Some coaching question on balance pvp - I understand the 90+ astral pump phase where we pop incarn and dump eruptions on the target for serious burst. How do you play though when a melee trains you and you are at 50 astral? I feel like CC like cyclone or FF just wastes some GCD on delaying but when they are out, I still dont have the astral power to kill them. How do you guys deal with that?

Depends on the particular melee and if you’re playing charge or not. If so, typhoon + charge creates enough space that most will use a gap closer. Can then mass tangle or bash depending on what your playing and create space again, should buy you time you either use instant casts like dots to work up AP or get an instant strike proc for AP.

If you juke, can just clone them and cast into clone to get to 90 AP and go after they get out

between roar / dash / charge / typhoon / mass tangle or bash / disorient / vortex depending on affy you have a ton of tools to create space

@placid mirage one thing i challenge my IRL homies with that are trying to get better at arena whom had the same complaints as you. Try to use all your CDs before you die. Focus first on defensives and staying alive. If you pop them incorrectly, thats fine. Just try to make sure they are all gone before you die.

A lot of mistakes that people make early on in learning a class/spec is just not pressing all the buttons. Once you are getting down the pressing of the buttons, then you can work on the best time to press them

oh and my advise for current meta. use trinket and pop defensives instantly in most cases

I started as a HM and switch to good ol' Tauren . Stun is WAY better than the bull rush if we talk about active skills. For passive racials, HM have vers (fuck kul tirans) and a physical dps reduction which may come handy in some encounters but Tauren again are marginally better overall again. @manic arrow I think it works same way the pandemic windows function for DoTs and HoTs. If you apply a dot or hot with <30% of the duration left then that duration is added on to it. So I think starfall lasts 10 seconds, if you use starfall again with less than 3 seconds of the buff you will get it for ~12 seconds.

@dense edge you rarely ever use swipe as it deals less damage onto your primary target than shred, but there is some niche use to it. You may want to swipe a mage out of invisibility for example

In using it and I find it great. It's really flexible. I'm also running the increased frenzy regen heal and regrowth %, until I unlock the slot for the free one. Currently I find the increased options better than the free proc with Oath. I find 3 frenzy regens a little over kill with thorns. If you plan to cat more the free regen conduit itself is likely much better.

Build combos as you open in cat (to not proc your oath if feral) swap back to cat when you find a convoke timing and either bash/maim with your stored combos for the convoke. Oath only procs off affinity shifts in combat. It won't proc if you are in your affinity and then enter combat it's pretty fluid when you get a feel for it, but be ready to power shift some if you need to force it to turn on.
