Hello everyone! I'm thrilled to share my homebrew class, The Vectoryst.

What is a Vectoryst? Vectorysts are masters of combat engineering and applied physics. They are not mages, but elite artillery using advanced technology—their Vector Cannon and Tech Cells—to manipulate kinetic fields, inertia, and raw force with surgical precision. They are an INT-based damage/control class focused on resource management.

Key Features:

Intelligence-Based: INT is the primary score for attacks, abilities, and resource management.

Unique Resource: Tech Cells: A pool of energy (similar to spell slots) that is spent to activate Discipline features, with recovery on Short or Long Rests.

Vector Cannon: A customizable, scaling weapon that uses your INT modifier for attack and damage rolls.

The Three Disciplines (Sub Classes):

Annihilator - Burst Damage/DPS - Uses Destructive Fire Protocol for a flurry of extra attacks, but suffers cumulative self-damage (Escalating Overload) and penalties (System Strain). High risk, maximum output.
Gravitician - Battlefield Control - Specializes in immobilization. Features like Gravitic Stasis Protocol and Localized Gravity Well manipulate speed, granting you Advantage on attacks against immobilized enemies (Vector Mastery).
Sentinel - Tank/Defense - Gains immediate Resistance to non-magical B/P/S damage (Deflection Field). Can cancel forced movement on allies (Anchoring Protocol) and trade damage for a guaranteed Stun (Inertial Stun Protocol).

I find this class strange. Example. You recieve a subclass at 2, but no benefits therein. Why not just give that feature at 3? Also at 2 you get +2 cells, and there's a bunch of stuff about it, but best as I can tell it's just +2 cells. If they're different somehow idk how

#

Also, cells don't seem to really do a whole lot. It feels like a lot of squeeze for not much juice here. By 2nd, we can use one to push an enemy 5 feet for a save (weapon mastery type thing) or get advantage on an attack (rogues do this for free)

#

This ability doesn't actually do anything

#

At 7 emergency protocol is kinda cool, but doesn't need to be once per lr and also use a resource

I'd recommend finding a more unique design space for the class. Having a cool weapon and spell-like effects is cool, but not a new design space. If you look at a great class like Snowwolf's Witch, she explores new design spaces like free casting, and familiars which get class upgrades.
