I think DF Season 1 is the best WoW has been since Legions / BFA last season, i stopped playing since because I reached my goals and the game started to get redundant but that's due to the very nature of MMOs, not because WoW is bad or anything

yeah sure. i think pvp has less attendance than the past which has led to some mmr/cr issues but the balance is some of the best it's been, with weekly updates to help keep things in check and ensure one spec is not pulling way too far ahead of everyone else. It's fun and engaging and difficult in a way that feels rewarding to me.
it is easier than it's ever been to level and gear up alts. You don't need to log in every day to enjoy the game, you can log in as frequently or infrequently as you want and still do things like heroic raiding, keys in the 2500-2800 rating level, plus whatever mog/mount/pet farming activities they've put in for the current patch and past ones. for someone like me who works full time, i still feel i can engage with the game in a meaningful way and accomplish goals i set for myself.

yeah for sure, though 3s has had some problems as a result. they're trying to bring more pvers in with solo queue rbg i feel, which is a positive. like they're making moves and i appreciate it.
and healer attendance in solo is still a problem, but again i think they're making moves to adjust that. like they see the issues and they might not react immediately, but they are seemingly putting effort forth to create balance.

I can elaborate if you want, here's a few things I liked about S1 (Mostly sticked to M+ and Normal Raiding) :
- Unlike SL you don't need to do hours of uninteresting tasks for your character to be optimal
- Balance was not perfect but it was good enough that any class / spec could be picked for all but the highest keys in the game (which didn't bring any additional reward and wouldn't appeal to any bust the most tryhard players in the game so I'm fine with that)
- At least for Guardian spec there were different viable builds and choices you could make with the talent tree depending on the dungeons / key level you ran which did change your gameplay and allowed you to change playstyle if you grew bored of your current one
- Revamping old dungeons is a good idea though I do admit that in S1 at least it was fairly poorly executed (TOJS was fine but Halls were too long and difficult and SBG and CoS were too easy)

- Augmentation Evoker turned out exactly as people feared it would be
- Not enough challenging or engaging solo content (Visions of N'Zoth were awesome in that regard, can't understand why they didn't do something similar every tier, Mage Tower is OK but gets old quick)
- Correlated to the previous point, world content is often too easy, I wish there were ways to get more challenging content in exchange for better rewards (which includes levelling, biggest WoW problem atm imo is that outside of dungeons / raids you're literally never in any danger of dying)

Augmentation is in a weird place with WoW players mentallity, if there is no mindset about min-max too much on everything ,the spec will be fine and balancing wouldnt be ugly like it is now. Anyway, they shouldnt have added it in the first place. But the real problem about this balancing is revamping a class but not every class at once that why 10.0 feel a lot better than other patch.
World content feel less adventurouse and shallow. Lores arent even connected and all over the place and no challenge. They made everything like a chore. Dont know if they even hired a writer or just had AI generate quests. This is why classic is more popular than retail right now.
