#Sovol SV08 max PETG.
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
PETG, speeds 180-200 mm/s. 3-6k accel.
Temperatures tested ranged from 235 to 265.
Pa—if tested with a tower, it's 0.048. If tested with lines, it's 0.062. But both options produce the same printout. Just remember, if we include the outer perimeter first, everything's fine.
Have you tuned for the max volumetric flow rate? That's pretty fast for PETG at those temps, unless it's a HS/HF version. You might outrunning what you can physically flow with consistency.
Yes, the ORCA test flow showed the hotend's capabilities up to 25mm3. I limited the printing to 15mm3.
And that was with PETG specifically?
Yes, one filament. All experiments and tests were conducted with it.
Download the file from here #1363262234767261777 message that is appropriate for your nozzle size. Print it with the following settings:
- Arachne wall generator
- Line width = nozzle size
- Layer height = nozzle/2
- Precise Wall = off
- Small area flow compensation = off
Then post pictures of the top, bottom, and sides.
what profile are you using? i'm using the latest git, which has my change merged (https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/pull/10768), and generic petg profiles on that keep the temperature at 255°C, with 265°C for the first layer
I think I've tried all the profiles and different versions of ORCA. If it's not too much trouble, could you please share your settings as a 3MF project?
that's just a "Export Generic 3MF...", or something else?
if so, export for the MSM testprint (haven't tried that yet; printer's busy), and a print i did yesterday
(and the printer's going to be busy for quite some time, if the rngoddess doesn't decide to spaghettify it)
I checked the settings; I tried printing in those modes yesterday. But I'll try again. I was already thinking there might be a kinematics issue, but if the outer perimeter is first, then everything's fine. Also, the PA and IS towers, VFA test—they print perfectly.
oh, and "Save Project as…" produces a different size file
The problem remains and continues after the seam.
hm. the preview looks different for me
I see inconsistent extrusion everywhere that a line starts/stops, including the seam on the overhangs, and in the top/bottom surfaces. To me this screams that you have a PA or retraction issue.
I agree, but I can't understand these calibrations; there are no problems with retractions. I tested the PA on the tower and with lines through Orca. That's why I need help.
I would tell you to try the PA Pattern test instead, but it is near impossible with gloss black filament. If you have a filament of the same brand and type, but in a different color, I would give that a go for tuning PA with the Pattern test.
Thanks, I'll try.
The key is to make sure you do the test using the exact same print volumetric flow rate and accel as you do with normal printing. And then with your normal prints to make sure that your outer wall speeds remains as consistent as possible. Since PA is dependent on flow and accel, big changes either of those can cause a big difference in what the needed PA value is, and that is where tuning Adaptive PA comes into play.
