#Install with existing Rasbian OS

You don't. That is an OS image (with the feeder stuff preinstalled, and some management extras). If you must use your own OS installation, go here instead: https://www.adsbexchange.com/ways-to-join-the-exchange/existing-equipment/ but you'll need to have installed your own decoder first too (e.g. https://github.com/wiedehopf/adsb-scripts/wiki/Automatic-installation-for-readsb)
How do I remove the Rasbian OS?
Or do I just install
curl -L -o /tmp/axfeed.sh https://www.adsbexchange.com/feed.sh
sudo bash /tmp/axfeed.sh
Either "flash" the ADSBx image to your microSD card and use that (the easy way - https://www.adsbexchange.com/ways-to-join-the-exchange/build-your-own/), or install the decoder and then install the feeder scripts using the links above.
Which would be the best way going forward?
I think Rasbian is only installed so could access via Rasbian
if you're starting from scratch, the image is easier (to install and maintain)
you'll need a PC and a SD card reader (to write the image) though
I guess that will allow me to login remotely?
I can do so on Mac
That's fine, so long as you can write an image to the SD card. and yes, you can ssh in (and the image include a browser-based management interface)
How does one remove OS?
Just write the image to the SD card - it'll replace whatever is on there now. It's like painting a wall ๐
Iโll try again later as donโt have a card reader with me ๐ค๐ผ
is there a way I can feed to both ADSB and Flight Radar? I guess if I flash their tool it will replace the ADSB?
There is a way to do it with the ADSBx image, although I haven't tested it recently. Sometimes they make breaking changes. https://www.adsbexchange.com/adsbexchange-custom-image-other-feed-clients/
Oh I did see that and thought it was something else!
yeah it's fairly simple with the adsbexhange base image, at least was when I set it up, aside from a port conflict not showing me the local FA map, haven't had any issues
do I need to format before I put the image on?
no, just use the RPi Imager, or balenaEtcher - it'll overwrite whatever is on the card
weird it's not taking it
oh you're on a Mac ... use whatever Mac people use to do the same ๐
i'm trying both ๐
oh, etcher supports macOS too - cool
ok so got it all installed but no aircraft ๐
What's your antenna setup? Type and location (indoors?)
Orient the antenna vertically and try to get it by a window and as far away as possible from electronic devices (which make noise)
I have it outside the window at present
An lna would help a lot too... Either an external one or replace that stick with a blue one
LNA? I just got the stick as it was a quick fix for a weekend play
Preamp. These cheap sdrs are not very sensitive
suprised i's not evening picking anything flying over the house
The graphs are showing some messages being received, but not many. Could you show the signal level and gain graphs?
