So if you let your game pass completely run out, and then you buy a bunch of live gold and then after adding the live gold to your account you buy a month of game pass, it might convert 1:1 again.

it is only gauranteed to work the very first time you do it, but many people online have had the 1:1 conversion work multiple times.

BUT even if it doesn't convert 1:1 you will not lose actual money. Because the other conversion (for example if you currently have game pass, and someone gives you a live gold gift card for your birthday) is a dollar-value based conversion. Something like "1 month of gold equals 3 weeks of game pass"... the conversion is listed on the game pass website)

Trial codes (like what you can get for discord) require a credit card for recurring billing so the pass doesn't expire

If you have a gift card though, you can just buy some game pass time with the gift card, no credit card needed and it will just expire when you run out of money

If the codes was obtained with a stolen credit card, and then you redeem the code, your account gets marked as suspicious that can lead to a ban. Basically the one that stole and sold doesn’t get the repercussion, the one that use the code does.
