It all happens on the same continent.

That's why.

First 3 games happen in Liberl. Next 2 in Crossbell, next 4 in Erebonia, the 10th game wraps up the plot for all the previous games so far and introduces stuff for the next arc.

And I started Kuro, which is the 11th, and happens in Calvard.

(Those are all countries in the same continent, with various geopolitics going on between them)

(For instance, the big powers are the Erebonian Empire and the Republic of Calvard. In-between you had the autonomous province of Crossbell which was basically under the thumb of both powers)

Liberl is to the South of the Empire, and has a border to the East with Calvard.

The Empire tried to attack them, but they got repelled with airships.

It's a pretty rich world.

You get to visit a lot of the towns and cities.

The first Trails game in the series, Trails in the Sky, basically makes you go around the country of Liberl, going from town to town to help people.

And well, won't spoil the second, but let's just say you revisit these places in preparation for something that has occured at the end of the first. 🙂

(Some places also get unlocked that were previously locked in the first, etc.)

Oh, the 11th game that I'm playing + the 12th don't have an official English translation yet.

But they're fan translated by people that love the series.

The Crossbell duology was previously fully fan-translated before it got ported to Steam.

and I also played a fan translation of the spinoff game.

(Which is also coming to Steam soon)
