I ended up passing a thick HDMI cable all the way from my PC to my TV.
But I couldn't find a decent HDMI switch that would let me change between displaying on my computer display and my TV, without significant image quality loss.

Heh, one of the more recent changes in Star Wars Outlaws precisely makes stormtroopers much more accurate (but does decrease the damage per hit a bit). They are a little bit more dangerous (but still just as fragile with their helmets 😅)

Very confused with MSI's strategy for their handhelds.
So they released the MSI Claw, using an Intel SoC. It... failed to match expectations, so they cut the price drastically within a month and announced already a new model 2 months after release.

Except that new model is only launching later this month, right after all the other companies announce their new models.

It's like MSI has decided to take every single step to ensure their handhelds don't sell

If you want to get a Final Fantasy game for your son, I would recommend Final Fantasy IX. Yes, it's much older, but it really holds up well. The game has a lot of charm, interesting characters, a beatiful story...

It depends on what games you're going to be playing.
If you want to play a 2D sprites game, then yes, the Steam Deck can run at much, MUCH lower TDP while keeping the gameplay feeling smooth.
But the ROG Ally X can also play some smaller indie games and still last for 8 hours.

You could play something like Fallout 3 with mods on the ROG Ally X at very low TDP and still get 4-5 hours of gameplay.

Battery life is sure to be one of the key things they will be addressing with the new models. AMD is putting a lot of effort into making FSR4 very focused on saving battery for example.

I think 2025 is the year in which PC handhelds will really mature.
Right now there's been a lot of different devices from different manufacturers, but there were a lot of hits and misses.
Now things are starting to pick up the pace. We'll see the new Z2 chips from AMD. Intel has achieved a really powerful and efficient mobile chip for handhelds. And Nvidia is about to release their ARM-based chips, possibly starting with the Switch 2.
