Wondering what the zig zag is behind my inner perimetrs in some places (behind Overhangs?)
Is this default behavior or do I have something selected to make it happen?

The project 3MF would be better so we can see all the settings you are currently using.

post the 3mf file

It is a lot of plates but it is doing it universally Let me save it and attach

I've seen this issue before and figured out how to fix it, but can't remember off the top of my head. It's a simple settings change though.

It is printing well this way but it is adding a bit of time on the plates

crimson gulch

is it plate 1? which layer number?

safe lion
#

And which Orca version exactly?

It shows as Internal solid infill and is meant to act as an anchor point for Internal bridging. As I recall this was a new feature in v2.3.1. Some setting will change it to be a straight line instead of this zig-zag.

#

But as I remember it was not very intuitive.

it's the zig zag backing up the walls, right?

safe lion
#

Yeah

midnight token
#

it's due to ensure vertical shell thickness, and happens in sloped regions

#

if you set it to none, for example, it goes away

safe lion
#

Interesting. I could have sworn I had seen it in models with straight sides that still had it even with that feature off. Guess I will have to go back and double check some things.

Makes sense... I will have to try it both on and off and see how it effects prints. If I dont need it I could save some time on large plates

#

Thank You for the assist...greatly appreciated, new slicers are definely a learning curve

midnight token
#

if you set 'detect narrow internal infill' it will change it to simply be an extra perimeter or two printed at infill speeds

#

I have had cases where 'ensure vertical shell thickness' needed to be set to 'all' for prints to come out nicely

thank you

in some areas, yes

#

but it won't affect top or bottom layers

worthy sedge
#

I had that on and it seemed sloppy to me....guess its my linear brain, lol

#

I want to revisit that one for sure.... Many thanks for the clarity.

slicers have a steep learning curve when you start to get into all the settings

Fixing this line issue is a bonus though, so that's something.

midnight token
#

replacing the zig-zig with a straight line reduces print time fairly significantly, especially on older printers with lower acceleration

worthy sedge
#

I can't complain.... I am getting some nice results so far

crimson gulch
#

if you want the curves to be nice try variable layer height

worthy sedge
#

Still have a lot of inefficiencies in my settings I am sure.

If you see any other "mis-settings" in my profile feel free to make me aware. I definitely got a bit more to learn with Orca.

Definitely not, haha. Still learning new things about it almost every day.

I have been able to get pretty decent prints from it so far for the short time I have been using it
