Unless your internet is super bad, it's usually quicker to download the games from the store rather than install from the disc, because in most cases you need to wait for the slow disc install and then wait for it to download all of the extra content that was patched in after the disc was produced.

At least on Xbox it is. I've found some PS5 games to be reasonably playable at the ready to start point.

Saros can be started about halfway through the download. I loaded it up out of curiosity to see how little was available, but I was able to start the game and keep going and I didn't reach a point where I needed to stop before the download finished.

I only needed to quit out after that for it to fully install the extra content it had downloaded after the ready to start point which took a minute or two.

I think with Just Cause 3 they did a small island you could play around on for a bit while it downloaded

I was doing one of the challenges, trying to get the gold medal.

The gold medal time was 12 seconds.

If I failed, I'd restart the challenge, but it did a full load which took 9 MINUTES!

But they are working on AMD for FSR Diamond and integrating it into the GDK so far more game's will support if. It's definitely not that tho, those people speciality isn't ML driven neural rendering.
They deal with AI softwares and chatbots and features like Copilot+
And they work on Xbox, from Microsoft AI division moved to Xbox.

GPU is not good for those tasks, GPU is extremely inefficient for Persistent AI tasks and system AI tasks.
You can see no copilot+ PC with Rtx 5090 exists. Because GPU is fundamentally incapable of it, but NPUs exist for it
Also, it will limit neural rendering capabilities of the GPU and take their performance.
Thats why NPU was created.
An NPU on 6watt can do far more works here than GPU AI cores, Per bandwidth and TOPS it's far superior in efficiency and capability.
