They changed how conversion works when Game Pass Core was announced.

Well, I activated a 12 month xbox live code and only got 4 months game pass ultimate. Reached out to xbox support and they confirmed it is only a 3:2 conversion rate on new subscriptions. They had to cancel the ultimate subscription manually for me (replaced with just the 12 months XBL) and then I could upgrade to ultimate and get 8 months.

And this was last month so unless I see some actual confirmation rather than word of mouth, I’m inclined to believe that the rates are different.

When you say "buy Starfield on game pass" do you mean purchase it, or just download it through your game pass subscription?

If you mean just download it, then no, you don't own it once your subscription ends, but you would own the upgrade pack (which includes the first DLC when that comes out) and you could purchase the base game at a later point to utilize the already owned DLC.

If you mean actually purchasing and paying money for the base game of Starfield in addition to the $35 upgrade, then yes, you would own Starfield forever.

In both cases, you would be able to play in about 2.5 hours

I have purchased the game pass but im struggling with something, before I got the gamepass, I had Sea of Thieves bought and installed from Steam but I was using the same account my Xbox user has obviously and I think that caused this issue. See, now I'm trying to play SoT with my brother, I bought the gamepass onto my account but he has access to the game on his since we're all on the same xbox. Now when i try to log into SoT from my PC it doesn't let my brother boot up the game because I'm already on it from a different device. How do I fix this issue? I basically bought 2 copies at this point (one from steam, and the other one that came with the gamepass)

Your computer specs don't matter for XCloud, because it's using a data center with XBox Series X consoles and just streaming the information to you. XCloud is basically Netflix, but for gaming. Even a potato PC can run it, as long as your internet service can handle it.

In other news, I love when people make fools of themselves and say Game Pass is bad for gaming.

Sea of Stars has sold over 500, 000 copies since being on Game Pass, and it's not the only Game Pass game with such high numbers either. You're just deluding yourself if you think the service is a bad thing. LOL
