Any mythic raiders able to shed some insight on why my DPS plummets so far during extended kills? I’ll have an explosive opener upwards of 240k, and i’ll progressively drop significantly. I feel like my cooldown management is relatively good, lining incarn up with treats and keeping fury uptime up as much as possible. Should I be pressing starfall more? I’m noticing the same during our vaelgor prog as well. I have a hard time characterizing proper situations where I should be prioing starfall over star surge honestly.

Hey all. So i'm generally a healer but i've been wanting to learn balance for some time especially on nights when the M+ crew has two healers on. I'm kind of smooth brained when it comes to DPS and dealing with rotations while avoiding stuff. My biggest issue is timing CD's with Astral Power. I was reading that we want to use Eclipse only when close to max power? My flaw is that i struggle to watch astral power while doing a rotation and cap it erroneously. Hi Dreamgrove, I’d like to ask for some constructive feedback on a Mythic Vorasius pull from a Balance Druid perspective.

The part I’m trying to understand is the Blistercreep timing around 3:15–3:35.

In this pull, 7 Blistercreeps spawned, each with around 2.4M HP. After checking the log more carefully, it looks like I did roughly 300k damage to each Blistercreep, mostly from passive/spread Balance damage such as Shooting Stars and Moonfire/Sunfire-type damage. That means I contributed around 12.5% of each add’s HP, so I understand that my damage was not insignificant.

There were around 14 DPS players in the raid. There was no explicit raid leader call to stop DPS on the Blistercreeps. The calls I remember were mainly to use personals, healthstones, healing potions, and raid cooldowns. During that 3:15–3:35 window, 3 players died. From what I can see in the log, all 3 did not use a healing potion, and only 1 used a healthstone.

I’m trying to understand how much of this was actually my mistake as a Balance Druid.

My questions are:

1. On Mythic Vorasius, should Balance Druids actively limit Starfall / DoTs / passive spread damage on Blistercreeps during this timing?
2. Is doing around 300k damage to each 2.4M HP Blistercreep enough to say that I was a major cause of them dying too quickly?
3. If several Blistercreeps died too close together, how would you determine whether the issue was Balance Druid spread damage, overall raid DPS, add positioning, healing, raid cooldown timing, or personal defensive / potion usage?
4. When reviewing this in Warcraft Logs, what should I check besides raw damage done to Blistercreeps?
5. Are there any Balance-specific adjustments you would recommend for this boss?

I’m open to criticism and genuinely want to improve. I’m not trying to blame anyone else; I just want to understand whether this was mainly a Balance Druid mistake or a broader execution issue.

1. No, if the adds are not dying at the wall then use Typhoon to help get them there. Your team should be quickly coordinating which wall to take the adds to and your damage won't be enough to kill them by itself before they can make it there.

2. No, your team should have reacted quicker and been proactive in getting the adds to their kill spot.

3. Died too close together?

4. Your casting uptime. Always be casting!

5. Preposition yourself in the middle of the room before the adds come out and use your cooldowns. If you get fixated by an add then choose a wall and use Wild Charge to get there. You can just keep targetting the boss if you want, only spending Starsurge if one add needs to die quick. At the end of killing the adds when you're dodging the earthquakes it's a good spot to use bear form and heart of the wild. If you want you can use Stampeding Roar and then instantly press Heart of the Wild since it's off-gcd and enter back into Moonkin Form after.

During the regular phase you can stand close to the tank soak and step into the space after to be safe from the earthquake mechanic. Try to make sure you have the opportunity to fill that movement with an instant global like a spender or a cooldown.
