You really just want to use it manually. There’s not really anything that it makes a ton of sense to always pair it with.
You could maybe macro it with ns and that wouldn’t be completely wasteful
The logic being that you are probably using ns whenever you are in trouble and ns won’t handle a big situation on its own. But this is definitely still not recommended as there are plenty of spots where you just need to ns someone who made a mistake or took a bolt or whatever and you won’t get much value from the trinket
OK, thanks. So, should I try to just maximize my trinket uptime for combat/healing?
Are you asking about m+ or raid here? The answers probably differ
I was assuming m+ but realized you didn’t specify
both
Okay well for m+ you aren’t so much trying to maximize uptime. You are using it to fill gaps where you need extra throughput without committing a bigger cd (convoke/tranq)
I will let someone else answer for raid because I’m not sure how you play that trinket in raid
Got it, thanks! That's definitely helped me already. If anyone else has any more input, I'd love to hear it. I enjoy optimizing and understanding things like this.
If I understand correctly and think about it again, the best approach isn't necessarily to maximize uptime, but rather to anticipate when there will be periods of high healing demand and focus the trinket use there. For example, when AOE burst damage hits, etc. (without convoke?)
Yeah. Although generally if you plan correctly convoke/tranq can handle all of those spots. More realistically the trinket is a backup cd for when things go wrong
kk
Alternately you can just send it for damage sometimes
When should I use the emberwing feather?
That's what we were just writing about. you should read the messages above this one. Between Banewlf and me 🙂
thx
who do lifebloom and symbiotic go on in keys?
Whoever needs it I think, re: lifebloom
Often things like mage Aug ww in my experience
People who will soak a mechanic ex: ambush in algethar
As for symbiotic, I would like to know the answer from somebody better as well, because like
I usually just throw it on the tank
Which is probably bad
I put it on whom I think I will keep lifebloom on the most because they will probably get more healing
Some dungeons don't require to move the lifebloom too much either, I just don't think symbiotic has a big impact anwyays
You will be moving lifebloom between the tank and the squishy dps in keys
Its going to be mostly on tank
Because most of the time the majority of the damage is on the tank and its pointless keeping it on dps when there isnt group wide damage at that moment
Every key i do the tank gets fking oneshot
ye some pulls really are tank busters. I should really improve which pulls those are because I know a couple but about tank busters I kinda ignore the whole array of stuff
I'll try playing guardian a bit so I get to understand the dungeons better
But if you ask me whatever dungeon: I can't tell you which mobs damage tank the most and what debuffs they apply
Ye figured it's a key difficulty nuance that I don't experience which is why I asked
I'm nuance
theres a store on my way to work called nuance and i think of u every time i pass by it
Hi nuance thank you for being you
nuance was a really annoying player in bdg
I always associate that name with him now
I play with a vdh most of the time, and sometimes with a prot paladin so my lb is almost always on them. Otherwise I'd say it depends on the tank. I wouldn't put it on a bear if I ever were to play with one as an rdruid. Monks wouldn't get it either. With the others I would probably switch it between a DPS and and the tank.
its just contextual I think
for any tank
my lb is on tanks by default but on heavy aoe damage, fire phase crawth etc its always on dps
99% of bosses tank doesn’t need lb tho
yeah true
My friend who learned resto before me said in 12 and lower keys or sometimes higher too tanks need to click degensive on maisara first boss on 1 mechanic which they dont and they take huge dmg.
So after rolling resto i hold lb on maisara first boss. Idk if its right tho
You should have your lb on tank at all times unless you think that your squishy dps is in danger
@proven phoenix
john blizzard is keeping you down
How are you not timing keys on monk man
GM
dps let a shadowbolt go off during blueberry pulse in mt right before the squid... had like 15 mins left on that 21. i got insta'd, group dead before bres ):
i mean that boss is literally free both for tank and dps, there is literally one mechanic for tank and one for dps so
Generaly speaking I find maisara to be more tank-heavy than dps-heavy when it comes to damage so I put the lb on tank and forget about him
With minor exceptions on some packs or boss
I love mc there is no random double ass bleed that ticks for 3mil dmg
dont u love heal absorb into 5x spear casts 😻
maisara caverns is probably the worst dungeon this season
Nexus point is not more hps heavy?
Or ita just a mechanic issue.
Everytime I do nexus the both wings are hps heavy
is kinda chill
respectfully no
the first half of the dungeon is complete cbt
the second half doesnt do anything
none of the bosses do anything
just awful
alright i timed 22 seat lets go
a crashout is needed for a high key to be timed
noted
I like this dungeon pool a lot. Nothing feels like too big of a burden to play.
seat has high hps requirements, but i d rather play it than floodgate or priory from last season as an example
think 3rd boss seat just has high everything requirement
high rng on spawns
high dps requirement to kill
i think season 2 is going to be living hell unless they hard nerf some of the dungeons
I think 3rd boss seat is hardest m+ boss this season, and it's not really close
But I'm doing baby keys
I agree with that yeah
Actually I'm not doing any keys
🍙
I’m assuming uni went well?
my professor got me drunk (FINE) (NOT DEROGATORY)
hi drunk i’m swirl
I hate Skyreach
Dunnow why, I rarely fail them but god damn
Have 7 rolls left to use, and trying to balance gear for both resto and balance. Where should i send them?
(staff was from vault so a bonus roll still has a chance to get duplicate from Nexus)
You cant really balance the gear as balance doesnt play high haste and no crit
You need to gear for your main role and then you can switch up some gear for off spec
ah gotcha, then i guess focusing on resto as that's what my main spec i want to play is. what would be the best for bonus rolls?
I assume cloak and wrists will probably be crafted slots with arcanoweave right?
It depends on your loot. There is a great cloak from dragons and a great wrist from academy, but you still need to have the embellishment somewhere. I have it on boots and wrist.
Nexus point is great for bonus rolling, but I also suggest pugging myth dreamrift to bonus roll gaze
Yeah i thought about Gaze, but idk that i'd even get into groups. they're so cut throat with applications
Yeah you ll need at least 280 to get in a pug
But doing even heroic dreamrift and heroic crown are great upgrades for you now
You wouldnt bonus roll those obviously
Would Seat be a bad dungeon to roll on? there's basically every slot of gear available (that can be used for catalysts), but neck/rings/trinkets are all meh
Seat has a lot of vers stuff that we dont use. Its good if you can get a piece you can catalyze
If I were you I'd be rolling on Windrunner to get rid of those trinkets
Heart of Wind would do a lot for you. Emberwing isn't horrible either
oh right, forgot about my shit trinkets xD
It also has shoulders and chest that can be catalized
Myth gaze and myth how should be your trinket goals if you dont raid much
if i don't raid as much, would coach's whistle be a good alternative to use?
I'm just planning for the worst if i can never get into mythic raids to get gaze
Emberwing Feather is better than coach whistle but whistle will do for awhile
Sure but do know the gap with gaze is tremendous
Even heroic gaze
That trinket is busted
Yeah you really should just try to get gaze at all costs
Yeah i've experienced that first hand on my warlock lol it's a stupid trinket
Chimaerus isn't that bad even on mythic
yeah it's just getting accepted into a group at 270 ilvl
Go for the heroic one then, I still run that and hot damn
you still get a 285 one after all
Just start your own. People mostly know what to do at this point. All you gotta do is set up the groups and pick rescuers
Well get your other gear up first
And you ll be 280 and then someone will accept you
I'll use 5 of my 7 to get my gear up and save 2 rolls to try to get a mythic chim roll
solid plan
thanks for the help yall!
Unethical LPT: keep all the useless gear you bonus roll and equip it while you apply to groups, then put your proper gear back on
Fake it til you make it
Oh Skyreach, oh key I need
On first boss, why must they feed
The bird is one, he is alone
Chakram deaths, I do thus moan
doesnt lfg show ur bag item level anyway instead of equipped?
I don't think so
Yes it does
most of the time in Raidung mytic i put LB on the tank, but i think it can also be on me or someone who has most ppl around him because of Lifetrading, am i right? its not just simply plain always on Tank?
It should 100% always be on yourself
And every swiftmend cast should also be on yourself
It’s very bad to do otherwise
oh okay, no stupid why on me if i dont get as much dmg as a tank?
Because you have healing modifiers that boost everbloom healing
okay understood, in m+ its also that way?
Nope
ok there its tank or the one who gets the dmg atm, y?
last question 🙂
After swiftmend in Raid, then Revju? Wildgrowth on CD anyway
Usually use on rejuv but regrowth can be situationally good, it’s less mana efficient but can give you a strong burst, wg depends on your mana, most long fights if you wg on cd you’ll oom
thx, i feel now better :=)
I had a dream last time that restro druid can apply rejuvenation on 2 targets at a time, just like balance druid applies moonfire to mobs.
Twin Rejuv go brr
you was probaly in the soul of forest
Wait til you find out it applies to 3 at a time
Is it better to always have lifebloom on the tank or move it from target to target?
in m+? whoever needs healing
ok ty
I like to put it on myself unless the tank is a prot pal. Then move it around to dps that needs healing.
why specifically prot palas
what if it’s a prot warr
or a vdh
Hey guys quick question! does convoke when healing heals people at random or prioritize target? currently having some bad time when convoking in a M+ for a key and it feels like is not healing properly
just rng
anyone know if you can change loot spec before bonus rolling and still see whats gone from the pool etc?
I’m not 100% sure but I think the way it works is the tooltip doesn’t change based on what loot spec you’re in but you can change after killing the boss and it’ll roll for the lootspec you are when you click the roll button
ah damn, yea cos i did some runs on my aug to farm pit as theres hella bis there, realised i had loot specced as pres the entire time
Whats everyones typical overheal % on say a 17/18 key? Im sitting at like 50%, but often feel that if i dont keep rejuv's up and prehots rolling, I cant deal with all of the unexpected damage coming throughout the dungeon.
That doesnt matter
rather safe than sorry
unexpected damage?
Yeah, unexpected damage is the worrying part of your question
Most damage should be quite expected
Sure 40-50%, but as said already, doesn't matter
Change loot spec, reload and check the tooltip
Unexpected damage as in missed kicks, late interrrupts (on firehawks in ws for example). On top of people not using defensives requiring additional healing, etc.
I ask about overhealing just because i feel like I go OOM and slow down the group a bit more often than I'd like so trying to work on being more mana efficient.
thank you sir
theres very little correlation between over healing and ooming in m+. you should almost never need to drink, especially not in the 17/18 range
make better use of your sotf procs and cheap regrowths
Ha, i'm doing somethign very inneficient then b/c i'm full drinking 2-3 times
You are almost certainly overcasting rejuvenations
Thanks for the input. I'll focus on paying attention to that.
Yeah, sounds like you are over worrying really
Do u guys know if we have a priority of casting rewroths on specific type of targets while everyone is close to 100%? Is it better to cast to targets which already have HOTs or better to use that moment of no damage to ramp it to no HOT targets
Most failed kicks are either going to one shot, or not matter unless another damage event is happening
You want to dry to spread the hots out for nb value, pandemic refreshing regrowth hots is also acceptable
huh...
there is nothing to figure out
logger was lagging or whatever and all the events got compressed
Yeah watch replay, it's all sped up
its not uncommon, wcl just purges those whenever they are reported
