If you buy EA Play by itself, you will get access to the game, yes, but without a subscription to Game Pass Core, you will not be use able to use the multiplayer features. Game Pass Ultimate comes with both Game Pass Core and EA Play (among other goodies), so if you're looking for the whole package, I'd recommend that instead.
