If I am being honest Once you realize how bad it is using the menus to do everything it gets really monotonous. *and I honestly question if there is overall more content and detail in this vs a fallout or Elder Scrolls. upgrading every other generation (I have a 13, and ordered a 15) is reasonable for a power user.
upgrading ever slower than that is perfectly reasonable for like 80% of the population

hope you have good situational awareness because they give you a map for nothing (it should be available as a side quest to stand at the doc and offer city maps to peoplle) several tens of hours in i found out theres a gun shop on alpha. Crafting blows(im holding all these materials cause i know ill need them but ill need a months real world time to level up and unlock the capability to use them) graciously they gave us space for 7 alien peices, but dont worry there are perks that let you carry more it just takes one earth year extra for each one you want.

Only last night did I even look at the equipment upgrading / building system.
I have only placed a single outpost beacon with a single item at hte outpost to get that quest to go away. There is almost an entire game purely around the outpost construction / automation.
I haven't started smuggling, or doing serious research or, or, or....

like there are multiple subgames that I haven't even looked at in this larger game lol

Starfield is just "MEDIOCRE"(trying my best road warrior). it has hints of greatness but in the end is letting me down, hell it might get better, fixes will come, modders will mod, but as of right now this game IMO people shouldn't buy unless they loved skyrim/fallout cuz you are getting exactly that with all their flaws before mods, but they took away that feeling of what it felt like to want to see what is over that next hill or in the next city by hiding it all behind loading screens, basically the best way i can describe it is: you have thousands of boxes all labeled which one do i want to pick and open up and see whats in it? and to get to the boxes in the back i first have to open these boxes first, boxes being locations.

You can send materials from one outpost to the next. So you can basically have a huge production of multiple outposts supplying to the next to produce the material for the next thing etc... it's insane

For me i find it annoying/contradictive because the upgrades/levels are car specific, so you'd have to spend like 6 hours to actually build a race car and a drift car and theres also tuners/photographers/painters who need some of those upgrades to create/publish their work plus if motorsport has the autodrive accessibility stuff horizon 5 has the entire upgrade system is just pointless then

Outposts can be amazing but also a timesinker. Thankfully there isn't any achievements tied to them. I think at least. But if there were you could easily spend 100 hours just to figure out the best planets for production to make a production pipeline.

Same. 8 with some missions feeling closer to a 9 for me. But overall I sometimes get to the "They could have done this for me" kinda thing which feels egoistic on my side. For example mechs are forbidden in the universe but I love mechs and playing one would be great. I am also a sociopath so having a companion who doesn't condone me for breaking the law and killing an innocent person would be nice. If they add all these into the first DLC it would be an instant 9 for me right away.
