Square showcased FF7 Remake, and they mentioned to keep a lookout for more installments in the FF7 series, which hints to me that Rebirth might get a port over

Main gripes with sf6 and tekken 8 current states are balance
SF6 being lack of content, no Elena trailer, only 1 added costume for base roster and dlc roster. No changes to drive rush, and overall unhappiness with the game’s state.
Mainly from how the game doesn’t feel fun. Tekken 8 is fun for me because I like the battle changes and how funny they are

That's worded really strangely. The nintendo online is free until March, so basically like game pass/gold. After that you need to pay to use party chat and online features. You don't really need to "pay to use a button"

either option. Pre orders are up for Switch 2 editions, and you can take the version from Switch 1 and purchase the upgrade. I prefer the latter. You can buy the Switch 1 edition for a cheaper price in most places

When the original version of the game released, the Steam Deck came out, so a lot of people were playing that around launch day, also God of War 2018. Those were the two biggest games to play on Steam Deck
I'm very divisive on the different platforms I've played on, and depending on where the manufacturer is heading in terms of technology, I like to go for the platforms that could give me an overall bang for my buck
When I walked into Switch, my plans for the console were rapidly changing over time. originally, it was treated as another handheld system to play on. I think it replaced more of my 3DS than it did my Wii U. I still was playing some Wii U games towards the end (mainly Zelda and Minecraft lol)
Around 2019, I was adding games to try and add in a good variety of titles that anyone could enjoy in my household, the problem was I was the only one.
2020 and 2021 my collection on Switch games took a massive break. I bought less games in both years than I did for 2019 alone. I think I was going mainly for indies, and Nintendo titles were pretty limited, as most of my savings were being placed onto getting a PS5, which was meant to complete a trinity of three different platforms (as I owned an XOne since 2018, and wasn't a big fan of it at the time, but I've grown to love Xbox One for different reasons)
I consider Metroid Dread in 2021 to be my "farewell" title on Nintendo titles (despite the fact that I got ToTK in 2023, and was buying different games throughout 2022-2025)
Collecting for Switch took a massive backseat I guess, since after Dread, I was more focused on building my lineup of titles on PS5.
I went into this Direct for Switch 2 with a lot of optimism, but it was all killed off by the 80 dollar price tag on games. There was a main reason I switched from Nintendo to Xbox and PlayStation, and it was the price of games. Sales I think happen more frequently for PS/Xbox, you also got Game Pass and PS Plus, so I felt there's greater value there.

I just also got my PS5 Slim a year ago and haven't catched up yet and just bought a new graphics card, on top of that there's a lot of amazing Xbox Series X games that just came out.
I'll wait for Nintendo Switch 2 to have more games I'm super interested before I go out grab one. The hardware itself is nice and decently priced at least, and Donkey Kong looks fun!
The Nintendo game I'm looking most forward to is Rhythm Paradise (or Rhythm Heaven in NA) but that one will launch on the old Switch next year. Huge fan of that series!

Just like I waited for the PS5 Slim and a nice library of PS5 games to come out, cause I also owned the PS4. All my friends that didn't have the PS4 got it at launch and had a blast.
As soon as my good old day 1 Switch starts failing (hopefully never) or when they have like a new Zelda or something that I don't wanna miss out on I'll definitely go get the 2!

In terms of third party stuff on the games I would want to play on Switch 2, it might be limited to Cyberpunk (though it's not fully a game I have my eyes set on, but something to keep mind of in the future), Elden Ring (definite on this one) Borderlands 4 (50/50), Hades 2 (loved the first game, but this will also come to Switch and other platforms, I assume), Silksong (then again, other platforms, but on Switch might be better to work on finishing sooner), FF7 Remake (why not. It would be a good idea, if it performs very well)

SF6's price also makes sense - selling for 60 dollars, AND it comes WITH DLC. they are also selling a version that doesn't include the Year 1 and Year 2 dlc
btw, I forgot that SF6 was also on PS4, so my claim on seeing more support from Capcom might be debunked. We could see RE4 and the prior RE games on there, but after that, we might not see something like MH Wilds, or the potential RE9

And RE4 not bad either for ps4 just lower texture resolution and some graphics but it ran at 60fps on ps4 pro

because that's how bungie have done it ay lest for now, we have no info on that yet all they showed was a 30 second trailer. There is a reveal event on the 9th September, so maybe they release a single preorder then. Or maybe its going to just be part of edge of fate so you need to own it

They got the DK game in July, then afterward Kirby Air Riders, some Hyrule Warriors game I WONT play, that basketball game with the wheelchair robots
Sony is really the one I'm putting under a magnifying glass, as their events would also highlight large third party stuff (Capcom, Take2 (Mainly Judas), Square Enix, various indies, etc.), and of course SIE for their 2026 slate of games (Saros is one)

should also mention that Capcom could host some event. I dunno if they do that frequently. Even then, I know them to do it during a Playstation event any big announcements

anywhere between May 21st to June 3rd (prior to SGF), usually on a Tues-Thurs are a chance for Sony events, between June 9th-20th for Tues-Thurs for Nintendo are my predictions
Will report if any of these or another event is confirmed (Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, EA, individual game showcase, etc.)
I also do wonder about the 2025 COD. would that get revealed before the showcase, or during it

There's a consistent factor of "We are getting Saros gameplay reveal this year, and it's targeting a release in 2026"
So they need to prep for releases next year, but they are good and defined on this year
