Baldur's Gate 3 has been talked about on a near constant basis since it came out, with tons of things about the game bringing people back to what's good about the industry. Spiderman 2 is just more of Spiderman 1/MM. Same goes for TotK. It's just more BotW.

What few seem to realize with that please wrap up message, the production crew is given a timeline they are to stick to on all shows. The crew were following the orders that most likely Geoff gave the production team from the start-stay on time/speeches get x minutes. And I'm sure that wasn't the first time the message was up there that night.
Honestly I thought the show was way too long for what it was-a reveal/announcement show. Could have given the award recipients a bit more time to speak by removing the releasing in 2025 reveals.

Such a shame the Game Awards spent too much time on announcements and reveals of upcoming games that they forgot to allocate enough time to give the developers their due credit. Perhaps the Game Awards is losing its credibility, going from being like the Oscars or Emmy’s of gaming, to the MTV awards of gaming or something, maybe even the KCA’s.

It was originally a game series that spun off from the Final Fantasy series on Gameboy.
But then it continued growing as its own series. It never achieved the same popularity as Final Fantasy, but it has enough of a cult following to get plenty of games and lots of interest recently in particular.

The same learning curve as if you were playing any other new game you've never played before. The games don't require you to know anything about past titles.
