tracked bars is what you're looking for, in the buff section of the cooldown manager. you don't need starlord you can get rid of that i like to have it

I think the addon gut will in fact bring new players to the game mode and some will be healers and realistically some will be good enough to play at mid mmrs
I also think the ability prune helps healers be more approachable to non-current-healer mains
Current healers are fine with it but the fact is healers in pvp and m+ often just had 'too many' keybinds across the board, there was no like, specs like dev or bm for healers with 'fewer' keybinds
All were 25+ keybind specs and some were 30s
Which is frankly just a huge turn off for an already less desirable to play role

That would be the setting we would adjust. The invisible clickable area that registers a click on nameplates that are slightly larger than the size of the nameplate itself

We're actually in an even worse spot because it used to be relatively straightforward to get a weakaura to fix the exact thing you wanted to fix, but now you have to be a professional treasure hunter to scour curseforge/discords to find the one addon that managed to work around blizzard's insane restrictions to make a workable solution that nobody else knows about.
tl;dr there's an even larger addon learning curve now for new players

you're right it will not bring in new players probably but the new players who do come in have a fairly straight forward set up and there will be tons of tutorials to walk them through it just like wa had. Also for sure some angel like bodify is going to make a one stop solution to clean up what we do have
they also are actively fixing things. like they quietly patched in details to show us enemy team damage. it is still just prepatch i feel like it's going to be fine

I think it's about new player on boarding. I feel they failed in their goal and high raiding will still require addons, and you can say technically you didn't need addons before in all pre mythic raid scenarios (last season I visited my mom and played on her pc and gained io at 3.1k w zero addon) but it's about community perception. If the guild requires you to have xyz it's a required addon.
Now you can sandbag and not have it but the real reality is some classes were legit weakaura classes, my biggest example is demo. I loaded up a key with another demo on my demo in s3 and I compared our dng at the end because he GIGA gapped me, I looked at his implosion damage and he gapped me by 40percent despite having less casts of implosion

Because implosion damage was based on total imp energy sacrificed and not anything truly tangible to the player like total imps. So if you had 20 imps all with 10 energy and imploded them it would do less damage than 3 imps with 70

the problem with mythic raid is the expectation that it's fkn hard
and with weak auras solving mechanics fundamentally, it just turned into a war between addon devs and encounter designers
hopefully what we will see is encounters are less "difficult" from a coordination perspective
and more "difficult" from a conceptual standpoint
speaking from experience obviously, doing bosses before weak auras solved mechanics in RWF prog and then doing it once a cooked weak aura came out is always night and day, but doing mechanics where a weak aura is mandatory from minute one was insanity
