Optimal rep grinding method I've worked out is to begin a match by dive bombing an elite on the outer-ish edges of the map and grabbing the spell from it, then sweeping up the plunder as you go while working on your Captain's Orders.
Every round, you get a Captain's Orders objective that is very simple and rewards a solid chunk of plunder.
By the time I usually have 500 plunder and there are 20-30 players remaining, I found that plunder gain slows to a glacial pace and you have to rely on getting kills to earn a lot more. So at this point, take a quick look around for any low hanging fruit, then just walk right into the storm and die.

you can get about 500-600 dablooms in 3-4 minutes
the math adds up better to die and repeat
I take around 3 minutes to to my quest and get as much plunder as I can, which usually nets me around 500 rep per match. It's generally around another minute or so to queue up and get back into a match. So that's about 4 minutes per 500 rep. At 500 rep per game, it takes 200 games to get 100,000 rep. At 4 minutes per run for 500 rep that's 200 games times 4 minutes, so 800 minutes. Divide by 60 and you get 13 hours and 20 minutes of play time.
