. And it ran Perfectly!. Well only on VRchat and steam VR home. Any demanding VR game suffered. I might try that new Re7 VR mod on it just to see if it performs alright. I know it won't. But worth a try right?
ppl who use their pc as an xbox are pog, and when i mean that they use it as an xbox i really mean it. all games are from xbox app and so on
Hi play forza on pc through the xbox app but when I try and play forza with my controller it keeps on glitching out and being really wierd can anyone help me
also, less than 1 month to go now for RX 7900 series launch!
same as I'm always like "ohh new shiny thing I need to buy!" I become almost magpie-like lol but all super exciting no less (imo at least)
Less gooooo
hello
Would be great if it didnt forcibly install that when i lost power last nigjt
Hey, is the Win 10 adapter discontinued in Canada? I bought the wireless headset but wasn't be able to find the adapter for reasonable price
I know I can use it with my laptop's Bluetooth, but still

rn its 59,94 hz and i wanted to put it on 75 hz
In what gaming or general stuff?
both
or nvm gaming
does it eat more elictiri?
idk hów to spell it in english
General would be no issue. In gaming depends on what game u r playing and what graphics card u r using
Gaming will use more power than general use
athlon 3000g vega 3 ik its bad
but i am buying a new card
Make sure ur power supply is enough for ur new card and there will be little bottleneck between cpu and ur new card
Is that a igpu
Whats that
Gtx 970 i wanz to buy
Its when cpu have an intergrated graphics on the cpu
Which games
Rn i al playing all my games very good Csgo, hoi4, company of heroes 2, payday 2 , roblox and alot more
Check my steam acc on profile then u see
I play alot hoi4
Nice. 970 would be fine. But for any current triple a titles thats would be a maybe to a no if 970 could run those
So after seeing the benchmarks of the 4080. If amds claims of a minimum of 50% uplift over the 6950xt are true, the 7900xtx will easily pass the 4080 and nibble at the 4090 in raster and drop in around the 3090ti in terms of raytracing. If that's the case, the 7900xtx is easily gonna be my first gpu.
Gl with getting the 7900xtx. I really cant afford to drop 1k on the gpu.
4080 at 1200 seems way too much. They could probably get away with 100-150 price increase over 3080 but not near 2X the price.
They're doing it in accordance to the 30 series instead of its own new bracket. It's around 2x the performance of the 3080... so it gets 2x the price. Really stupid of them. I'm pretty sure it's more of a tactic to push more towards the 4090.
The benchmarks I’ve seen it seems about 30-40% faster than the 3080
Used a bad word in the other response lol. Anyway I was looking at rt performance between the 2. In that case there's literally no reason.

Very good
No lags i have
im thinking of swiching from a series x on a monitor to a 1500 dollar pc. is it worth it
Considering a series x/ ps5 is roughly equivalent to a 2060/2070. Aim for something better than those to notice a difference. Otherwise I would think so.
Every time I get killed in Halo, my game crashes. Drivers are up to date. It's only happening in Halo. It's very annoying because I'm trying to get reward points. 😢
yeah im planningn on 6800xt
That should be great
will the graphics be better other than better fps?
like more detail, sharper looking, better colors
Same here or 6900xt whatever available next week
I would assume so. Colors are more down to the monitor and tv you use. But detail and sharpness are configurable in settings to your liking.
That's the plus to pc. You can choose to prioritize fps or visual quality
Or both if the card is strong enough lol
I also own a 4k144 hdmi 2.1 monitor
oh ok
@versed cliff do u own a 4k monitor?
Really i own the same
i plan on using that for the pc if i get a pc and maybe getting a 1440p one
oh nice! its great
Why would u want a 1440p monitor unless u need higher fps than 144hz
since 1440p doesnt go into 4k equaly like 1080p does, the image has to be upscaled which causes it to look less sharp
Im mostly play my shooters on xbox. I like playing my single player open world game ports that arent available on xbox but those games maybe trying halo or cod on pc. 4k is good enough 4 me
1440p is worse than 4k just gives you extra fps
@versed cliff my pc is currently a rx560 2gb gpu
u wont even be able to do 4k then
Why u think im doing a full pc build then
nothing but a 4090 can do 4k 120 on intesne games
Meanwhile me, getting 3060ti for 1080p60
ti is just marketing
regular is similiar for $100 less
I will be happy with 4k60 on pc.
Im not really all that crazy about ray tracing or vr. Ray tracing isnt in many games atm
yeah but marginally not ennough to spend a lot extra
Maybe, I just have to look into stuff, I would be fine with even a 2070 lol
U want ray tracing? Is it any good on 3060ti
It’s only a secondary interest, not sure how it is but I can imagine it’s not horrible for my requirements in performance
Series X is somewhere between 6700 XT and 6800 in most comparisons. 6800XT will be a bit better probably unless the port is bad or has issues.
Ok
Wonder if this audio interface if worth even though it has 3 star review https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BBGRP5K8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

its cheap and the only complaints i read are about dumb things
Definitely closer to the 6700 XT side. 6800 and 6800 XT are a whole different beast. I think the only thing the Series X has over those cards is memory bus bandwidth otherwise it is a clean sweep and as someone who owns a 6800 XT it does an alright job of 4K gaming. Though I tend to set to ultra and forgot where most times that is unnecessary so high settings it may do even better and some games also have the option of using FSR to improve performance. 4K with FSR set to quality looks pretty good. Internally it is 1440p I believe and runs like you would expect 1440p to run
remember when sony didnt want to allow crossplay with xbox
that was back when fortnite was huge and they ended up caving in after everyone got mad 🤣
wonder when Microsoft will officially own Activision and put COD on gamepass
probably not they will just put it on gamepass hoping players will switch since they wouldnt get that deal on Playstation
@full flintjust get PC gamepass for $10 a month and play them all
they need to honor activision agreements with sony first before it could go on game pass so maybe in a few years
Idk which channel, but what site/link on the xbox app/website show all the xbox pass games for the PC
Google also works.
Can someone send a website to me where we can buy pc stuff like graphicscards
There's tons, but it's going to depend on your location. Just look it up on Google.
Newegg is a decent site from what I heard
PC part picker is probably the easiest solution if you are new
It just lists out the best prices per parts and what is compatible
#rules 💵 13. No buying, selling, or trading items/codes on the server. Do not ask for codes, handouts, or freebies either.
Oh
rip
Their gpu prices are more reasonable than amazon
Bestbuy and amazon gpus are just overpriced. And i dont have any speciality shops near me
Fair point
I was just talking about the people who returned stuff, were denied refunds. IDK the scale at which it happened but a couple big youtubers made videos on it.
Gamer Nexus was declined a return on a $500 motherboard he bought that was damaged and i think he ended up going to sit down with the execs about their policy
Maybe they changed idk since a big youtube channel made it public
I never had any issues with any of my orders from newegg though the only heavy tech i brought from them is a 4k144 hz hdmi 2.1 monitor and a new cpu for brother
i bet the majority dont have issues TBF
Its probably very rare probably same with other online retailers like Amazon
I had a mouse stolen once that got delivered and Amason just sent another one. I thought that was pretty cool
Should i get 3200 ddr4 vs 3600 ram
probably 3600 probably wont be a hige difference between either TBH
Dont Ryzen CPU's perform better with higher frequency ram
Yeah. But im not using pc other than game plus at 4k the gpu will take majority of the workload
True, get whatever you find cheaper then
If im gonna game only at 4k ram should be at least 3200 freq
I got a good score on the 4k benchmark on 3D mark with 3200 ram
I saw the ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 Ti DUAL OC V2, dropped from like $700 to $550 here, might pick it up tbh
what is it suppose to normally sell at
Nice. If u want nvidia then go for it. Im more of best perf to price thats why im getting 6800xt for around same price
6800XT is a beast
Yeah I prefer some stuff they offer
$399 is MSRP I think

The RTX 4090 12-pin cables (12VHPWR connectors) have been in the news for burning, melting, and the theories surroundin...
those first 30 seconds or so are painful to watch... That's a $1600 GPU melting. Nvidia do the right thing and recall now before harm to more than just wallets comes of this. 4080 is also using this 16/12VHPWR adapter wonder how it is doing
wow
dang, i thought prices were back to normal
They will basically never be, but also idk if it ever was available at that price
no, it has been overpriced since it came out
At least they they are a lot better than in 2020. Amd gpu prices are more inline with msrp or lower
Yea
Is ESO not on PC game pass? I own it on steam but according to the Xbox website the one on gamepass comes with one of the expansions
I believe so. I dunno the rules about importing steam characters from eso to xbox pc game pass
Lets worry about deal gets approved first
why
i
example Halo 💀
thats a long time
it is indeed lol
i only skip updates when its just support for a game i dont play
Are you going to use the nvidia adapter or buy a custom cable?
Adapter
The adapters aren’t bad. The melting is caused by internal debris from plugging/unplugging, or from incomplete seating
I’m waiting for the ROG Loki 1200w SFX to come out and the CableMod 90° adapter before I get custom cables
chonky GPU!
I sure hope I can get my hands on a 7900 XTX pretty quick when it launches. Primary GPU I'm after will be either a Sapphire Nitro+ or PowerColor Red Devil but failing that I may just go for the reference design. Going to get all the stock performance while it may lack somewhat in overclocking with only around 20W headroom unless AMD change the design slightly before launch to include a 3rd 8 pin connector which would make sense and allow for all the headroom it needs and then some. 2x 8 pin + power from pcie allows for up to 375W vs 3x 8 pin + pcie being up to 525W (and probably still far safer than a 4090)
im staying with my current GPU i still play on 1080P
Thats insane how thick the 4090 is i hit play on that video like 5 times 🤣
I was scared XLR8 was about to do a Linus and drop it the way he was holding it with a claw sort of grip 😱
rip
AMD not about to change the design, their cars will be 2x 8-pin.
The ASUS one is probably the best launch card, but I will wait until more high end versions become available, I want a AIO card too because they’re easy to install but come with both benefits of higher clocks and lower temps than air cards.
Don't burn the house down lol
We donate if he does
also likely amongst the most expensive if Asus RTX 4090 design prices are anything to go by. Think I've seen them sell for +£300 of the reference design Nvidia 4090 so assuming that Asus cards will probably come in at around £1200-1300. The AIO model, possibly even more again but it would be cool to get an AIO GPU they will likely offer the best chance of reaching 3GHz that AMD said is possible (only on the 7900 XTX though afaik)
mortal kombat 11 is 155gb on xbox game pass
on fitgirl only 50gb :/
Piracy is illegal and potentially risky. Would also like to point out that repacks are smaller download sizes in exchange for longer installation
Ofc you pay the ASUS tax but they’re generally some of the best. I want whatever extreme version AIO will be of the XTX.
Intel core i5 12 gen or ryzen 7 5500x?
what i5 is it exactly?
Does 8gb of ram can play Forza horizon 4
Check the system requirements for the game.
Thanks
cool, I'd go for the 12400F over the Ryzen 5 5500X. Just be aware you will need an Intel B660 motherboard and DDR4 RAM
hi
my latop MSİ GE66 RAİDER RTX 2070 İ7 10870H 16GB RAM 512GB NVME M.2 SSD 240HZ Windows 11 Pro
whats the difference between 6800 and 6800xt and will 6800 do 4k60
What is a better combo?
Intel Core i5 12400F + 3060 ti (8 gb)
Or
Ryzen 7 5700x + 3060 (12 gb)
Both systems with 16 gb of ram and the same motherboard ASUS Prime B550-PLUS
3060 Ti

Depends what games you want to play. The newer games will have a harder time reaching native 4K on the 6800
If you enable FSR then 4K will likely still be obtainable on most games
i probably go with 6800xt or 6900xt if 6800xt sell out without amd game bundle/over 600 usd price
Ryzen 5 5600g
Vega 7
motherboard A320MH
16gb ram ddr4
ssd 240gb

Can play some current games?
in what 1080p? is this a new build or prebuilt
1080p, its a new build
region and budget? what kind of games cod at high fps?
also ssd is that nvme or reg ssd?
I'm from Brazil, 2400R$ (445$) budget.
Wanted to play some games like GTA V, FIFA 22 or 23, CSGO, Valorant, Flight Simulator 2020, Red Dead Redemption 2
u got a cooler? its possible
Can I send the PC link here?
but intensive games like cyberpunk flight sim and red dead 2 those fps maybe 20-30 at low settings.
Will FIFA 23 perform well?
dunno. dont play fifa
sorry i was talking about myself
i dont know specs of fifa23 or 22. gta 5 should run no issues at high fps its like a 10 year old game.
if u want to buy now sure. but i would save up to get a better cpu/gpu
gpu would be a future update, for now this would be the configuration
If I wanted my friend that is on pc to join me, could he? (I'm on xbox)
On battlefield 5
But for the price do you think it's worth it?
yeah just know im not really quite sure about the 5600g for a future upgrade with a gpu
i dont use igpus at all. i rather to use separate cpu and gpu rather than igpus.
and add a little more money and buy a pc with INTEL I3-10100F, GEFORCE GTX 1650 4GB, 16GB DDR4, SSD 480GB
No, BFV doesn’t support cross platform play.
im currently running an i5-4670k and rx560 2gb and 16 gb ram. i could do cyberpunk at 1080p at 30fps. this is using a close to 10 year old pc
it really depends on ur needs and how long u will wait. im building a 4k gaming pc next week
At that point get a series s especially now that it’s on sale
In my heart I’ll always be a console gamer. But today is the day that marks the end of a era and the beginning of a new one. I have officially bought a gaming pc and am now a pc gamer.
welcome to PC gaming
Thanks! I’m very excited to start this new experience
Very nice. Will be a couple months but soon so shall I. What you packin?

Guys, I'm thinking about building a PC through aliexpress, can someone help me out there
PowerColor showed off their Red Devil design for the RX 7000/7900 series GPUs
Only problem is while it supports changing of the LEDs (got my 6800 XT Red Devil LEDs off) I'd almost want to keep it red to fit inline with the naming or if there is the feature to have it a breathing red. I haven't explored their program that allows changing of the LEDs that much but the latter would seem like it has come to life and would be pretty cool 😄
Their GPU’s are good
So my idea here is that you don't
Should i buy a used rtx 3060 ti or brand new amd radeon rx 6600xt
Which is good?
Confused!!!
3060Ti is faster and has DLSS and better ray tracing so it is better if you can find it at a similar price
Personally it depends if reseller has good reviews or not.
Yeah assuming it is from a decent seller of course
Iam thinking to get amd rx 6600 xt as its cheap and i dont care about ray tracing but idk if it have good fsr
Raster is also a lot faster for the 3060Ti. FSR is an open standard so will be fine on both
Will be a good upgrade from a gtx 1660 super?
Yeah will be considerably better
Can you still enable mods on pc if you brought games on Microsoft store?
If the game supports it, yes.

anyone tried the gun grave on gamepass? i cant play the game its asking me xbox live something
What exactly is the error you see?
"account doesnt match your dev environment". i just searched up on twitter and im not the only one experiencing this error, i think i'll just wait 🙂
is it possible to download individual halo games off the xbox store
i bought ce anniversary but i have to free up 120GB on my pc to play it because it downloads the whole thing
downloads the whole shibang and then u indivdually delete the games
i guess it's not possible to just individually download the games from the get go huh
well, thanks for the answer, being able to delete the games after installation is better than having to keep 100gb of unowned games i guess
Does anyone know why its not leeting me install forza horizon five from game pass?
would you guys recommend alienware aurora or other alienware devices
I wouldn't recommend Alienware in general
Not sure if I'm in the right place but am I able to transfer my Xbox games to pc?
If they are play anywhere titles then you can play them on both otherwise no.
Oh, thanks

pls help
You can try to download the visual studios redistributable packages manually if you are missing them from the website
i dowloaded all
still no work
Next step would be to make sure you have all the latest windows updates. If that still isn’t working then check pcgaming wiki for the game having the issue and see if any fix is listed

hi
Same thing happened to me, I uninstalled all then reinstalled all.
Drop some opinions on the games I’m probably buying, and potentially some cool title for 10€ if you know
did it work for u after it?
can the radeon rx 6600xt play games for 2 years'
Should be good enough for just 2 years. Planning on waiting for the next gen cards to really upgrade?

anyone need a pc gamepass i have no use for it
Feel free to post it in #xbox-game-pass and someone will grab it. If you got it from Nitro, be sure to mention it’s for new subs only
if i get a game on pc from the xbox app. (forza horizon 5) do i have to have the gamepass to play online or multiplayer?
Not on PC, no.
Xbox live only accounts for console
got it thanks guys 👍
anyone know any good allround pc headsets with a mic because I game, watch videos, and more
I’m bias so I recommend Arctis
bf2042 added to gamepass 🤔
Razer, Roccat, sennheiser, astro, turtle beach, they all make great headsets and theres sales on most RN
Yeah I think I’m gonna get the PC38X
yea you probably cant go wrong with any headset these days
Well mostly but yeah
I use the PlayStation pulse headset as I can use it between all the consoles and PC.
i use earbuds
i probably buy every piece of build except for gpu between now and monday
nice
gpu i will probably wait til around dec 13th when 7900xt/7900xtx launches and see if prices die down
they might since the prices on the new AMD stuff isn't insane like Nvidia's
The forest is the best game for the price right now
already bought it 👍
Is it better to put an OS on its own separate drive or does it not really matter?
Like if games are on the same one
doesn't matter
personally I put all apps/os on one drive and data on another (physical drive). that way I can just move the data drive when I build a new pc
Gotcha. Thank you
i actually pull all my data onto a portable hdd then transfer it to new build pc once completed. im giving my old pc 2 my mom once i build a new pc
that works too! I have a portable HDD as well that I use to back up my data drive
i put my games on the m2 drive or whatever is faster. though my 2d side scrollers on my hdd since they dont take much 2 run
I have most of my data on my D or E drive, and some data on the C drive that I just back up and move
nice. but i really dont have that option
I have 10TB total at the moment. I usually keep games off the C drive unless I know I will go back to them often
bet most games people have downloaded they dont even launch
is there a way to buy an xbox elite 2 controller without all the accessories for less than the one with the carrying case and such? i already have a controller and accessories but the controller has multiple problems and i think i need to get a new one.
Is i5 10400f with rx 6600xt will give better performance and i can play any game at 1080p high to ultra settings???
probably u may need to adjust to hit 60fps in intensive games like cyberpunk
yeah thats fine also i mean pcle 3 is good as 10400f support pcle 3
dont support pcle 4
will i still get same performance and fps no freezes or other fps issues
pcie slot for gpu? if so then no since 6600xt run at pci 4x8. there will be no preformance issue with it. but if u upgrade gpu to lets say a 6900xt then thats another story need to replace motherboard and ram
dm
no
not entirely true. There may be a small bottleneck running a GPU like the 6900 XT at PCIe 3.0 but it isn't something to rip out nearly a whole system for
at times I believe some have even said none of AMD's current GPUs are powerful enough to saturate the 3.0 x16 data let alone 4.0 x16 and yet we now have motherboards that support 5.0 x16 with GPUs likely not that far behind
My 10900K doesn’t bottleneck my 3080 on PCIE3. I’ve seen people using 4090 on the 10900 and still getting good usage out of it on PCIE3.
I think by the time PCIE3 becomes obsolete so will that era of CPUs. PCIE2 is still fine now at least with entry level/midrange GPUs.
Who plays forza horizon 5 here
If you're looking for someone to play with, please go to #587074461770186765

what in the
no begging

is there a way to buy an xbox elite 2 controller without all the accessories for less than the one with the carrying case and such? i already have a controller and accessories but the controller has multiple problems and i think i need to get a new one.
does the 5600 and 5700x have the same power draw so i could use the fs140 v3 black cpu cooler
@novel lavaRazer Wolverine controller is on sale for $89.99 on amazon RN idk if you like that controller but a lot of people like it over the Elite
thats a great deal
yea i ordered one even though i rarely use controllers 💀
default TDP does appear to be the same (65W) but under certain conditions the 5700X may use a bit more power since it has 8 cores compared to the 5600's 6 cores though those conditions are unlikely to be seen most of the time while gaming, more of a synthetic CPU benchmark thing
that is a good deal but that controller is wired, and i'm hoping to continue using a wireless controller. i can't actually see many wireless options for pc gaming except from MS and sony
True i forgot it was only wired.
it's just lame that i gotta pay like $170 for a controller with a bunch of accessories when i don't want the accessories. i guess i can keep the old controller and accessories as a backup...
why is a wireless controller that important for PC though
rip
i have my gaming pc hooked up to my big screen tv and i play on my couch
not all of us have that luxury or space so wired controllers are good for that
I thought people only did that with consoles tbh
Well that’s the benefit of PC. You use it how you please.
jk bruh
Is eBay a good place to buy used gpus
not a bruh. no begging even as a "joke"
seriously fine
Can be if you are careful
be sure to read seller reviews carefully. there are knock-off parts from overseas, you want to avoid those. my friend got suckered into one of those. they say you can return it but it's expensive to and also a hassle
good thing eBay has somewhat good protection
Can i transfer my forza horizon 5 progress to another account?
Same answer you got in #233805809346150400, no
That would be weird if you could have the same progress on another account lol
All my parts for pc will arrive over next week. I will order new gpu in a few weeks. Can i use my old rx560 gpu until i get a 6800xt? Once i get new gpu do i need to use ddu or can i just install the amd driver for 6800xt
Dont use bluetooth
Probably don’t need to use DDU as it’s just going to use the same driver version anyway but you can if you want to do a clean wipe.
Yeah
I DDU any time I get a new GPU just to ensure that GPU is fully supported, compatible and doesn't run into any issues from an old GPU entries - is really the only time I use DDU
I usually do that if I'm changing from AMD to Nvidia or vice versa
I just do that overall to ensure the best results or at least what I'd hope ensures that. Step by step. DDU drivers of current GPU, shutdown PC and power off completely (from power supply and wall), uninstall old GPU from motherboard and install new GPU, power back on, boot up and install latest drivers and hey presto few minutes at most and back to gaming hopefully with higher framerates and a toastier room in the winter!
No
Hey guys just curious but is there a fix to run msi afterburner while playing red dead redemption 2. The game was running perfectly through chapter 1 with it on but when I got to chapter 2 it just crashes as soon as it tries loading in the game
Msi is what I use to keep an eye on temps and fps but can only play the game with it off
I don't do any overclocking also and apparently the game doesn't support overclocked cards. I just use afterburner to keep an eye on temps or fps
You can see fps and usage with game bar not sure about temps
I have gamebar off to increase fps
I like using msi afterburner
Post your code in #xbox-game-pass and someone will grab it. If you got it from Nitro, Be sure to mention it’s for new subscribers only.
Just saying, it might be an easier solution if afterburner isn’t compatible
I don't really track temps and such, I just play
Fair but I like to track temps as I want to make sure everything runs smoothly
You can turn in the fps counter in steam as well
But msi afterburner has everything
Temps, fps counter, can check pretty much anything with it
I trust that my PC has good temps and FPS I have enabled in most games because that I actually look at
Well in summer my room can get very hot as I don't have an aircon
So once it reaches 40+ degrees outside, it'll be similar inside also
Afterburner doesn’t always work well with every game. It can be hit or miss
True which sucks
Pretty much every game in my library can run with msi on though
And red dead redemption was literally working throughout chapter 1
With no crashes but when I got to horseshoe overlook that's when it crashed
And wouldn't load the game after that
I've only come across two games where MSI Afterburner didn't work. Destiny 2 and Forza Horizon 4
Some of the games with anti cheat systems don’t like it either
I've never had issues with anti cheat
Every game runs fine except for destiny 2 which is the only exception
And it doesn't make any sense that red dead was working perfectly for the start of the game though with msi on
I don’t see any performance difference using game bar. It should be ok to use for red dead if you have no other option
both Nvidia and AMD have alternatives to MSI Afterburner that can report all the same metrics though idk if Nvidia's allows any CPU monitoring. AMD Software does allow for some CPU monitoring but it has to be a Zen 3 CPU or newer I think and I have no clue if Intel have any metrics overlay with their GPUs that also supports CPU monitoring on their end
Nvidia doesn't have cpu temps though
It has cpu usage
Nvidia only shows gpu temps
anyone know how to fix fh5 from syncing for ever
yea AMD not only gives you regular temps it also has a sperate reading for the very center of the chip so you can see how hot the hottest spot on the GPU is
Kind of how light up shoes make you faster.
I see
lol 😄 that is completely false. Makes it that you have a lightshow in your room (or where ever you happen you put your gaming PC) and to some while gaming that can be distracting so you'd either want to find a way to set RGB to a static colour or switch it off entirely, which would be a waste of the extra money likely spent on RGB components if it isn't being put to use
False. I put rgb in my room and now my body has 60% more cooling performance.
Rgb = radical gaming booster
The more lights you have in the case the higher your FPS will be naturally 🤣
m
Obviously
I really miss 1440p gaming. Been gaming at 4K for around 5-6 months and thought it was endgame stuff 😄 but upon changing the resolution in two games I play right now (Battlefield 2042 and FH5) I go from 60-80 FPS at 4K to 120-140 FPS at 1440p. I think I might take a Series S approach to things going forward. 4K for media and 1440p for gaming
do a athlon 3000g work with gtx 750 ti
If you have a free PCIE slot it should be fine
Yes it's work with eGPU
whats that
eGPU?
The slot you put the GPU in
i wanna build a good 1080p rig, should i get a 1070 ti (175 eur) 1080 (200 eur) 1080 ti (250 eur).
well not build, im just popping a gpu into a used pc.
Do feel free to mention the other parts of that PC
I'd say 1080 ti. Better preformance and the 11gb of ram over the 8gb of the 1080 would hold you out longer for the future.
i7 11700k, 16gb ddr4 3200mhz, 512 m.2 and 1tb HDD
600$
most other pcs have a 2nd or 4th gen cpu...
around that price
i forgot to say how much ram.
well again i am upgrading in like 1.5 years.
but i do wanna play rdr2 and such at above 60 fps max settings
Just looked it up. The 1080ti with a 11700k (funny your exact cpu) will average 60 on ultra in 1080p on rdr2.
See if you can get a 2060 for a similar price to the 1080. It will be better these days with DLSS
Nah i cant
They overpriced
And again i plan to upgrade in like 1.5 years
Are the RDNA1 or RDNA2 cards expensive where you are?
Ok just saying incase you can get something better. Pascal is getting on a bit now.
What
They are 6 years old and not getting much driver level optimisations anymore
Okay but
I am gonna upgrade to a 3080/3090
So i dont mind using something outdated for a bit
Its still gonna be a great upgrade from my laptop
I just bought my pc case for my first pc
Depends where you live and the currency you are using
Its a decent budget is US dollars
My first build is gonna be just under 3k US so I'm definitely not budget. Haha cries
I'd consider anything under 1k a 'budget' thing, if you have to buy peripherals.
More is easily doable.
It wont be best of the best of the best.. but it will be a solid mid tier rig. :)
Definitely. Prices are real good rn and will probably be a lil better once the recession fully hits.
I would say to take time to buy parts, if you can. Make sure to know what you are getting and when its the good price
Little bit at a time when the prices are good
I just bought my case for 35 off so I'm happy
Nice!
I'm very excited to build my first. Now I just need to get the rest little by little.
Yea today I should be setting up my 3060. I have it in my room, monitor will go there as well.
eur
yeah its a solid mid tier rig.
the i7 is what i wanted
a newer i7*.
hell good upgrade.
i cant wait to play games i played before but never could replay on my goofy laptop
vampyr,subnautica,gta 5, what more
and try new games
ah god i keep forgetting about the rules here. strike 2...
what case was it?
Fractal Torrent Compact rgb. Got it for 160. Usually 190-200.
what gpu.
heh nice, I might look at getting myself the Fractal Design Torrent with no window
Imma see what the 7900xtx has to offer. Gonna wait for all the models to come out before I make a choice. Wanna see if the 3 8 pin makes a difference over the 2 pin reference.
all right nice.
ill probably get a 30 series as an upgrade to the 1080 ti.
and use that untill maybe the 9000 amd series
Nice. I wanted a somewhat small case that's great with airflow. Torrent c seemed like a spot on choice.
oh yeah i cant use that hp omen case with a 3080/3090 🗿
ill probs go for a corsair 4000d
less than 2 weeks to go now until AMD's Radeon RX 7900 series launch!
i wont go with nvidia after the upgrade.
cuz the price to performance isnt that good, im just lucky 3080's/3090's are cheaper used than amd counterparts
I always thought it was the other way around
eh amd cards are less available
so they're more expensive on the second hand market.
but retail yeah.
amd is cheaper than nvidia in the retail market
I'd say anything above a 3080 Ti isn't really worth it with Nvidia and that is including their newest cards, the 4080 and 4090. 3080 Ti offers 3090 tier performance but cheaper (and lacking half of the VRAM) kind of a blast to the past where the 1080 Ti was once the best GPU that would give all the performance you'd possibly want without paying then Titan prices
I even got a new mouse & keyboard with the 3060
3090 is like… too much $
My 3060 was $921.18 with Black Friday. $300 was saved.
pricing has fallen drastically for the RTX 30 series in recent months
Oh has it?
most GPUs should be back to near MSRP or lower these days
looks like it, even without cyber monday pricing from this retailer that seems close to the MSRP of a 3060 and I believe nvidia are adding stock of 3060 with GDDR6X memory (the same memory that's on 3070 Ti and above cards)
I have a 3070 and its just fine.
But i got a real big case so i would have an easier time putting things in lol
case and power supply are the only components to have lasted as far back as when I first built my PC but that may all be about to change. Targeting a 7900 XTX and honestly I don't mind too much if it is one of the MBA (made by AMD) or AIB cards but after that I may well need a new power supply and it got me thinking of a new case too while I'm at it, one with at least one USB C port would be nice, if I don't go for the Fractal Design Torrent like I have planned to
The only 6800xt i could find that has the amd bundle in the states is a backorder of phantom gaming. Today is last day for the 20 usd rebate
Let's gooooooooo
4k 100-120hz gaming ftw
Cute
I'm guessing you're a 1440/1080 240hz kinda soul
Well I mean soon we'll have 500 hz monitors.
My gpu is trash
how bad
I have a Gtx 1650 on life support
I stutter very bad on lower titles it might be my single channel ram idk
im even worse rx 560 2gb. currently building a new pc from scratch not getting 6800xt until after amd drops the 7900xt/xtx in a few weeks
2 weeks
tbf I do wonder what 360Hz is like and if I'd notice any difference between it and 240Hz. Not that it matters since I wouldn't see that sort of framerate even at 1080p or 1440p in titles outside of competitive esports games but I was always told when I had a 1080p monitor that I should have upgraded to 1440p, then more recently that 1440p wasn't standard or something along those lines and that content is made for 1080p and 4K with no in between so switched to 4K, was more of a jump to 4K really. I should have waited for OLED to get good on a reasonably sized 4K monitor with a high refresh rate. LG have at least one in the works I'm aware of 4K 240Hz but it is only 27 inch (technically 26.5 inch) and just due to the screen size alone it misses out on being something I'd purchase, not sure I could drop down to 27 inch when using a 32 inch monitor that needs 150% scaling as is and 100% scaling really is too small. Only way I'd be getting that is on a display that is around 46 inch at 4K since that meets the 96 PPI for 100% (native) scaling
I wouldn't want to spoil myself at super high refresh-rates, not sure if I would be able to go back 😅
I'm already there and feel I can't turn back so it is either 4K 240Hz or higher and as of December 13th with the launch of the 7900 series from AMD that supports Displayport 2.1 it is going to open the doors to monitors with even higher refresh rates at 4K and even 8K165Hz. Craziest thing is I'm not even sure AMD are using the full 80Gbps version of DP 2.1 so there is room to go even further still. Saying that though, GPUs have some way still to go before high refresh rate (120Hz+) 4K gaming becomes the new norm (think what 1080p high refresh rate used to be)
I'm pretty simple minded in terms of refresh rates. 60FPS stable is enough for me and I don't want to spoil myself there but I'm sure 240hz and higher is very nice.
navigating the desktop 240Hz is definitely nice. Small test I do is moving the mouse cursor in a circle really fast I see very few gaps compared to 60Hz but 120Hz is pretty close, at least to my eyes and while I may not reach that in frame rate there is somewhat of a smoothness to it in games that isn't there if I was to set my monitor to 120Hz or 60Hz though that may just be the Freesync eliminating the screen tearing
I also have 120hz on my Macbook and iPad as well. Feels nice just scrolling around definitely
I have a 120 hertz mode on my s21 but it drains battery
1080p is still fine in my opinion
After i got my pc probally gonna save up for a 1440p monitor but i dont really need it
i play on 1080p as well
while I am using a 4K monitor I drop the in game resolution to 1440p or where possible make use of FSR. Kind of wish all games showed the the internal resolution was while setting FSR though just from knowledge (with the exception of some devs maybe wanting to be awkward) FSR quality mode should be internal 1440p at 4K
Agreed. People who have the money 2 afford a 4k monitor and a 4k gaming setup i would do 4k all the way unless im playing on shooters then 1440p144hz
4k is still niche but is expanding. unless you have hardware to support it, 1440p is the most ppl should go for
4k gaming 4 pc players is a lot better 4 the cost now than it was 2 years ago
Ahaha
hi
I plan to use a 4k tv as a monitor. Just prefer the immersion over sitting 2-3 feet from a smaller screen.
Great my PC has run into issues, ping and tree (probably more) are apparently not a working syntax anymore lol
apparently I had overwritten the path to system32\cmd.exe lol
Wait now my java doesn’t seem to work now, Time to look into a fix, when I’m willing to 😆
delete windows folder then restart
Totally, not like I know what would happen

Nvidia is just embarrassing recently
I also got a pc but bruh, i really cannot aim at all
But maybe its also me trying to jump in valorant right away
I a basic pc for gaming kinda runs fortnite, valorant&csgo cool but bcuz no graphics card some games cant be played or some graphics settings on games
cant be used
Its a amd ryzen cpu with vega graphics (idk if i said it correctly)
That's something to start with atleast
Well basic gaming is alright runs 75 fps (vsync) or 60 fps on most games that ive played
do 4k 360 hz
thank me later
hello. ive noticed while playing using an xbox wireless controller connected with Bluetooth to PC i dont get a battery low warning or anything. The controller just switches off mid game. Is there a setting I can change or does it not work like the xbox does due to Bluetooth ?
That's what I plan to do lol
not a setting
but a pretty good solution
connect it via wire
🤨
I believe they meant USB cable
https://hothardware.com/news/geforce-rtx-4090-bios-update-play-need-speed-unbound this is just comical... a $1700 GPU and Nvidia A. have a potential fire hazard on their hands and B. it seemingly can't play certain games without a vBIOS update that if I'm not mistaken doing so will void warranty? oh and C. it is $1700...
Thanks nvidia
i know. and they are not wrong. but im old and find wireless stuff amazing.✌️ and dont miss that swinging of the controller cable movement i needed to use growing up with cables.
Understandable
Now I want them to fix minecraft bug with nvidia GPU
so the fire hazard thing is user-error
not making sure the cable is actually entirely plugged in
GamersNexus did a vid breaking it down
yeah saw that video I think
Igor's Lab corroborated
Wasn't it both user error and something else possibly? don't remember entirely what was said
wait no they stated that was not confirmed right?
So question. Where does amd sell they're reference cards? Like other than their own site?
the xbox app is being weird
i restarted it
i tried a fresh install
but whatever is happening
clicking the sign in button or anything account related does absolutly nothing
it has my Microsoft account
it has my store acount
it even has my game pass subscription info
it refuses to recognize my pc
please help
AMD sell their reference designs on their store and retailers will have MBA cards that are reference design but usually come with the branding of one of the AIB partners so for instance you will see something like this on a retailer page “AMD RX 7900 XTX 24GB GIGABYTE MBA/Reference design”
Might go for a saphire card if I can lol
Sapphire do pretty nice designs
Can anyone recommend me some games from the xbox 360 era that are on steam? There were a lot of good games back then that I was never able to experience. So far I'm thinking Far Cry 3 and Dishonored. (I have played Skyrim)
Halo MCC, Bioshock games, Borderlands 1 and 2, Left 4 dead 2, Portal 2, GTA4, Mass effect trilogy, Dragon age 1 and 2, Batman Arkham series, Bayonetta, Battlefield 3…. To name a few
All absolute bangers
Who has game pass
Me
I aswell
Hi, I have xbox gamepass ultimate on my pc. But when I launch microsoft flight simulator it says "Insert disk" but I have it online. Does anybody know how to fix it?
Downloaded ?
Just get the regular pass for PC
Sad that Aliens fireteam is leaving soon 😦
Holy shot thats too true
Might actually buy it i still have stuff to do
i have asus rog strix g15
i mean
legitimately speaking, i havent heard a lot of negatives about it
I understand
have u found any negatives?
no
how much did u buy it for?
I will probably put new pc together with old gpu next week. Waiting on release of 7900xt/xtx hoping for 6000 series drop in price
Though doubtful
i'll do the same thing, but on the release of the 8k series
ill probs pop a 1080 ti in there and get a steam deck
then get a "last gen" card when the amd 8000/nvidia 5000 series comes out
That wont be till at least 2024. Plus my current rig everything is at least 7 years old
I really cant wait that long. I cant run much on a rx560 2gb
8k monitors and tvs is still way too expensive for the average person. Plus nothing currently is shot in 8k not netflix. Plus u need at least 40 series/7000 series to run pc at 8k @tired light
I cant do 1080p. I already have 4k 144hz monitor
...i was talking about myself
Yeah i know. I havent game at 1080p since 2020.
Ah mb theb
What?
Ah my bad then.
After i switch 2 series x in 2020 i havent gone back to 1080p. Plus pc build will match or exceed what i have on console
whats the point of having a console and a PC
Exclusives, play in different rooms, ease of use etc..
Anybody knows what the ISP speeds needed to utilize Xbox cloud gaming platform?
I feel that. Love my 4k/1440p after getting a series x so I don't think I'd be able to go down once I build a pc.
I couldnt afford a 4k rig in 2020
i like as many frames as i can possibly get so i always do lowest settings
For shooters i could see that but im a guy who love his open world games. I cant go low in those games
true
If i could het 4k60 in those type of games im happy
I want my games to run smooth and look good. Max everything if I can and play at 4k or 1440p depending on how hard it is to hit atleast 100-120 fps
damn i dont think i haver ever played a game with max settings
U need something like 40 series or 7000 series card for 4k120 or something along those lines maybe 3090 or 6950xt maybe
Hense why I aim for my first pc to have a 7900xtx.
If I'm going to notice an upgrade from console to pc. I gotta pay to notice it..... unfortunately
Open world games i will be happy at 4k60 i just cant justify spending 1k on a gpu rn.
Understandable
new AMD cards look great too bad most of the becnhmarks they showed were with FSR
They showed benchmarks without fsr like a week after the show
oh
I think warzone 2 gets like 139 fps in 4k on the xtx
Yeah hold on let me find those other numbers
72 fps in 4k no raytracing in cyberpunk
98 in god of war
109 assassin's creed Valhalla
93 red dead 2
138 re village with raytracing
thats not great for them advertising high framerates at 4k gaming
I mean cyberpunk is understandable given well it's cyberpunk. Rest seem alright
i wanna do ma but retain a very high fps
so ill buy a pc,then a deck then a new gpu in the span of 2 or so years
I hate playing on low settings. Would rather max out what I can at 60 fps
i feel input lag at 60 maybe its in my head
Depends what you are used to I suppose.
i mainly cap at 144
Why cant we pay with Paysafe?
When your Game Pass runs out, you can no longer play the games unless you buy them or sub to Game Pass again.
No
That's why I said 'You can no longer play them'
A lot of games can be played offline, but only while you're subscribed to Game Pass. Once that runs out, you lose access to the games. That's how subscriptions work.
You can look at https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass/games

No official confirmation on that yet. They're kinda dancing around it.
