you have two separate ratings. one CR (combat rating) which is what is displayed when you open your pvp tab. and one MMR (Match Making Rating) which is only displayed in the end of game tab. your MMR is regarded in terms of finding opponents. if your opponent has a lower mmr than you, you will lose more CR on defeat and gain less on victory
so if you get 9 but lose 12, you play against lower enemies
the longer you play, the more accurate you mmr will become in finding you equal opponents

-on use heal trinkets (sun king trinket/quantum device)
-renewal if you spec it (though depending on what spec you play -it may not be the move)
-regrowth procs if playing feral
-healthstones if with a lock
-nature's swiftness regrowth if resto
-adaptive swarm if necro
-convoke can sometimes pop off heals on you in bear if you're night fae
-while not casted, there's also a conduit that procs frenzied regen below a certain health threshold automatically, regardless of form

Yeah I have only been pushing rbgs (sitting around 1800 on my SP) so been seeing a ton of convoke, that may be why I am thinking that

I think convoke is an easy fix in pvp. It is too rng and unforgiving potentially. Can just make it less rng by having a limit on starsurges early and could even make it so full moon only happens at the end. Just for pvp atleast

The only big problem I see with convoke is the initial burst rng. If you interrupt something 0.5s after it starts you shouldn't die in that 0.5s
