play wildstalker, early spring and giga tree required, last talent is flex usually disentanglement but could play tireless pursuit or highwinds. generally refuse to fc as in the ratleagues people from the 2007 time machine think you are an effective flag carrier. Disentanglement if you think they will run mage on defense in flag carry, otherwise high winds. Get used to healing offense because if you climb higher 2 healer defense is kinda troll in this damage meta no matter which way you slice it.
other than that it plays pretty standard as far as healers go. strong at LM on ab because hard to knock and can play with another caster for cc caps, strong in deepwind gorge for the same reason,
weak in gilneas and deephaul ravine, not that great in eots because you can go oom in extended teamfights and those can be extended teamfight maps. basically this class is a worse mistweaver straight up and you will not often, but sometimes, just straight be the reason your team loses ei dps is evenly matched (rare) and you are rdruid/hpal vs disc/hpal or mw/hpal (something that can FC) but that's the name of the game.

two things, it just has more output straight up when you get 2p tier, it creates more dispel fodder, and in smaller skirmish like on deepwind/AB it gives you real damage pressure in small scale stuff but this is a minor consideration. go wildstalker and when you get 2p/4p just look at your symbiotic bloom breakdown it's just a raw numbers thing. it's extremely 'free' healinggggggg
your weakest maps are extended teamfight maps and your strongest are small scale objective maps and wildstalker is just clearly much better even if you never press catform ever in those situations.
there are extreme flex situations where heart of the wild catform actually farms hard also, straight up. mostly in stuff like LM spin node where you+mage can actually get a kill and then cc for a cap or contributing actual real damage to EFC for instance if you+hunter get a stealth opener
but it's just an output thing. tonnes of breakdowns are gunna look like this when you get 2p

Just looked at icyveins build its a fine base, I run aesinnas renewal to reduce mental bloat and run disorienting roar over bash, sometimes imp stampeding roar on wsg over lycaras inspiration, mostly Astral influence over symbiotic relationship but I do not think this or aessinas are better, just comfort. Obviously switch to rip/maim if you want over starsurge and take call of the elder druid in resto tree if you do that. 1p liveliness 1p forests flow over thriving vegetation, take pt out of forests flow for elder druid if you take cat talents

Playing a pillar is just one 'fundamental' but ofc it isnt for the full game. Melee dps have to chase to do damage, casters more or less control where fights take place and you gotta adjust.

And how long are you normally sitting in bear? Everything about it kinda disincentives being in there for more than a few seconds at a time (ursine vigor, frenzied, etc). And it’s actively harder on your healer to recover your hp bar in bear so from a pve throughput perspective you want to be out of bear as soon as healing received is higher than dmg taken

Generally speaking you run away and use CC as you're getting distance. You can force a gap closer with Typhoon, Wild Charge away, Stampeding Roar etc, and spam instants as you run
You control the positioning so you wanna move in arcs around the range of your healer and drag the enemy melee around corners

Those arent mutually exclusive, your damage is all instant
You run and do damage
You just need to use those windows of time to get certain casts off
If you force mobility then get extra distance a different way, you clone 1 dps and hit the other, fake the other's cast and swap targets when the 1st clone ends, etc

damage isn't really in a place where you can just sit and stand and bang outside of cds, maybe if they make some changes for healers to have more throughput or tone down dmg but ye not rn i dont think
If you want to win more games my best advice is get an addon or weak aura that tells you when people are using cds and the second that happens press typhoon or mass entangle and wild charge to a pillar and los
double melee on enemy team means they go super horny for caster so if you can be a pain to hit they will either dive you which is good for your offensive dmg and you will probably win the game
or they get bored and swap to your partner which is where you stand on pillar and spam clones to be annoying
but is like if dk is gripping you in thats where you press bear form and so if you get stunned you can skin the damage while you're sitting stun and then very methodically go through the same principals of creating distance, getting away and spamming out dmg
current boomy is just living until your next incarn where you press root/beam and 100-0 someone anyway

Damage is damage, and the damage vs healing/surviving battle is won by small margins, so people tend to underestimate gains that sound small

Like for example, let's say you do 3m DPS and healers heal 2.5M HPS. It would take 30s to kill someone through that attrition. Now buff your damage by 5% and it takes 23s, it's more like 25% faster than 5%.
Ofc just made up numbers but I think small changes go a long way

Just make sure that have some decent size and try to be proportional to the rest of your physique is my advice, but yes don't skip them completely
