When you are falling you may use your reaction to make a (Dexterity)Acrobatics check or a dexterity saving throw against a DC of 10 + The height of the fall/10. On a success you take half damage and do not fall prone.

i moved 2 days ago, my apt only has AC in 1 room and its not the bedroom
im working to resolve the issue

but here in the UK the options are:
Freestanding units - that cost an exhorbitant amount to run, and aren't very good, and are still several hundred pounds
Window units - about 3 grand a room
Wall units - like 7 grand a room?
and cos our houses are designed to trap heat you very, very need 1 per room, cos they can't share the air flow
