I have a question about the on use effect of Scarab Brooch, (assuming the target isn't taking damage so the shield isn't being consumed) is the shield on the target the culmative 15% of all heals during the 30sec window or is 15% of my biggest heal? Like if I heal the target twice, once for 1,000 and once for 2,000. Will the shield be 300 (15% of 2,000) or would it be 450 (15% of 1000 + 2000)

No, pvp as a cat is quiet hard to do most of our core pieces lacking a lot of stamina. So if you want to play deep feral, you are going to need to sacrifice stats for stam.

Yesterday I got the blooddrenched grips (https://classicdb.ch/?item=19869) and thought itd be a good idea to pair these with 'of striking' (https://classicdb.ch/?item=20665) which would drastically increase my damage but it does lower my hit chance from 9% to 7% since i dropped the devilsaur set. and im having trouble finding something to change that would make me get 9% again. Would it be worth it to stay with the devilsaur set or is the 2% hit chance loss worth it until i get something that would get me back on 9%?

Healing gear + downranked HT spam will go a long way... make sure you at least get 15 points in resto to get the 15% mana regen talent. NS is a life saver and worth going deeper for.

@wheat summit That spec covers most of the feral talents you will use, the thing with classic is that the content is stupidly easy so you'd have to be stupid to not be able to heal a 5 man as "full" feral

The HotW/NS missed out on 3 crucial things, LotP, Ferocious bite damage and shred energy reduction. You can heal a raid with these talents but you wont shine on DPS with them

This being, druids of the branch were not mentionned in game, grove yes, but we know that the Cenarion Circle is a fusion of all the druidic organizations (who got a dissolution, they are not a formal organization now, but they can keep their names), talon and claw alike. (something we know thanks from the cenarion circle page from the encyclopedia, and the old quests from BC)

Hey all! How do other healer druids feel about the desire to put 22 Intellect or 30 Spellpower on your weapon instead of +55 Healing but only have one weapon right now? Do you think it's bad raid etiquette to enchant my raid healing weapon with 22 INT or 30 SP? Or should I wait until I get an upgrade and then use my old weapon as the 22 INT 30 SP weapon?

You do realise you can only have one single enchant per piece of gear

So it's either 30sp, 55healing or 22int

And if you put anything other than 55 healing on your mainhand then it's just a waste of materials

If for some reason you're using a 2h weapon for healing there's no reason to put intellect on it as they already have high base intellect on them

But you should be using a one handed mace with 55 healing on it

Also not sure if you know but you can't enchant your offhand

Sadly no, there is no weapon which makes your auto attacks deal any frost dmg or proc chance on hit. This was first implemented in the later expansions. But if im not wrong, as soon the boss i vulenarble (after the fost dmg has been dealt) it should be able to take any kind of dmg, if im not mistaken.

@proven rover If you aren't tanking the boss, you should stack int gear for that fight to help dispel poisons. As well as bring. Crowd pummeler for when the boss gets frozen and needs to take 200 melee hits within 15secs to shatter.

Make sure u get decent addons. If u have played WoW in the past and like using elvui, there is a version for classic. Also make sure u get questie so you know where the quests are. U can also get quest guide addons. I recommend anything that’s not Azeroth auto pilot for classic.

Also, I’m not super sure about Druid, but make sure you find a good leveling talent build. If you’re not sure there’s stuff on WoWhead and maybe icyveins

Up to this point ferals have been in 3rd place behind warriors and rogues but fire mages will likely be passing us now. The theory crafting guides suggest that 20 agility is equal to 1% crit.

@oblique venture Sorry for the late answer! I knew about sims but i wasnt sure if they applied the same for feral. However i did find out using Shedo's feral DPS sim that crit is basically an insane dps boost over AP. Losing around 60 ap and replacing it with 1.6 crit basically increased my estimated DPS output by 150 for a 60s encounter.

Assuming you're ally and don't have access to the green hit trinket, the best pre-raid trinkets you could get for cat would be blackhands breath and the darkmoon card maelstrom trinket. Hoj is better without pummeler but maelstrom is slightly better with it (assuming your boss isn't highly resistant to nature damage like many in AQ).

Honestly at this point in classic I would just go for mark of tyranny over blackhands breath though if you think you will ever offtank

since you will replace it in from raid with things like earthstrike/dft/badge of the swarmguard

@timid skiff A feral Druids damage has nothing to do with their weapons dmg unless you are literally smacking things with it. That is why Manual crowd Pummeler from Gnomer is actually a BiS item for feral Druids. You just have to farm a bunch of them because the ‘use’ only has 3 charges.

All Druids take weapons strictly for the stats on them. The dmg is irrelevant.

I played the shit out of my balance/resto druid (30/0/21) in phase 2 and eventually hit rank 10 and burned out of classic raid logging as resto (I got my pre AQ bis gear very quickly) but never once did I think to spec into the most useless 31 pt talent in the game

its totally useless in pvp, and in pve its brought just for the memes/tryhard parsing casters

Yea that’s a ridiculous take. It’s a game, and we all pay the same to play. Regardless of what class/spec you play. Takes like that are what is wrong with the classic community. I play classic boomkin because it is fun, and yea it’s not meta, top tier caster dps, but a good boomkin is better than a dime a dozen typical classic player. Problem is the dime player thinks they are meta, without the skill, ability or mentality to be meta (wb, full consumes, enchants, optimized rotation, knowledge of fights and other players roles, etc).

Also “oomkin” is a misrepresentation as I don’t have oom issues because I know how to play

the real game for me in classic is wpvp -- it's the only setting where you don't have a 1-button rotation and use the full druid toolkit. ZHC+starfiring some poor warrior youve rooted whos just standing there looking at you, and getting that crit...or more often kiting someone halfway across the map as your dots rot them down

classes in retail have too many defensives and self heals for wpvp to be much fun, but in classic its great

the reality is boomkin dps is very low even with maximal effort. if you like caster dps, then lock or mage will be far more fulfilling if you like dmg. If you are ok with sitting at 350dps in bis gear and potentially sitting below tank dps, then check out the classic discord. the main tricks for boomkin is itemising for spell hit, downranking your starfalls to avoid going oom, and having a spirit weapon to swap into when using innervate on self

I have a special request. How to gear up higher than preraid bis as a casual.
I have 15+ year of experience as a casual on wow 'vanilla/classic', I mean this game.
I know well my class (as gameplay) in all 3 specs and I currently have very nice blues for all 3 specs (heal/feral/balance).
All of them come from 5 men dungeons and UBRS.
So, as I am not able to raid 20 or 40 men. Nor get high PvP rank. I am diving into darker water and I ask my self is there a way to tier better my gear than my current.
Logically I should look for crafts and reputation/quest items (should they exist).
My question is : is there a list, something someone did to help me track everything for druid or should I go for a personal investigation of the game database ?

In fact I tanked ZG with basically just crafted gear like the day after I hit 60 on my Druid

But yeah at this point you need to be realistic about what you will be able to do

There’s gonna be ZG and AQ20 pugs til the end of classic so once you grab bear prebis you can easily tank those

But you won’t be going into Naxx or AQ40 as a bear tank

a cat in "very nice blues" (including wolfshead of course) can easily do MC/BWL/AQ20/ZG

in fact you can weasel your way into a ZG run with questing greens, that's what I did on a few of my toons

my druid was level 58 when I did my first MC on her back in december

I got 4 pieces of cenarion i couldnt even equip yet, but actually beat out some deadbeat lv 60 healers. good times 🙂

It does depend on your server too. Smaller servers right now might have AQ20 pugs, probably not widely available, and ZG idol/mount runs are more normal right now than full clears.

Yeah my server seems to still be going strong, been leveling LW on my toons to prep for TBC and see lots of ZG/AQ20 advertisements

But I don’t even think about playing on servers with fewer than 3000 raiders. Had my ally server die on me and xferred my toons to a ~5k raider sever

I can’t even imagine doing heroics in TBC on a smaller server. Totally unplayable

actually you can tank ZG with a pre raid bear tank no problem even in pugs, as long as there is a 2nd tank ^^
