bronze turret
#

he threw on turns 1 and 3

#

dan threw on turn 2

urban lichen
#

but could triple battle change the throwing order?

bronze turret
#

No

urban lichen
#

if it was used

bronze turret
#

The game just progresses normally

urban lichen
#

so when triple battle activates

bronze turret
#

It goes to the next turn yeah

urban lichen
#

the person who owns the card doesn’t get to instantly throw?

bronze turret
#

yup

urban lichen
#

huh

bronze turret
#

BakuProject is different

urban lichen
#

Yeah ik

bronze turret
#

Most cards don't care about who the "owner" of the card is

#

Only one i dont know about yet is Grand Spirit

urban lichen
#

How does additional task work

#

because i remember someone took two turns

#

with it

#

komba iirc

bronze turret
#

iirc the player who stood second has to throw again immediately

#

a different bakugan

#

maybe a higher g power one

#

im not sure tho

#

would have to check

urban lichen
#

did that effect the turn counter tho?

#

i’ll try checking

urban lichen
bronze turret
#

Yea

#

Triple battle and intercept are unique cards in that they pause the battle and let the turns progress normally

#

The main problem is how does Dan have serpenoid still standing on the field

#

If he only shot once

#

and he lost one bakugan to shuji while shuji lost two

urban lichen
#

I’ll figure it out give me a couple min

bronze turret
#

I think some ability and gate card stuff has to be the cause obviously

urban lichen
#

What episode was this again?

bronze turret
#

episode 2 around the halfway mark

urban lichen
#

ahh yeah

#

after masq beat runo i remember now

#

i’ll take a look

#

you only get 3 total abilities right?

#

that complicates things even more

#

since shuji uses correlation and jump over

bronze turret
#

yes

urban lichen
#

so he only used 1 ability prior

bronze turret
#

Dan could have used up to 2 and shuji only 1

#

also at least two gate cards were fought for maybe 3

#

i do want to acknowledge that its possible that it went Dan Shuji Dan Dan ...

#

We've seen turn skipping happen in rare occasions especially with ventus cards

#

Specifically Scarless Twister and Air Battle have weird interactions

urban lichen
#

How do those work exactly?

#

hmmm

#

or what ep did they happen

bronze turret
#

Basically every single appearance of them

#

I think we've seen that instead of rolling on your turn you can activate Air Battle on a standing Bakugan, but that still increased the turn counter in ep 10 i think

#

Also you can activate Scarless Twister and that seems to skip your current or next turn

#

So one possibility is if

#

T1 - Dan
T2 - Shuji
T3 - Dan (Shuji activates Scarless Twister on this turn, skipping his next turn)
T4 - Dan (since Shuji is skipped)

#

The other is just the obvious one (Shuji, Dan, Shuji, Dan)

#

I might be able to come up with a way that's possible, but not one that's plausible

#

Shuji would have to be the biggest dumbass and griefing himself in order for my made up scenario to maybe work

#

But actually no since he only used one ability

median locust
#

Well, we know Dan had Drago on some kind of Pyrus normal Gate Card in the final round. And since Dan (in the Japanese version) basically asked what a Falconeer at 300 Gs is gonna do against his Serpenoid with 320 Gs, then I really doubt that the Serpenoid is on Shuji's Gate Card.

#

That would mean Dan defeated two of Shuji's Bakugan, separately, one on Shuji's Gate Card and maybe the other on one of his own Gate Cards. That's plenty plausible though at least.

#

Just not before Turn 5. That turn counter has GOT to be ignored because what the heck.

urban lichen
#

we do not know the gs of saurus, robo, or gargonoid correct?

bronze turret
#

probably do know if its saurus no

#

since he used it in the last episode i think we can kinda use that

#

but the exact amount doesnt matter

urban lichen
#

Ah

bronze turret
#

we just need a way it could happen not even the actual one

#

If we can show there's a way there might be what actually happened

else it might be impossible with what we know or just a mistake

urban lichen
#

I may have a plausible way if shuji had an extra ability

#

But following rules of what we currently know i’m not seeing how it could be done legitly, even with twister or air battle

#

if twister is used to skip a turn does it get added to the counter?

#

wait

#

hold up give me a min

median locust
#

It's highly probable that Dan used his same loadout and deck against Masquerade in that very same episode (in fact, it was mere minutes after the battle and he never even expected to face Shuji that day at all), so I do think he used his Saurus with the 280 Gs. He just battled Shuji with what he brought to face Masquerade.

#

But we don't know how strong the Ventus Gargonoid or Robotallion are, we can only guess.

urban lichen
#

i believe saurus may need to be 300+ gs for my theory i am working on to be correct

#

but that could be plausible

median locust
#

Dan had Saurus Glow (at least against Masquerade), so that was a +50 permanent boost for the Saurus during the game. That puts it at 330 Gs.

urban lichen
#

What was dan’s third ability or is it unknown

bronze turret
#

boosted dragon

#

he used it at the end of masquerade brawl

urban lichen
#

Saurus glow booster dragon and what

bronze turret
#

fire wall but we saw that later

urban lichen
#

ah

#

if dan is t1, shuji, t2,dan is t3. Is it plausible if shuji bralws on turn 4 and uses twister on that same turn, that his entire turn did not count?

#

and dan throws drago out turn 4 (technically 5 but turn 4 didn’t count for shuji)

bronze turret
#

We saw turn 4

median locust
#

How would Dan have lost one Bakugan and Shuji 2 Bakugan though?

bronze turret
#

Only three turns happened, when i said skip i mean the order can have two dans in a row

median locust
#

I think the turn count with that remaining Bakugan total is impossible to recreate with the known cards. I mean... did someone have a Mine Ghost?

But for Dan to have a Serpenoid on the field, Shuji has nothing on the field, and Dan sends in Drago on the following turn... It's possible Shuji did something really weird, like retreat with the "Back Draft" Ability or something when he started a battle against Serpenoid.

#

It would account for Shuji's missing Ability.

bronze turret
#

but without activating the gate card..

#

If dan used the abilities we think he did

#

then why would he start a losing fight and retreat or be winning but not wait for gate card to open

median locust
#

Maybe Shuji sent his Bakugan onto Dan's empty Gate Card. Then Dan rolled Serpenoid onto the same card to challenge it to battle, and Shuji said "nope" and Back Drafted.

#

But then, it'd be Shuji's turn to throw, wouldn't it?

bronze turret
#

maybe? but when did his two other bakugan die

urban lichen
median locust
#

That's the question, because Dan having 600 HSP is so bizarre.

urban lichen
#

but that doesn’t explain the HSP

bronze turret
#

yeah both won at least one card

median locust
#

Well, Dan somehow got 500 HSP off of a dang +70 Subterra Gate Card, so we probably don't need to focus too much on HSP consistency.

#

But yeah, they both won at least one card.

bronze turret
#

there were at least two battles

urban lichen
#

if HSP could be off how do we know 2 battles were fought?

median locust
#

Because I'm saying we can be sure they at least won ONE battle to get an HSP higher than 0.

urban lichen
#

ah fair

median locust
#

But even though 600 HSP suggests maybe 2 cards were won, it's possible it was actually just one card.

#

Maybe it was Double Battle, like flynger said. We don't know its HSP value.

#

Since HSP is never revealed in the combination battles.

urban lichen
#

do we know how trade off resolves hsp tho? Especially if both sides lose bakugan?

#

it would make sense that dan would get more HSP from it if 2 of shuji’s bakugan got killed while dan only had 1

median locust
#

IIRC, when someone activates something like Mine Ghost to destroy both Bakugan... I'm PRETTY sure that the HSP doesn't get awarded to either player. But interestingly, when Dan made Ryo destroy both of his own Bakugan (and none of Dan's), Dan got the HSP for the Mine Ghost card. It was 450, if memory serves.

#

So same thing with Trade Off, I think. If both players lose, the card just goes away.

#

There was also the time that Alice nullified Masquerade's Mine Ghost, and since that meant her Bakugan survived the battle on top of the Mine Ghost card, she won that Mine Ghost card and its HSP.

urban lichen
median locust
#

Episode 4, we can check that. It probably showed the HSP for most of the game.

#

First match, not the second.

urban lichen
#

i’ll pull it up

urban lichen
median locust
#

Wait.

urban lichen
#

not seeing a mind ghost first match

median locust
#

Sorry, I set you up to fail by accident lol

#

He used Doom Companion that time.

#

Let me think again.

urban lichen
#

i don’t think we have

#

i’m trying to think of times mind ghost was used

#

shun used it on komba

median locust
#

Yes, but in the same situation as Dan turning it against Ryo.

urban lichen
#

klaus tried to beat preyas with it, but preyas used dive

median locust
#

Only Komba lost Bakugan to that Mine Ghost.

urban lichen
#

yeah

#

wait

#

i wonder if marucho gained hsp from that

median locust
urban lichen
#

Pain

#

I’m personally sticking with my trade-off theory then

median locust
#

That when both players are defeated in a round, they both gain the HSP from the Gate Card?

urban lichen
#

Not if its 1:1

#

But since it is 2:1 I think there is a chance

median locust
#

You know, now that I think about it, Runo's Ability Cards for the Haos attribute should've given Masquerade a run for his money, especially combined with her Gate Cards.

Masquerade probably had to work a little harder to defeat her than he did Dan. Unless Runo just played REALLY poorly.

urban lichen
#

well masquerade is beatable

#

Chan Lee should have beat him

#

If she just had her charchter open and didn’t use face of rage right away, masquerade would have been forced to use merge shield

median locust
#

Haos Freeze, Lightning Tornado (assuming it decreases the Gs of all opponents in the round), Ability Counter, Rapid Haos.... Unless she got caught up in the moment and couldn't resist using Haos & Darkus Correlation because the opportunity presented itself, then she had the cards to force Masquerade to use up all 3 of his Abilities.

urban lichen
#

and once he used merge she could use rage and win

#

but instead she uses both at once and merge copies both

median locust
#

I thought about that, but we never saw Masquerade's 3rd Ability.

#

Pyrus & Darkus Diagonal Relation could've tied I guess. And it's been somewhat established that those attribute circle Abilities will let you play an Ability more than one time during a round. They don't count toward it (even though they count toward the 3 Ability limit per game)

urban lichen
#

can you clairfy this

#

so

#

Shuji could have 2 jump over?

#

with twister

#

and correlation

median locust
#

No, I'm saying that (as far as most of us can tell) you can only use one Ability per round... and the opponent is allowed to use one Counter Ability per round... under normal circumstances. That's not getting into the whole Fusion Ability thing...

But when someone uses a Correlation card, a Diagonal Relation card, or a Triple Node card... then the rules seem to make it so that you can play those cards (or at least one of those cards) in addition to your one Ability for the round.

#

It doesn't give you more Abilities to use for the game, but it does give you that extra Ability to use for the round. You still end up using 2 Abilities out of your 3. Or so some of us think.

urban lichen
#

ahhh

bronze turret
median locust
#

We just have to check the episode to see which point value Dan got.

bronze turret
#

Its not consistent unfortunately

#

Different episodes have different scales and different amounts for the same cards

bronze turret
#

Also it wouldn't have mattered what Chan did. Merge Shield is probably like Clayf's Atomic Brave and would've copied the opponent's g-power changes even after activation

#

Its like a persistent effect rather than a one time thing

#

Most effects at least

median locust
bronze turret
#

This is a bit off topic but does anyone know what era cards are attached in these old Japanese packs? They seem to have the old back but the contents should be the non HSP cards if it's the same as the American releases.

urban lichen
#

subterra had this style

#

earth power, gate building, and copycat

#

gorem charchter as well as regular attribute card

#

don’t remember storm skyress ability but it also had a charchter

bronze turret
#

i see

urban lichen
#

found it

bronze turret
#

Damn, you actually had them as a kid?

urban lichen
#

yeah

bronze turret
#

thanks for the info, I guess it's just the BB release

urban lichen
#

i lived in kuwait

#

that’s what they had there

#

had the haos as well

#

Blade tig, ravenoid, serpenoid iirc

bronze turret
#

Holy Light, Ability Counter, Saucer Ray?

#

The last one doesnt have a confirmed english translation

urban lichen
bronze turret
#

Yeah except I think thats a translator mistake lol

urban lichen
#

ah

bronze turret
#

At best that's Solar at worst its a different word entirely

urban lichen
#

prob solar

#

tentaclear had solar ray right

bronze turret
#

The japanese name for that tentaclear ability is ソーサ レイ

urban lichen
#

ah

bronze turret
#

I think its the same

urban lichen
#

english just makin stuff up

bronze turret
#

Idk what the first word is tho

urban lichen
bronze turret
#

Yeah its Sousa Rei but idk what the first word is supposed to be mean

#

Ray is def correct

urban lichen
#

this one had double dimension and charchter iirc

#

or maybe it was anniversery or EOTW i had a bunch of those but only 1 double dimension
