its not a hard or fast rule on when to surge you kinda jsut gotta feel it and pay attention to what's happening, your melee will be on something that they want to kill hard, and when there's cross cc on healers or an opportunity to kill, thats when you should rip a surge

Having dots on multiple targets gives you some funnel to do more single target dmg, also having dots on multiple targets lets you swap to them easier if the one ur trying to burst gets an immune or big defensive. But it’s also probably bad to start a team fight with 15 gcds in a row just applying dots. So find a balance between the two idk

bit of an open ended question but understanding when burst is coming and finding a way to stop it is a big one, you can play like a coward and bear form and eat full burst or you can charge incap/bash into clone (if you play well you would've forced trinket earlier) gg burst nullified

or you can play faerie swarm (even tho it's dispellable/freedomable) to try and interrupt some of that burst
