Has anyone else had differing results, especially with overhangs and the following underextrusion, between orca slicer and bambu studio?
I have a new P1s that I’ve put over 100 hours on trying to get something decent out of it. I was previously borrowing a p1s that performed perfectly, although I was only over using bambu studio and transferring via the sd card.
I’m currently using bambu studio 2.2.1.58 and orca slicer 2.3.1-alpha on mechanically stock bambu lab p1s with 0.4mm nozzle. The white filament is PLA(unknown brand) and black filament is JAYO Matte PETG. Both of which have been dried accordingly.
Even when using the same profiles in bambu and orca, I get significantly different results, no matter the material.
In the first photos with the pla, I’m running the max vol flow rate down to 13, other than that it’s a standard pla profile at 220 degrees, and layer profile is 0.08 high quality on both slicers, however you can see in the photos the differing results. By no means are either perfect but bambu studio has the leading edge by a fair ways.
I did try adjusting some settings, from top to bottom they are:
BS - stock
BS - smooth coefficient set to 0.1
OS - stock
OS - ERS set to 10
OS - ERS set to 3
OS - temp set to 230
OS - outside wall speed set to 30mm/s
OS - pressure advance upped to 0.01
BS also has less ringing around the hole for some reason too. Both use the standard startup procedure with input shaping.
As you can see in the second model, the same issue is happening where it will under extrude after an overhang because the flow rate doesn’t keep up. This was printed with ERS on aswell. I’ve also noticed it happens near seams aswell.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I’ve wasted so many semi decent prints because of this issue and would love to just be able to set and print.
