#Need help with radar

I need help and I don't know where to look for information or anyone to guide me.

I want to follow and see some aircraft when I enter my private area, the problem is that they are aircraft that come out blocked or not in radarbox, flightradar24 or similar, the only thing I've seen that can help me would be anti drone radars or something similar, if anyone has a way to help me or give me information I would appreciate it.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi. If the aircraft in question have active ADS-B or Mode-S transponders, and there are sufficient feeders in the area receiving those signals, ADSBexchange should show the aircraft. If the aircraft do not have such (active) transponders, ADSBexchange has no way to track them.

Besides a tracking site? I mean if you have a million dollars (or your local equivalent) lying around you could put up your own radar.

#

Unless the area just needs a feeder you can put up one for about $100-$150. But I f it doesn’t transmit ADSB then the only other way to see it is an actual radar.

They have ads-b but they deactivate it, why I never see it reflected on the web, if I set up a feeder or something do you think I can see it?

I do not have anything installed, I live next to an airport just 2km away, the thing is that when I look for only 2/3 aircraft in the area, however medical and police helicopters H135 and AS365 N3+ that are supposed to have ads-b but I think they deactivate it or I do not know what they do.

If it’s actually off no, but it’s possible the feeder coverage in your area isn’t great. If they are mode-s it takes 4 feeders to see it at the same time to get a location.

Lemonador built a tool that works with your ADSBx feeder that lets you get alerted when certain planes are detected by your feeder. I don't have the link handy right now.

is there anything I can do on my own to increase coverage and make sure I detect ads-b and mode-s and have the best coverage possible? What is the most powerful thing I can set up on my own?

setup your own feeder as described at the link above, with good quality coax and antenna placed where it has a clear view of the sky

#

There are other things you could do, like additional filtering, LNA at the antenna, etc., but they probably aren't necessary

Depending on your hardware and placement of the antenna

You will get the Mode-S ones - you just won't get positions for them

Mode-S transponder data does not include the position (location) of the aircraft. To determine positions, a process called multilateration (MLAT) is used, but it requires at least 4 stations receiving the same Mode-S signal. ADS-B data does include the position, so one feeder is enough.

I'm not an expert either, but intuitively I would think it would work best when there are receivers on all sides of the target. It's always an estimated position - the more receivers in different directions, the better the result should be

# stuck wigeon As I said, I don't know what I need, I want to detect the aircraft that pass thr...

if you feel comfortable, it would be nice to know what country/area you are talking about, and second, if you have multiple locations are your disposal, setting up a mlat network with lots of feeders would be your best bet, but I doubt most people have access to many different buildings in their area. In that case, setting up a powerful antenna feeder station at your house would be your best bet

it'll work off whatever device you are using to post here regardless of where you are at the moment

I dont think you can see everything, there are medical and police aircraft that I can see in flight and the are not on the web, but i can see the planes that arrive or take off fron the airport. I have been told that it could be that the aircraft i indicate do not have ads-b but it is not so because i have confirmed that if they do, it is the HC135 and AS365 N3+

Yes, whether it is active or not is another matter, they may be carrying it.

I don't suppose you have any tail numbers?

stuck wigeon
wind trellis

I mean the registration of the aircraft - e.g. in the US, it could be something like N123AA

wind trellis
#

if you can share them, we can look to see if they have been tracked anywhere ...

lapis jetty
#

@stuck wigeon Any luck with getting us the tail numbers?

stuck wigeon
#

Yes, i share but in private msg i don't like share tail number here

lapis jetty

Given that tail numbers can be read by anyone who sees the aircraft your logic seems a little flawed.
