The PS dash is generally snappier and quicker to respond than the Xbox dash in my experience, but that quicker response time is wasted by the unnecessary confusion and excessive button presses needed to get to anything.

If I'm having an active conversation, I'm reading chat. I'll be tabbed to a different window for work stuff but can still see Discord. I don't need it to beep at me each time someone replies or when trolls start being idiots and tagging for no reason.
If you were having a conversation with someone in person and they poked you in your arm each time they spoke back to you, would you like it? It's the digital equivalent of that. You can hear what they're saying, you don't need to feel it. I can still see what you say, I don't need to hear it.
When you're making fun of people not wanting to be pinged or complaining about having to turn the ping off, you're making more of a fuss than the people who made a simple and polite request for you to not cause disruption while showing us that you're just an inconsiderate person.
