ive noticed in pvp alot that people will stay around safezones to pvp and immediately run inside if they get shot at.

I feel like a change to safezones could be helpfull where there could be a combat timer system that locks the safezone doors if they get shot or shoot their gun. Or it could remove the safezone protection while on timer.

i do feel like the safezones are very important for the airlocks so they should stay, and pvp shouldnt disrupt moving through the train quickly, so the timer shouldnt be very long but just long enough to prevent spamming in and out the door constantly (like 10-30 seconds)

Safezones always have issues. If there was a combat timer upon taking damage then people camping safezone doors have an advantage since they can shoot you the moment you leave the safezone and you will have nowhere to go for cover.

like a sign above the door saying "exiting this safezone will remove trace protection" which could work for worldbuilding as well

That implementation wouldn’t help the people running away into safezones issue and punishes you for trying to fight back since it would remove your option of retreating to a safezone

They’ve tried a lot of solutions for it and the most effective one they had was a 5s timer preventing you from entering a safezone after leaving it. They then removed that since it wasn’t clearly communicated to players and caused confusion/frustration.

Yes so people would just not shoot back and run into the safezone or be punished for shooting back and lose the option to run into the safezone

That heavily incentivizes just never taking a fight if you are anywhere near a safezone

there is multiple exits to the safezones imo they are fine as is and theres much higher priorities

i see how retreating into them can be annoying but people can do that at their base too

youll still get doorcamped / people will lurk by there doors to kill passerby even with this change

the risk with lurking in doors is that someone could go deep on your base

ive gone deep even with the damaging doors (not the insta kill doors)
