#I wanna go fast

I am down the rabbit hole with my first 3d printer and I want to go fast.

I am building up an Aquila C2 (yup) and am currently running klipper on the H32 mainboard (yup yup).

I have a ton of new parts coming in over the next few weeks and want to be able to setup orcaslicer to support this new addiction i've found.

Yes, I am very aware that a new printer would have been the smart decision but I am having fun with the journey of this.

Question: What do I change in my orcaslicer settings to go fast?

ok post your 3mf file that your trying to go faster with

#

did you say you have kliper?

#

as you file is set up for reprap

i am going to be putting a full metal heatbreak and cht nozzle on the stock hotend tomorrow, waiting on a dragon ace to come in

#

already have a 5015 fan on the shroud

#

orbital extruder also on order

yes the volumectectric speed test is where you want to start to find the limit of yur printer

quaint pumice
#

Most likely to your biggest bottleneck is the hotend/nozzle and the Max volumetric speed setting.

elfin needle
#

do the volumectric flow test in orca just to find the limit of your printer you can stop the print when you start to see issues

VFA?

elfin needle
harsh orbit
#

yeah

#

just got to the answer on google lol

#

is this a test i have to watch?

#

i am about to go to bed lol

elfin needle
#

you file is still incorrect

elfin needle
harsh orbit
elfin needle
#

if you want to stop it early

harsh orbit
#

how about now? i forced it to save

elfin needle
#

what size nozzel do you have?

harsh orbit
#

0.4

elfin needle
#

just changing thes settings in orange will get you to your max volumectric flow

harsh orbit
#

estimated time didnt move at all?

#

is estimated time not accurate?

elfin needle
#

its strange the print time isnt changing though its always 1hr 11 minutes

harsh orbit
#

that's why i was getting frustrated

#

i cant get the numbers to change at all

elfin needle
#

look at the print times they dont add up

#

@harsh orbit what version of orca are you using

harsh orbit
#

2.2.0

elfin needle
harsh orbit
#

installing 2.3.0

#

okay

#

from orcaslicer 2.3.1

elfin needle
#

did you create the project again ?

harsh orbit
#

no

elfin needle
#

you will need too

harsh orbit
#

from a fresh 3mf?

elfin needle
#

new project , drag in or insert benchy

harsh orbit
#

like this?

elfin needle
#

lets see

#

time still wrong , let me try something

harsh orbit
#

it was a filament setting

#

the time is just rounding, that's a non-issue

elfin needle
#

bbs

#

just had to update to 2.3.1

#

if you can push 20^3mm/s throrgh your nozzle this is will get you a bench that will look ok

harsh orbit
#

so the new hotend setup on the way should be able to do ~70

#

considering im down from almost 3 hours to print benchy

#

😄

elfin needle
#

if the hot can do 70 can your cooling keep up and your printer go fast enough

harsh orbit
#

maybe

#

ill cross that bridge when i come to it

#

i have some PETG coming in two days, that will let me start printing stuff to make the next jump

elfin needle
#

some filamets have limits too

harsh orbit
#

for sure

#

im enjoying the adventure tbh

#

i could have done this a lot cheaper just going with a modern printer

#

i also have the material to build a pico mmu

#

i want to go fast but my intention is to sit somewhere around 200mm/s on 4 color feed

elfin needle
#

it just depends on what you want to print

harsh orbit
#

probably dnd figurines will be most of my printing once i dial it all back and just focus on quality

#

i know im not gonna get the best quality at 300mm/s

elfin needle
#

0.2mm nozzle then

#

you can get great detail with a 0.2mm

harsh orbit
#

i kinda plan on having a few sizes

#

being completely honest, this thing is so much faster now than it was yesterday

#

i spent most of today setting up klipper and dialing it in

#

i think the real bottleneck right now is the mainboard is cheeks

#

hc32 is just awful

elfin needle
#

close up you can see the eye balls

#

In stock form you'll be lucky if you get 30 out of that thing with a 0.4 nozzle printing PLA or ABS, and with PETG even less.

Welp
