Haste and Mastery are close, imo Mastery is better in terms of tankness but I prefer haste my self. Test it and see what you like.
On Node maps if your sitting a base and know it's safe to leave, you can play HotW, with Boomkin Affinity. Swap BM for on use. Stealth into team fight, pop cds and convoke then go back to sitting.

having issues with spammable cat form > prowl macro, here's where im at:

yeah run feral aff, help with pressure, watch your mana. the dk being smart with his grip will be huge, if youre in a full kidney getting bursted and he grips the rogue off of you it relieves a lot of pressure

As for getting punished. If you switch back to nf you start at renown 1 again but your covenant structures like transport network should stay intact
