Sam Darnold gets his redemption arc completed.

part of what I wrote as a super bowl primer for a friend earlier...

The stars aligned and Darnold goes to Minnesota for a 1 year deal in 2024. And the Kid. Balls. Out. Out of the 15 offensive categories tracked for a QB, Darnold set a career high for 8 of them. It was insane. In 2024, Minnesota goes 14-3, but unfortunately ran into a brick wall, the Los Angeles Rams, in round 1 of the playoffs, and that was the end of Darnold in Minnesota. That season saw Darnold win the "Most Improved Player" award, and he absolutely deserved it. The Vikings by then had committed to going with their #1 draft pick in 2024, QB JJ McCarthy, leaving Darnold to fend for a new home. But now that he had his career best numbers, all he needed was a good coach and an insane receiver core. He found that in Seattle.

This year, Sam's gone on to set another 3 career high stat-lines, and brought the Seahawks to a 14-3 record. They have DOMINATED on both sides of the ball by-and-large, and JSN has been responsible for 43% of ALL yards gained on the entire offense, by the hands of Sam Darnold. For Seahawks there may be retribution due for what happened to the Patriots 10 years ago, but for Sam? His entire career has been question marks. And now he has a chance to place an excalamation mark in front of every single person who questioned him when all he needed was to be part of a system that believed in him from the start.

Wow. This really was one of the best State of Plays

The big highlights for me (announcement wise) was the remake of God of War not just 1, 1 and 2, but the mainline trilogy. Then the John Wick game (not huge on the IP but I liked its direction), followed by Konami announcing MGS4 port and a new Castlevania from the Dead Cell devs

There was a lot of unpack

I wonder if the God of war remakes are the specific games that the Ragnarok team moved onto after Valhalla, rather than a new mainline game.

tbh I'm more looking towards next year. I will only do two pre-orders a year, and they need to be separated by "time". I can only save 50 dollars a month. That's why I did 007: First Light for May and Wolverine for September. GTA VI is too close to Wolverine, so I'm skipping it and waiting on a sale.

I partake in Black Friday sales, usually opting for the best game sale on a game I would like

I don't really care about Nintendo's exclusives. Most of the games I want on my Switch are on other platforms too. Like Pragmata (Which I plan on getting on PS5 at some point), Hades II (which is on Game Pass but I plan on buying it across multiple platforms) and a few others.
