True. I only use reference if it’s needed for a specific piece. I won’t guess details especially if it’s a real object. PureRef boards are great to use as reference for fantasy concepts. I usually have always drawn traditionally in my sketchbooks from memory or coming up with ideas. I learned recently so many new artists never picked up a graphite pencil and learn fundamentals 🫠

Private auras are a good idea on paper but fail because players will just use janky workarounds instead of communicating. Smolderon's mythic mechanic is a great example of a mechanic that WOULD work well as a private aura if not for macro/threat table janky workaround garbage.

yea when the smolderon nerfs came through I was kinda hoping my group would just do callouts for orbs instead of the macro but we’ve just gone straight to the macro
