That guy, thankfully wasn't, but 99.9% of the time, that's been my experience.

I won once and I wanted to do the Light Ending cuz I wanted Double Candle, but I ended up accidentally killing Owl in Reprieve, which locks you into Dark Ending. And now I'm lucky to even hit Depth 12.
