#Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I know some YouTubers who did a preview of the printer were given some OrcaSlicer profiles, so hopefully they are publically available sometime soon.
There is a beta of a new Anycubic slicer based on Orca! https://workbentch.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/acslicer/prod/anycubic_slicer_beta_based_on_orca_v0.1.0.exe
@warm granite @tight fiber I am one of those youtubers with the printer and the profile. @tight fiber particlarlly, here it is. This 3MF has the settings baked in. It's been great, though until Orca adds multicolor support I'm still using the Anycubic slicer forthat.
This is their official Orca profile. THey may change it, of course, but it's printing solidly.
Perfect, thanks. I have tried to copy settings from their Orca fork to the actual Orca, but haven't really tried it. The fork works fine, but it does not have a connection to printer yet so the other Anycubic slicer is better in sending the data directly to the printer.
Yeah. FWIW their slicer on the thumb drive isn't awful. I mean it's not good but it gets the job done, you can do multi filmanet colors in it, and even paint. Paint tools seem pulled right from bambu/orca. It makes a very clean STL
The slicer on their site doesn't support the kobra 3 yet. it's their 1.3 not 1.4
Thanks David, discord hid this chat from me so only just saw it, really appreciate the profile and good to know it could be possible to use Orcaslicer for everything.
@warm granite could you give this profile a test and see if it's making unusually long print times? I just laid out a few gridfinity things and it's estimating 12 hours, vs. the 55 minutes estimated in their slicer.
Sure I will re-run the current print once it is done ( has about 7 hours left )
I put up a model with single colour and the time was roughly the same, however I put up one with 3 colours and it is much higher on the anyslicer, I believe it is because it does not count the colour changing time.
Also do you know if its possible to connect the printer directly for network prining with that profile for orcaslicer? or not just yet.
New profile and instructions from Anycubic, they say they're more optimized.
Thanks again David, it is very appreciated.
I wonder if they're going to release whatever is needed for orca to know it's a multifilament system.
Hope so, that and LAN mode would be huge.
Yup. Their own slicer doesn't suck for multidevice management, but you can't take a GCODE file from orca and upload it via their slicer, which is a bummer. Though their slicer seems to have the new icons of orca.
New firmware update, prints seem the same, option for auto leveling on print seems to now be there.
New AnyCubicSlicer-Beta 0.2.0 supports AMS and has updated filament profiles, but still no WiFi yet (says coming soon). https://anycubic.com/orcaVersionDownload

There is a new version of the Orca-like slicer, it supports Remote Print apparently. https://anycubic.com/orcaVersionDownload

Hello, does current Orca Slicer support network print for Kobra 3?
No. You still need the anycubic slicer next for that.
What is the reason? Just missing support in Orca? Or does AC prevent external slicers on purpose?
AC did not open the option for other slicers. Even though they have LAN access in their own slicer, it does not seem to be something other slicers can/want to implement.
Since ACs Next Slicer is based on Orca, aren't they supposed to provide the sources?
