I just read the QuestionablyEpic article on resto stats and have a question:

Intellect >>> Haste >> Mastery > Crit = Versatility
and
Intellect is our most important stat. Gaining 1% more intellect will in general increase your healing by 1%.

This seem relatively straightforward, but I'm considering which weapon enchant to buy. The sophic for 937 int or the wafting for 1743 haste.
The Sophic would increase my int by around 6.6-7%, wheras the Wafting would increase my haste by around 8-8.5%.

Doesn't that make wafting better? AND it increases my move speed by 11%

7% increased healing is pretty straightfoward.

8% increased haste is added to your current haste so its not really 8% increased healing, eg. going from 30% to 38% is only an increase of 138/130=6.1%

Haste is better though if you struggle to get all your hots rolling. However if you end up with all hots up and some wasted downtime, slower casts with more int would be better.
Haste does proc some things like omen of clarity though, and so you get increased clear castings in addition to the healing throughput.

Do they have different uptimes? I would love a source for that!

I've heard other people state that int>mastery>haste=verse>>>crit, but that still doesn't explain why

in almost any situation you will have mostly vers in pvp not entirely sure what you are saying

and also that is oversimplistic as you kinda showed you understand that stats arent that black and white

like if you get more mastery your haste vers and crit all get better in relation

also just looked it up - not entirely sure how you got that 8% number from I have 6.8% (assuming you dont hit any softcaps with it - which you likely do)

(numbers used were 1162 haste for rank 3 wafting and 170 haste/percentage)
