I don't believe in things being "hard." To me, anyone can do anything. Some people just need to put in a little bit more work to do it. It's just long and it's a lot of information. The math is long, yes, but it's more tedious than hard usually. mechanical can be rough because you have to learn all the different parts of engineering, not just one. I've done a lot of kinds of math, but ended with the higher levels of calculus and differential equations

Labs aren't that bad. The only labs I really had were for physics, chemistry, and fluids

Yeah, I'm thinking about going into EE once I graduate HS. The thing is though is that I'm more of a hands-on person and was debating if I should still go for EE or do something else. I also heard about how EE is one of the hardest majors which definitely scared me.

Personally I wouldn't listen to anyone that says something is "hard" because it might be for them. That doesn't mean that it will be for you. I found two classes that apparently most people find "hard" to be really easy. Also EE can be difficult because you can't see what's happening, and it can be hard for some people to build an intuition or visualize what's happening

I would recommend an Uno R3 to start with. They are harder to break with voltage issues on the pins, and IMO best suited for new users.

Also, beware of 9V batteries. Their capacity is very poor due to stacking a bunch of tiny cells to get to the 9V. They also, for the same reason, have a high internal resistance and can not draw much current. For your first projects, it will be fine. Just remember that there will be better options for stuff like motors, and other high current things.
