For backstory, I'm doing...something with my character that isn't too dissimilar to playing D&D, in the sense that my character doesn't know everything I know. They're starting from square zero. The world is completely new to them on account of losing all their memory.

So I have to figure out how to get my character to learn how to cast spells or do other things. It's been pretty neat.

They've seen (and been the target of) vampires casting their drain spells, but they hold out their hand and nothing happens. Haven't found any books that would give them any insight either.

Certain elements can't be "learned" simply because the game just flat out doesn't allow it (bartering, for example, just doesn't work for any sense of RP so I just kinda...hand-waved the ability to buy/sell stuff and what gold is), but for the most part, I haven't run into very many things that conflict with this 'character knows nothing' playthrough.

Kinda surprising since the game is...very much so designed for meathead warriors in mind.

This is a good idea, and kinda where I've tried to angle it. They heard about the college from Farengar, and they plan on going to it at some point. I just picked up Serana (I have the Serana dialog add-on as well, I'm intending for her to be a permanent follower), and I'm thinking that I'll background-RP my character asking her what being a vampire is all about. It's actually...really crippling (gameplay-wise) for a vampire to not know vampire stuff.

I hand-waved vampire sight away by finding my character in a really dark cave and...it was actually so dark I was having trouble seeing, so I was like, okay, character realizes their eyes starting to unnaturally adjust to the darkness, and there I went. Kind of an unceremonious way to do it, but night vision for applicable races is just a default thing in most fantasy, it's not a toggle.

Not knowing how to seduce people, however, has made it to where I've needed to avoid towns up until recently when my character started using sleeping guards and Stormcloaks as food.

Played through the first 6 hours dead starved and everyone hating me and my character didn't know why because they didn't realize they were a vampire until they started seeing more of them. 💀

Character gave up trying to eat food as it wasn't doing anything, found a tasty neck (kinda had to railroad this part), overdid it and killed the person, but started learning how to hold back so people didn't die.

You know something that I seriously don't understand when it comes to a lot of games?

Why is the club usually the worst weapon?

I mean I can give about 3 different examples off the top of my head why clubs and similar blunt weapons are vastly superior to other weapon types, yet in games they're total garbage.

The easiest example off the top of my head is maces. They (alongside similar fancy metal clubs) were one of the most effective ways to really hurt someone wearing plate armor, since slashing at them with swords obviously doesn't do diddly.

I honestly wouldn't bother unless you don't care about long load times.

Games optimized for the Series X|S are that way for a reason, because they use the hardware of the console (and the expansion card) to do some fancy things. All you'd be doing by running them on the wrong storage is giving yourself a lesser experience.

Not to mention it's like...8 completely random games that allow it for some reason. It's absolutely not at all a big list.

Sometimes I don't even know how Star Trek happened at all. It's such a legendary show for an endless number of reasons (minus Code of Honor...cough) that it's almost unbelievable it even happened.

They were all adapted by this one author called James Blish. They would come out in compilations of like... six or eight episodes in a book.
