When we get closer to a release and we're locking things down (just like when a game gets close to release), I'm the person who approves all platform changes, makes the decision on risk vs reward, etc, if we are taking the change or not, if the dev needs to make changes to what they are submitting, etc.

pretty sure LG has 12 bit support on their OLED TVs but actually being able to use it without having to drop to 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 isn't worth it. Also, not sure if I'm right in saying this but SDR is usually limited to 8 bit color depth while HDR is 10-12 bit so setting it to 10 bit might not be ideal for all content (again, I may be wrong here)

even calibrating I've found out can be a hassle. Thought I'd get into monitor calibrating, went out of my way to get what I thought was one of the best tools for it (Calibrite Display Plus HL) and upon trying it and reading up more I've been left wondering why I bothered. Windows currently seems to have some limitations from sRGB and 8 bit only with use of an ICC profile created from a software calibration. Battlefield 2042 feels like a solid example of what I said above, because the marketing before the game came out as well as the description for the premium stuff really gave off the impression that you'd be granted the content immediately when said content came out, instead of having to work through a battlepass to get it.

It's like...all the things that were promised in the premium edition were free battlepass items (so why pay extra...?), but the thing about it is that you had to do the extra effort to unlock them instead of getting them day one (when the passes came out, I don't mean day one of the game launching). It made buying the premium edition feel very weird.

Yeah the skins being so limited kinda sucks. You can only put the Mars skin on a suit, and it's the Constellation one.

Yeah with me wanting 'all the things' honestly those ones kinda suck. Because my instinct is to buy them all but if they're available through regular play... pffffft. Some of the games I play offer 'time saver' DLC which is like 'free XP' or whatever. Fortunately they're 'buy one time' rather than MTX you can just buy forever, but it's still very pointless.
The other thing I won't buy is costume packs that have absolutely no effect and cost a big chunk o' change each.
