#Most menus are broken - Orcaslicer 2.3.2 on Fedora Linux via Flatpak

Hi! I was having a bunch of issues, mainly starting after updating from 2.3.0 to 2.3.2, and I realized that most of them are due to gui issues. For example, in the filament setup wizard, I can't see/scroll down to the "select" button, and in any menu with additional dropdowns (like the filament options in the prepare tab), I can't scroll down at all, as it gets stuck in the dropdown menu.

This basically means I can't use the software, so I'm wondering if there's a workaround, or if I can just report this as a bug.

I've reinstalled, installed from flathub, installed from a downloaded flatpak, restarted my computer, wiped the application files while installed, wiped the application files and reinstalled

#

I also can't resize any menus

Sounds like a display scaling issue with your computer. This was a problem with Orca a while back but had been fixed. Looks like it has regressed and come back. Usually the best workaround at the moment is to remove any display scaling.

i do have a 3k screen so I guessed that was the cuase

# opaque bison hmm how do I do that?

Probably somewhere in the computer's display settings, it varies based on the operating system, so it's probably easiest to look up a YouTube video or Internet article on how to do it for your specific system.

Oh yea. On KDE Plasma, there is a setting in Monitor that let you choose X11 apps scale for themselves or by the system, change that setting will fix this. It works correctly with both normal screen no scale and hiDPI screen with fractional scaling for me.

However. No idea how this one is done on Gnomes if you're on Gnomes. You might have to google that

Quite funny, it's specific to Linux wayland and fractional scaling, which funnily enough, out of a lot of programs I have, only Orca 2.3.2 do this incorrectly.

But I am not a dev to know how to debug this one to fix it.

Well at least Linux fractional scaling is the best version of fractional scale. Vs Windows fixed value (125% and 150% is technically fractional) and vs MacOS which do it beatifully as well but your total latency go to poop

not entirely shocked since wayland is still somewhat new but still sucks :(

But if you use KDE, switch and unswitch the setting will fix it

#

Otherwise. I don't think it is wayland. But likely to be an upstream problem with the wx toolkit used to build orcaslicer or sth else. But

Out of 50 odd program I have, only Orca 2.3.2 specifically have this. A single program

i'm seeing this issue to on fedora kde asahi remix. is this bug being slain yet or are we still trying workarounds?

Also, I cant sem to get it in dark mode like on macOS, and I'm assuming thats caused by the same issue?

EDIT: Its fixed in the alpha! yay!
