with a manual you start basically unable to control the car precisely but once you master it you have better control then an automatic. clutch is something that takes more time then you can have lessons for to reach a proficient level at. very few people will master the clutch before their test i dont think. once you are an experienced driver you could quite easily go from automatic to manual but learning to drive in a manual is just a lot more challenging

Back to your question though… it is easy to keep /engine rpm constant/ but that doesn’t mean your velocity will remain constant. Fluctuations in wind, passing cars, elevation, ground cover, all blip your actual speed. A mile or 2 per hour difference is irrelevant

when you get proficient at driving you can shift up to a high gear without worrying about stalling, and if you're cruising at a low RPM you will barely change speed when you touch the accelerator

My biggest regret about the program closing is that most people didn't know it existed or what it was really about, and they really didn't utilize us as much as they did in the past.

Xbox put out a video a few years ago, but most people responded to it with like "Who are these people?" and basically boasting about their gamerscores or how long they've been on Xbox to explain that they were "more deserving" of the award.

But the program had some of the most talented and dedicated people I've ever known. People who formed entire charity organizations, have used video games in the pursuit of the betterment of mental health, or even physical health, advocates for under-represented groups within the gaming community.... Just true MVPs.

There are a lot of amazing people within the Ambassador program, and within the group of Community Champions. I won't take accomplishments away from them. Many of them were probably on their way to being selected as MVPs themselves.

But yes, when a program is open to absolutely anyone to join, and members are selected based on a brief timeline of participation, unfortunately you're bound to get a few bad apples that will ruin the image of the rest of the bunch.

There was a time when even the Ambassador program was invite only. But it was changed to try and make it more inclusive and community driven. But as is the case, when you start giving away free things like badges and games, etc. , you'll always get a large influx of people just trying to get the "shiny thing" that makes them feel special.

Don't get me wrong, I've met a lot of the Xbox Support staff over the years and they worked their butts off. But yeah, getting support from actual community members often meant you were getting help from someone who had already gone through the same issues themselves.

The number of clueless parents I helped set up Xbox consoles the few days before Christmas each year. Hearing how their kids were going to be so excited because they can play the games as soon as they open the presents....

Those were the best Ambassador memories.

My FAVOURITE Xbox memory was from a Fan Expo event in Toronto a few years ago, where my friends and I were streaming on a portable trailer that was turned into a Mixer Streaming Rig.

We were playing some games and this kid comes up and asks if he can take a picture of our rig. I said sure. But then he stepped back to take a picture and said "Hold on. Take the picture up here." and invited him onto the rig. He sat there and played games with us and live streamed on an official Xbox Canada channel while his dad took pictures.

His dad tagged us in the picture on Twitter later that day and said it was his kids favourite day ever.

No one really notices if you turn it off in a 15-50 person meeting. But if you turn it off in a <15 (which is around the limit of the number of live streams that get shown at once), especially a <6 (which is the limit for "large tiles" mode to be showing the big streams) it is 'weird'
