eh, throughout the history of the game whenever a reward is dropped the weirdo crowd has always been weird, but they're not actually really less difficult to obtain in a vacuum. in legion elite sets were reduced to 2k, and people rose up against that change and talked about how in cata the elite recolour 'meant something'
and i am like 'bruh' because in cata i was 2650 and i had a LOT of friends who were 2100-2300 rating and they all got rival lol, in legion rival was like 1900
rewards are lowered because less people play the game, relative difficulty will likely remain similar

I agree with this. I also think it's easier to boost ppls confidence in a bg. In df I tried 2s with my gf and we got stuck at 1750 because it was like monotonous and the games and their learning opportunities sort of blend together.
She wanted to try again this year so we did blitz and she liked it a lot more, at first she wanted 10 wins for legion appearance, then 1800 for classic wow pvp set, and then we were close to enchant etc,
Blitz is really friendly for super new to pvp players

Bgs are nice transition between PvE and arenas. And before Blitz you couldn't get into BGs because for rated everybody needed XP. For example before TWW my best rating was 1600 SS and 1700 RBGs. Now im 2200+ every season in blitz and currently 2500. So i think it can really bring people into PvP
