Windows on the handhelds isn't great to begin with, but it was more of a pain on the Steam Deck.

If you're only interested in Steam games then the Deck is great, but if you need Windows - whether that be for running PC Game Pass games or other Windows programs - then you should get either an Ally or a LeGo

We've had RTX 30 and 40 series on the Nvidia side since then and on AMD's side since the mentioned Vega 56 we've had RX 5000, 6000 and 7000. None of the lower end cards from any of these generations offering better value for performance on a 2060? Oh and Vega GPUs are no longer actively supported by AMD. They have a separate driver branch though

biggest thing I disliked about the RTX 20 series back when it launched was the $999 2080 Ti announcement. Was looking forward to upgrading from the 1080 Ti I had around that time but for the 2080 Ti to cost (at least) $300 more than what the 1080 Ti did when it launched but that excitement was dashed very quickly

older games on newer hardware is something I try to avoid. Mostly anything from pre Ryzen as I'm not sure those games will know what a CPU with chiplets is and how to even properly utilize it

yep and I can't imagine it will be too long before Nvidia slap their legacy status on it (that will be a sad day for PC gamers, especially those that got to experience the 1080 Ti) and whatever remains of the non-RTX generation GPUs. AMD already effectively killed off both Polaris and Vega (including APUs with Vega graphics that were still being sold very recently) meaning the only GPUs they actively support and update for are RX 5000, 6000 and 7000 - All RDNA GPUs

nice, I upgraded or whatever you would call going from a 1080 Ti to a 5700 XT. Was my first AMD GPU and quite liked it. Main reason I went for it was DSC support seeing as the 1080 Ti lacked that feature or I probably would have had the 1080 Ti a bit longer before upgrading properly to a 6800 XT (the GPU that followed from my 5700 XT)
