Hmmm... yeah, perhaps. I wanted to make a flame touge like effect as a class feature. Since weilding a flaming sword was the original insparation

The aura I’m kinda iffy on. Since it does like 3 separate things. I wanted to give this subclass the ability to bypass fire resistance since it’s the most common resistance and kinda screws over the class. But to give that feature to the other in an aura is kinda butts since no one else is likely to have exclusively fire damage like this guy is. So I gave extra fire damage to go with it so that it actually does something for allies.

Could just tie the flametongue channel divinity to bypassing fire resistance

Ah, yeah that could work. Sorry for the wait. I left to take care of something. Any ideas what I should do for the aura then? Just giving fire resistance seems kinda meh since it's not much

Although... it would mean that the spells they cast wouldn't get the effect I think. Only the channel divinity. Or only when it's active

Had an idea for the aura. What about something like, when you deal fire damage to a creature. You can heal one person, or yourself, in your aura. Perhaps it scales with how much damage done to make use of those fire aoe spells like fire ball.

I guess the question is then… how much

I guess there should also be some kind of limitation or wording in place as to how it works, since if we do it when ever an attack happens then theoretically you could get 3 attacks on your turn. 2 from extra attack if you have your flaming weapon active, an your bonus action if you manage your weaponize that. Then you could do a 4th off turn with your reaction or just by having some kind of effect happen like someone stepping into wall of fire. So a clause for when this healing might happen might be needed
