Would you say its more important to spend astral power to not overcap, or get into eclipse again faster? If for instance I'm at 90 ap and my eclipse will run out within the next cast. Should I spend or overcap a little?

It's optimal to spend astral power if you're going to cap, even if you're not in eclipse. I try to be around 60 astral power or so when I'm exiting eclipse though. So id say spend it if you're definitely going to cap.

sims are an avg of a lot of pulls with variance based on the RNG of procs and such. So you'd have to know the rng of your pull, you'd have to play pretty close to the sim with little downtime, and then find that iteration with the exact same rng as your pull, to be able to accurately compare. I think in a general sense you can aim for the number, but it won't be accurate. There isn't a "do this % of your sim or bad." It's just a way to show on avg this item will be better/worse.
