Eventually we realized what was going on.
Somehow, at the point 0,0,0 in any level, there was some invisible object that had appeared after we integrated some of the engine's improvements that came from The Division 2's team.

That object, whenever an NPC walked near it, would give them some sort of damage over time effect. They would eventually walk off... and die.

So another NPC would see the dead body and go investigate. Thus touching it and... getting the damage over time debuff as well, so they died after a while on the floor.

Which would attract another NPC...

And so the Vortex of Doom

Putting measuring tools on the consoles would just lead to more people obsessing over them. Most of the time people don't even notice minor frame drops or hiccups, but they will if they're constantly watching an fps counter.

1. There are millions of potential hardware configurations players may be using, with different performance capabilities
2. PC gamers tend to be more on the enthusiast side of tweaking and modding to get things to look the way they want

We used to have channels for specific games. People didn't use them. We'd have people beg us for a Fortnite channel and stuff, never used them.

On consoles, the hardware is pretty much set. No variation between devices.
But we did get since the One X games having an option of opting for higher quality/resolution or higher framerate, for those that prefer 4K@30fps vs 1440p or 1080@60fps.
More options than that would be superflous in most scenarios and confusing to the end-user.

Personally, not a fan of the system they've chosen to unlock guns and attachments in MW2. As someone who doesn't play with every gun trying to level them all up to diamond, it's incredibly annoying to be forced to play with guns I don't like, just to unlock a gun I might like.

Also, the fact that ghost isn't a perk that is just always on is super frustrating because those spy planes are so easy to get. haha
